Went in for tranny work was told rear end has problems too after it was torn apart for the transmission. $2500 for the transmission then an extra $1500 for rear end work yet my rear end is still not correct. They have had it back twice now once to fix the first oversight on their part and again because it's still having the same issues they were supposed to have fixed and claim it's fine. Took it to a master mechanic for a second opinion and was told not only is it not fixed because it's still doing what they were supposed to fix I needed to take it back and have them complete the work, plus they overcharged by quite a bit. They tried to guilt us into paying for a part that should have been inspected and cleaned during the first round of repair. I don't believe any of the work was done correctly....the guy that did the work is no longer working there. My gut feeling is they know there's not much we can do and will blow us off until the 90 day warranty expires UPDATE: it still pisses me off to this day. I got into an accident where it damaged a small part in my transmission. Before i came here i took my truck to several businesses where i was told that they were only able to fix the damaged body of my truck but couldn't fix the transmission. All of them told me that i would have to get my transmission fixed before they can work on my truck due to safety issue. So being this is my first time being in this situation I was a bit stressed, not to mention me and my family was supposed to be relocating to Texas in a month. I came across All Trans when i typed it in on Yelp because i wanted to get a quote on how much and how long it will take to get my transmission fixed before i can take it in to the auto body people. I called and Jenny answered the phone and she was very nice and told me to come in. Only one word comes to mind " Rip-off". I was quoted a price for a torque converter for my pick-up. I agreed , and the next day rented the required jack for the job and purchased my supplies. And went down to the shop and picked up the converter. Went home and started the job only to find the splines did not match up. Traveled back to shop and was told they would special order anew converter for an extra charge of $100. Next day they say part came in, drove down and had to wait 45 minutes for part to come out from back of shop. When he brings it out it had just been spray painted and was not the new converter agreed upon. Not only did I loose out on the rental fees for the jack, but I lost all trust and respect for the owner who told me not to come back. What goes around comes around. read more

A couple of weeks ago I took my 1999 Ford Escort in to get a free diagnostic check with All Trans because my car was jerking and sputtering when I tried to accelerate. I don't know much about cars, but they did the diagnostics and gave me a printout report of what was wrong with my car. Jen(ny?), the receptionist and office manager, is quite knowledgeable about cars, and was very helpful. She has a good sense of humor, yet she is serious and cares about her work and service. Anyway, she gave me an estimate of about $3,000 to rebuild the transmission and also tuneup. So, I took the car home to think about whether I needed to buy a new car or try to fix this old one. Last Wednesday, I brought my car back in because I decided to keep the car and would chance fixing it and hope I can drive it a few more years. Brian, the mechanic, drove me home and for the next couple of days they worked on my car until they finished it Friday afternoon. So far, the car is running much better, and if it continues to run this way for a few more years, I will be very satisfied and happy. They also found a leak in one of the pipes/hoses, which they fixed for free labor, and just charged me for the parts. They ordered the part and a few days later, I took it back in and they fixed it in a couple of hours. It's hard to find trustworthy people who do a good job. So, I would recommend you go see them if you have a problem with your transmission. read more

