I contacted this business owner first thing Monday morning and he told me to bring it in so he could get it repaired for me. He was great and immediately checked my car, took it for a test drive and came back and checked it some more. He came back to me and said my brakes were fine and to go have a good vacation. He charged me nothing and assured me my brakes were fine and probably just got "tired" in the bumper to bumper traffic on Saturday. It is so refreshing to find such good and honest person when out of town and having an issue.

Their style is more casual than corporate and that is great for some people and makes others nervous if that's what you're used to, but they're all about fixing anything that is a true mechanical issue or safety hazard, but won't ever push you on anything cosmetic or non-essential, which is great if you're not a millionaire with a car budget to match! They're all much more into doing than talking at this shop, so if I had to give constructive criticism I'd say communicating more about the car's issues/options would make people feel better, but if you have to choose between a mechanic that will talk to you or one who will just fix what's wrong at a very fair/low price, I'll take the latter every single day. :)

I was pulled over at the gas station to the left of Express Auto Center trying to fill my tire with…read moreair. It was noticeably flat but i could not find any punctures so i assumed it could be refilled with the air pump machine. Well, the machine would fill my other 3 tires but not the one that was flat. I even had a nice group of people test my pressure and they believed there must be a puncture. I was honestly in a pretty bad situation. Had to be somewhere pretty soon, and couldn't really afford to drive on it and ruin the rims as it was super close to being rim on pavement. The group that checked my gauge mentioned i should try to walk over to Express Auto to see if they could patch it. I walked in, and was immediately greeted by the owner and the friendly workers. I explained I was stuck on the other side of their shop. Without hesitation, he sent me an awesome guy to come look at my car with me. He jacked up my wheel at the air pump and literally carried my wheel back with him to the store. The whole time I was there they never tried to sell me on anything and I could tell they genuinely wanted to help. After only like 10 minutes with no appointment, the man who helped me with my tire walked back over to my car and explained that the tire i had mustve been sealed wrong because it was leaking air. There were no punctures so I wouldnt have been able to figure it out. He said that he tested it and resealed it with some adhesive and made sure it did not continue to deflate. Jacked up the car, and put my tire back on. The whole time I felt like i was a hassle because they did not have to help me at all really. I go back to the store to thank them and see how much it would cost and the owner tells me that I am good he does not want any payment...I couldnt believe it. How friendly and helpful they were, let alone that he wouldnt even charge me? I returned to the store to try and give him at least some cash because it was so helpful and i greatly appreciated everyone there. He refused. He said to give it to some of those who may be in more need. Honestly made my day and reminded me there are still good people in this world. More than once, a mechanic here has spent a few hours on my car diagnosing a problem that other garages couldn't detect (even after I described thoroughly) They are honest, capable, and eager to save your money rather than up selling services and repairs that you don't need (unlike most dealerships and chain companies). I tend to avoid small shops--I like to plug into a corporate structure. That said, I trust these guys with my auto when real work is on the table.

Of course I assumed AC work may or may not be expensive depending on the problem and after receiving a high quote I needed to run it by my husband. Also come to find out they charge mostly the labor because we found the parts I needed online for $215. (My quote was almost $1600 not including the money they robbed me of) They said they still needed to charge me ($217) because they topped off (it wasn't empty) and recharge my ac. I didn't ask them to do either of those things, just to run a diagnostic which I would have paid for if there was a cost for that, no problem. I asked the man at the counter if doing those things was going to temporarily help with the cold air and he said yes. A lie. Come to find out because my issue is my compressor, recharging and adding more Freon was a total waste of time and money. That's $217 wasted on something I didn't even ask them to do. I imagine they won't be willing to refund me so all I can do is try to help someone else to STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!

I asked so if I come around 3:30 it should be ready. He said yes. At 3:00 when I got home I called again expecting my car would be ready and I wanted to get the price so I could bring enough cash. Stephen again answered and told me "it was the next one in the bay". They close at 5:00. The last thing I wanted was a rushed job. Plus I felt lied to. There are many other shops that can replace brakes in my area. I will avoid this shop in the future and save myself time and frustration. Plus I don't want anyone rushing to get my car ready. After I got my key from the office I caught Shal to explain my disappointment after I took so much time to get this vehicle dropped off and picked up by another friend.
