We are in Sevierville during our annual anniversary pilgrimage driving thru Pigeon Forge during Rod Run when I noticed my brake pedal fading. I contacted this business owner first thing Monday morning and he told me to bring it in so he could get it repaired for me. He was great and immediately checked my car, took it for a test drive and came back and checked it some more. He came back to me and said my brakes were fine and to go have a good vacation. He charged me nothing and assured me my brakes were fine and probably just got "tired" in the bumper to bumper traffic on Saturday. Usually, they get me in and out the same day unless they can't get parts. They have a great relationship with the parts stores that immediately bring him stuff when they call. I was impressed by how quickly they got parts when working on my cars. I watched them deal with a tourist who was shocked when they found out their repair was something simple and cheap. Coming down Mt. Leconte and the trucks brakes were acting abnormal. Wife was really acting abnormal so took my vehicle (Suburban) to Allstar. Had gotten the prices from several other places and they were competitive. They took every tire off and gave the brakes a thorough inspection and told me there was nothing wrong with the brakes and to keep on trucking. The truck had 75,000 miles on the brakes so they easily could have sold me replacement pads, etc. No charge!!! Really ethical people. I'm not sure why this place has such a low ratings, but our experience here was amazing. Similar to Jennifer M., we had car problems right before we were driving back home. Unfamiliar with the area, we asked the tire shop next door and they recommended Allstar to us. The problem with our car was that the brake pad was completely worn out. My grandfather, who was an honest and well-respected mechanic before he retired, scrutinized every move the mechanic made and complimented his work immensely. The whole process took about an hour, which is pretty standard for a repair like this. The mechanic worked earnestly and thoroughly. He did things that weren't required for the repair, such as cleaning the original parts before putting them back in and lubricating the screws. After replacing the brake pads, he even offered to test drive it for us to make sure everything was working properly. Overall, this place had great service. It exceeded past our expectations. read more

I had a lot of lights on in my car but I ignored them and finally the car started acting up so I took it over here. My boss has already took her car and had good service but I was reading reviews and some of them were bad about the costumer service. I'll admit he may seem rough around the edges but all the guys there are good people. I had to get a couple things done and my car runs just fine now and all the lights are off. The gentleman at the front desk even offered to give a costumer waiting a ride home since he had to sit and wait for a while. They also always take the cars for a drive to make sure things run right and I think that's awesome because some car places just say they fixed it and send you on you way. If I need something for my car I'll definitely take it here again, and recommend them! read more

If you want your car taken care of, would stay clear. Watched mechanic take engine cover off and literally drop it on the ground. I could hear it bang from over in the lobby. Footprints all over front bumper where he had his feet all over paint job, and left old parts lying around under hood. Not too friendly either. Customer service is part of your experience. read more

These guys have great reviews on google and thought I'd add one here since they don't have many reviews on Yelp. We were on vacation here from IL and our car was overheating. John was able to look at it that same day and have the electric water pump replaced by the next day. The price was fair and the work was done neatly. I had a few other issues with my car but I made it home safely without overheating. Also the location was great because we were staying in Gatlinburg and the Trolleys have a stop nearby. We were able to use those for $3 for the day while waiting for the car. They do honest work and I would use them again if I lived out here. read more

i have lived in sevier county the past 20 years an i have taken 3 of my cars to get fixed . i also had my father take his car to the shop . i also had my niece take her car to get a new muffle system . i have brought auto parts to the shop an they put the parts on for me . i called today to see if they would put an alternator that i have in my car for me an i was told no by the owner he doesn't put in other peoples auto parts only the ones he has the customers purchase there at the shop now knowing these people for years since they opened . this sounds like a scam to me . i will be reporting them to bbb ? i will not take my cars there any more ? i will warn others to not go there . stay away from there . read more

I was completely over-charged $100 for the part that was repaired when I actually did some research of my own on the exact brand and type All Star Auto told me they used . Also, did not fully fix the actual problem and did the minimum to get as much money as they could without looking at what the root of my starting problem would be. I received inaccurate and false information when I voiced concerns of my car not being fully repaired. I have called to ask questions about the service and to tell All Star that my vehicle is still not running correctly and was met with rude customer service who made me feel like a complete inconvenience. read more

John at Allstar went above and beyond for us. We did not know what was wrong with our car. He was very honest with us--found out the previous place we took it (Jiffy Lube) didn't actually fill up the oil. He filled up my car with 4 quarts of oil and only charged me $20.00 for the oil, inspection, plus he dropped us off and picked us up at the Tanger outlets so we didn't have to sit and wait. I came in while on vacation because my car was having trouble accelerating and was rattling. The person at the counter was somewhat abrasive, but agreed to look at my car. Two hours later, we come back and he says they are test driving the car, but that the problem appeared to have "solved itself". We wait for awhile and they finally come back from the test drive and say that the car is fine. I drive off and not five minutes later, the battery light comes on and soon after, the power steering stops working and the electronics start to flicker. Long story short, the alternator is completely dead not fifteen minutes after leaving Allstar. This seems VERY suspicious as the alternator was not acting up before, the car is new enough that it should not have alternator problems, and the alternator had nothing to do with the original problem (we later found that the original problem was due to bad gas which a reputable mechanic really should have figured out). Repairing the alternator ended up costing $350 which I don't know that I would have had to spend had I not gone here. read more