So I decided to write my very first yelp review from the excellent customer service I had received from All Trans. Jen and Brian were very fast and knowledgeable! My 03 350z was giving me problems after I took it on the freeway, it made a loud disturbing clanking noise, almost like something was flapping underneath my car!... Not a good feeling. But what made it unusual was that it would only do that in a higher speed. Aside from that I knew that I would eventually need to get a new clutch but my bf likes to remind me that I don't need one just yet. Anyway after getting some advice from friends, they said it could possibly be my tranny because my clutch wasn't that worn out. I was extremely worried and desperate for answers. After hearing about how quick and knowledgeable these guys were I thought, perfect! Brian did a courtesy check and test drive on my car and come to find out it was only a few bolts missing from my dashboard panel underneath my car which was causing it to clank. Being my first transmission shop, I would say that it has been a great first experience thus far. I have been there about three or four times within the past few months, and All Trans has provided me with nothing but fast and friendly service. When I first spoke with Jenny (the receptionist there), she made me feel like we were old friends. She was very personable and I immediately got a sense that this company actually cared about its customers and their satisfaction. The service itself is quick and thorough. Rather than just giving you a bill and leaving you with many unanswered questions, they break down every issue and the billing as soon as they figure it out. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to meet Mike, so I can't write a review based on my experience with him. I had some work done on my 4Runner in August. The crew at All Trans was incredible. I have recommended everyone I know that they take their vehicles in to see them . I've been going to All Trans for all my repair needs for my 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 with 4WD for the last 5 years. Car now has 180K miles and should be good for another 100K, at least :-) I have never regretted taking it to All Trans. Sure, they could be a little more precise in their estimate of when the work will be finished "Sir, your car will be finished at 10:27 AM on the 12th", but repairs aren't like that. I came into All Trans very stressed out and nervous because my car had gone through hell and back. My 2005 VW Beetle needed a transmission valve replacement and pretty much a transmission rebuild. I had a remanufactured 4R70w transmission that I bought to put in my early bronco. I called all trans to ask them if they could do the work to mate my new trans to my transfer using my new Advance adapter kit. They informed me it was basically a rebuild since they would have to tear the new trans all the way down to install the new shaft. I said ok and brought it down to drop it off and also brought a new gasket and seal kit for my transfer case and asked how much they would charge me to install that as well. I was told that it would basically also be the price of the rebuild because they would need to tear it completely apart. Roughly the same price as the originally quote. Doubling the price. I was ok with that. When I went to pic everything up, I noticed the seals and gaskets were not changed and when I told Mike this, he said well it's a lot of work to change all of our those seals and gaskets and I told him I thought that was what I had paid for. He said he'd have his guys do it and they'd call me when it was done. When I went again to pick it up, it was now painted blue and had originally been black like my transmission. I went ahead and took it home. Took paint thinner and removed the paint on the seals and they were the original rusty seals and not the new ones I had brought them. So basically they ripped me off. Since I had just sold my house, was leaving the island and had to ship the bronco, I didn't have time to mess with them any more. Use these guys at your own risk. Pretty sad way to treat people. I guess I donated my new seals and money for labor they didn't provide plus I was charged for a new gasket set for my trans and I had not been informed about originally. read more

This is the worst place on the island to get your transmission worked on. I would rather get a bum meth addict in Wahiawa to work on my car and if the bum worked on my transmission it would actually work. They took my transmission apart and put it in a box and told me they would not warranty the work, I did not even authorize All Trans to initiate the work and at no time did I get a call letting me know that what the diagnosis of the transmission. This place is very professional and knows what they are doing as they have fixed my car twice for the same problem. By that I mean I had a car last year that had the same problem when it miss fired and it needed spark plugs coils the new wires. My car I got in December had the same exact problem in my car came back running better than ever. All Trans was able to find and fix my clutch issue that my regular go-to shop, could not. My regular shop couldn't even hear the sound that it was making nor feel any symptoms. I've had my car for almost 25 years so I know when every little thing is off, and sure enough, two days after I left my shop, my car was barely drivable. I couldn't change gears without turning the engine off. After reading all the great reviews on All Trans, I decided to go with them. At my appointment, I asked Jenny if she could come with me to my car and hear the noise that I was referring too, to make sure she knew what I was talking about. I was afraid they might not recognize the sound like the guys at my last shop. But she confidentially told me that there's no need because her guys would figure it out. And sure enough, they did. This was two weeks ago, I've been driving it daily since then, and it's been running smooth and quiet, and easy to change gears, just like it should be. I also noticed on my receipt's odometer reading that there was some mileage put on, which shows that they test drove it either to find out what was wrong or to ensure all is good after they worked on it, or both. At my other place, the receipt showed no mileage was put on, meaning that they didn't put much attempt into trying to figure out what was wrong. All Trans also gave me a generous courtesy discount (even more than the Yelp discount) and a 90 day/3000 mile warranty. I should have went to All Trans in the first place. Next time I will. When I first picked up my car, I was a little upset because Jenny mentioned that my door handle was difficult to use to open the door so the mechanics would just open the door from the outside, but in actuality, the handle was completely broken (cracked, and that's all it takes to not have tension on the rod to open the door) and unusable so I think someone used too much force. There's a little trick I would use but I've gotten so used to it that it became second nature so it's my fault for not letting them know (so I don't knock any stars for that), but I had wished that as soon as they realized the handle wasn't working properly, to either call me (so I could tell them the trick) or just open it from the outside by rolling the windows down, instead of forcing it. But anyway, I replaced the handle with one I got from eBay for about $7, and now it's working as it should be. I don't even have to do my little trick anymore. It's an old car with lots of use and it was just due time that I'd have to get it replaced anyway and I'm glad I got that knocked out of the way now, so it turns out that they actually did me a favor. Another thing I like about this shop is that they have a safe holding place. The parking lot seems small, but they have a hidden garage in the back. When you're ready for pick-up, they drive it out front for you. Jenny is very friendly and positive too, which put me at ease when I first called at a stressful time. I also love that they're open on Saturdays (1/2 day is better then not at all). I will definitely come back here next time I have an issue. read more

