I was vacationing in Pigeon Forge in June 2026 when I made a mistake on one of the narrow mountain roads and slipped off the edge of the pavement. A day later, my car started making a strange noise, and I immediately began to worry. My first instinct was to find a Firestone because it was familiar, but something told me to look for a local mechanic instead. That's how I found Rick's. Even though they were absolutely slammed that morning, the staff welcomed me as a walk-in. The lady at the front desk quickly found someone--who I believe was Rick himself--to take my car for a test drive. When he returned, he asked me to give him a few minutes to find an open lift. About twenty minutes later, they had diagnosed the problem, made a minor adjustment to the subframe, and had me safely back on the road. While I was waiting, I couldn't help but notice how the service advisors treated their customers, especially several elderly folks who came in. They were patient, respectful, and took the time to explain everything clearly. That kind of customer service has become all too rare, and it created an atmosphere that immediately put people at ease. What impressed me most wasn't just that they fixed my car. It was that, despite being incredibly busy, they were willing to stop what they were doing to help a stranded traveler they had never met. That says a lot about the character of this business. We were in town for Spring break and realized the oil was at 6%!! Before starting our 10 hour drive back home we thought it best to get an oil change. Rick's was fantastic! I recently visited this shop hoping to resolve a grinding noise in my 4-wheel drive actuator. Disappointingly, they turned me away, stating they couldn't hear the noise. Told me to come back if I heard it again. What's worse, they charged a hefty sum for fixing my running lights, yet it seems they didn't even bother to inspect the 4-wheel drive actuator. There was no indication that they touched the bolts near the wheel hub, which is essential for accessing the actuator. It's frustrating to pay for a service that wasn't thoroughly performed. Monday, 7/15/2024 I am on Dolly Parton Parkway and I hear a loud noise...I had a Very Flat Tire. I got out of the car and tried to think of where I could get help? (Oh yeah, I did NOT have my phone with me!) I thought of Ricks, they open at 7:00am. I started walking the 1.5 miles. I Finally got there but Rick's did not have a person they could send out. The owner's daughter insisted I drive her car to Five Oaks Tire (my tire company), for help. I drove to Five Oakes Tire and they offered NO HELP. The Smug Counter Guy said, "The only solution I have is, Call a wrecker." I told him I did not have my phone with me...his reply, "Call a Wrecker." I drove back to Ricks...Explained what Five Oaks said: She called Baker's Wrecker Services and asked if they could change my flat with the donut...Yes, they could. They offered to pick me up at Ricks to take me to my stranded vehicle. Baker changed to the donut...and it was flat! Baker then pulled my car onto the wrecker. Ricks did not have my tire and said they could order one for tomorrow. I had to use my car...so, I RELUCTANTLY went back to Five Oakes to have the tire changed. But, Where did I FIND HELP? I have used Rick's service center maybe five times over the last two years. My experience is usually pretty good but this last time was terrible. I made an appointment to wait with my car while they changed my transmission fluid and differential fluid because I was waiting with my car, I had to take a further away appointment so they could accommodate that. After servicing my car, they totally forgot. I was waiting on it and after a whole mess, it took them six hours to return my vehicle to me. I sat in their lobby for six hours, waiting for a basic fluid change. my service nor labor was discounted so I had a substantial bill that was higher than what I was quoted. I decided to accept my loss and just bite the bullet and pay the invoice. I will return to service center and I cannot recommend them to my friends/family. read more

Our alternator went out on the way home from a long road trip. The team at Rick's went out of their way to squeeze us in and get us back on the road. They could not have been nicer and kinder in our time of need. There is even a great library near by, and they were kind enough to shuttle our family their while we waited for the repair. My girlfriend was notified that she had a flat tire during her lunch period. One of her co-workers was nice enough to change out the flat and put her donut spare on. I picked up her car and took it to Rick's. I asked if they did tire repairs, if they had time to look at her tire? They said their techs were busy and it would be 20-30 minutes. I said I'd wait. 10 minutes later they came and asked for the keys and drive it into the service bay. 15 minutes later the tech came out said it's done. The issue was in the valve core, so no worries about the tire's integrity. They even mounted the original tire back on and placed the donut in it's appropriate place without me even asking. We were on vacation in Sevierville when our car stopped running on the road. We called Rick's and they were really busy, but immediately helped us out by sending a tow truck to pick us up. There weren't any rental cars available so they let us use a loaner truck. They diagnosed and fixed our car ahead of their projected time frame and we were able to get back to our vacation. We put over $2000 into fixing my husbands truck. Only a few days later after it being "fixed" it was having the same problem. He took it back in and was charged $85 to replace a bolt that cost 75 cents ( shown in the price sheet). Now the same problem is happening again. Is it reasonable to take three times to fix the same problem? And maybe you just tighten the bolt because we just spent $2000 and you didn't finish the job?? read more

Fixed issue in a timely manor but after fixing my gear shift. The pens and stuff that was in the shifter console was just thrown on the floor board and not put back also their was a bag of air freshener that wasn't ours looked like kitty litter was loose in the seats. read more

Highly recommend. I am a local and the first time I used Ricks my car started acting funny on the way home from my job in Knoxville. My service light had not come on yet but I called and begged for them to see my car before they closed (which was in an 15min) Bc I had three 12hr shifts coming up for work. Not only did they see me but they temporarily fixed my car with no charge so I could make it my hour long drive to and from work the next three days until my next day off for a permanent fix. Today I took my car for air conditioning repair, two power door lock replacements and a surprise new starter and it was as much as the honda dealership had quoted just for the doors. They are so kind there and they even offered me a loaner car today Bc my car was there so long. THEY OFFERED.