I have an '86 CJ-7 that I recently picked-up that's been pieced together over the years. I knew the Jeep had some clutch issues and I was having a hard time finding a shop knowledgeable on all Frankenstein components. All Trans stepped up and got the bad clutch diagnosed and repaired in a couple days. Jen was super friendly and informative. She called with details and pricing information the same day I dropped the Jeep off. Unfortunately, the Jeep needed an entire new clutch but All Trans helped me with the pricing - awesome service! Saving a couple bucks helps anyone... Super clean and organized shop. Not exactly what you'd expect - for the better - when you think of transmission shop or what you see from most local repair shops around the island. Today is day one with the Jeep back and all is well. Runs/drives better and shifting is easier than ever. A relative referred me to All Trans when the transmission on my son's Acura started leaking fluid. This was the first time I ever needed to inquire with a transmission shop for any services and had no idea what a rebuilt transmission would cost. not friendly at all they took my vehicle while I was paying them monthly payments then when I called to require about my vehicle the receptionist told me that my vehicle was gone. Then next thing you know she lied about it and the owner is an ass he didn't even have good customer service at all when I went down there in person they wanted me to pay for storage fee when they gave away my car or towed as months went by the car was still under my name they didn't even make the name trade until I wanted to get my vehicle back and take them to court then he deeded to go to the dmv and switch the name over... All Trans absolutely deserves 5 stars & 2 thumbs up. I would give them more stars & thumbs, but I'm at the limit. First called in & spoke to a lady named Jenny, who by the way is super nice & an absolute sweetheart! She likes to joke around with customers, which I think she has found to be a good thing to do because of the potential cost associated with a new or rebuilt transmission. Anyway, I told Jenny that I was thinking about brining my car down to their shop, to which she replied that if I do that I should call before I come down because she wanted to make sure someone was available to see me when I got there. A+ for that Jenny! When I got there, Jenny explained the process to me, as I filled out a little bit of paperwork. She then called for customer assistance. Michael (who is the owner) came over, greeted me & introduced himself. I instantly felt comfortable with Michael, as to me he just has that look of a guy I can trust. I ended up having to leave my car overnight, as he was having problems scanning my car for the problem. The next morning, I get a call from Jenny, who had the unfortunate task of breaking the bad news to me. $2800 - $3000. I already had in my mind that the cost would be in that neighborhood, if in fact the problem was the transmission. After picking myself off of the floor, I went to pick up my car, as I had a decision to make. Repair it or buy a new car. We shall see. I told Jenny that I was new to Yelp, but that I would certainly give a 5 star review & mention that she was a sweetheart. I'm a man of my word. poor customer service!! based on the previous reviews, I tried to email them on their website to get a quote. I requested a quote 3 times in a month. never got a response. I tried calling and got a pretty rude receptionist, lady with a Filipino accent. I asked about why I didnt get a response via email she said she didn't get the email request. so I suggested that maybe their website doesn't work, and she got defensive. she then said I need to bring the car in for a quote, so I said if your website says you can request a quote via email, why do I need to bring my car in. why can't you give me a quote over the phone? she said we don't do that. so I said then why have that option on your website?? she had nothing to say. idiots. most shops have a service labor book that has a estimate time/ price to service cars. don't know why they don't have this or use it. all I wanted was a basic trans service (fluid flush and filter change). how hard is that!?! i was planing on taking my 2 cars there. well I guess it all take my business and refer my family and friends to another shop. oh wells. read more

I recently brought in my manual Acura TSX to get an estimate thinking that I had problems with my syncros or clutch because I was having a hard time getting into gear. To make a long story short, I brought my car down on three different times to narrow down the problem with my car. We finally figured out that there wasn't enough "play" in the peddle.
