We just took the basic handgun course last week. We are 2 middle aged women who had no experience with handguns. TJ, Marty and all of the instructors are so knowledgeable, friendly and patient! The first hour is an informative, interactive classroom setting where they teach you gun safety, parts of the gun, your stance, eye domination and how to properly hold the handgun. In the shooting range portion, the instructors were very detailed and provided individual guidance and assistance as needed. Way beyond what we expected and we've been talking about it for days. We highly recommend this class to anyone with no experience who wants to learn how to properly and safely handle firearms. For those who already have experience, it is an excellent refresher course. I lost my gun virginity to these guys, and loved it! I learned how to handle a handgun and had a blast (get it?) shooting it, and the best part was that the range, guns, and ammo all came as one package for one class, one session in one day for a pretty reasonable price. They were passionate, they were caring, they were helpful, they knew what they were doing, and they took gun safety very seriously, including eye and ear protection, while still being very fun. Honestly, the only reason why I didn't give them a perfect 5/5 is the fact that they didn't try to enforce the mask wearing rule in the gun range and in the lecture room. Only about half of us (staff and shooters and I included) wore face masks, while the other half didn't. Even if COVID-19 wasn't the issue, I honestly think that there should be some form of mask wearing rules anyways, considering how lead dust is a legitimate issue for us gun enthusiasts. And yeah, while the face masks for COVID/diseases won't do much against lead dusts, it's at least better than nothing, especially when shooting indoors. Still though, I can't say I didn't love the smell of my smoking gun after firing one for the first time ever. Even with the little issue with the lack of mask wearers, I'd still love to come back to these guys to learn more about guns. ^^ read more

At first I was looking for a course with the minimum requirements to obtain my CCW but after taking this course I realize how critical every single bit of information that TJ presented was. You receive so much information its almost overwhelming but in a good way. Its critical information and knowledge and it is presented in an extremely easily absorbed format. I have been a customer of TJ for years now. From my initial ccw course, and a course of advanced fire, and now just having completed my 3rd ccw renewal. All of TJ's courses continue to be informative and entertaining at the same time, all the while conforming to the requirements of the state. I have shot handguns in the desert many times with friends, but never took a formal training class. This was the best decision I ever made. I learned so much that I never took the time to learn. TJ is such a great teacher with a priority on making it fun, but putting safety first. He gives you the ability to understand that's guns are not toys. Excellent exp taking the NRA Protection Outside the Home 2 Day course. Here's what you get- you get to do all the things you can't normally do at the range but need in order to defend yourself. All taught in safe manner with a team of instructors. I learned a whole lot of new skills and I found things I've been taught elsewhere tweaked to make make my motions faster and smoother without compromising any safety. TJ and his team are really great at demonstrating what needs to be done and watching you to see what needs to be fixed or improved. Here's the one downside if you can even call it that- even though the class is 2 days long it doesn't feel like enough bc there is that much good information to learn and absorb. What it means is I'm looking for signing up for more classes with Allsafe to practice what I've learned, improve them and learn further skills that could end up. read more

Bought my first handgun. Was given TJ at AllSafe as a referral when picking up my HKp2000sk at OC armory. Thought it was a smart idea, so I emailed TJ. He was quick in responding. I signed up on line for the 2 evening instructional, then live fire. It was FANTASTIC! Learned a lot of the basics necessary to be a responsible owner. Actually there isn't much left to say. I've been more than satisfied with content and execution in each of the six (or is it seven?) classes I've taken from All Safe Defense. Every supporting instructor (besides TJ) has been way more than competent, experienced, and a professional teacher that communicates well. And then there is the patient, always guiding, and results-oriented TJ - both in classroom and on the ranges. You will be challenged yet exposed safely to the handling of many forms of self-defense ....(Hint - A gun is a last resort.) And that is the perspective he offers. I got nothing else. What can I say, TJ is phenomenal!! I just completed the PPITH (NRA Personal Protection Inside The Home) course with TJ at Allsafe and it was a great experience. The course work was challenging but TJ was extremely patient and ready for any question I had. He explained the material in terms that were easy to understand and follow along, but on target of how an instructor would present them. His class room is well equipped with everything needed to present what exercise we were going over. He also has a library to kill for and so much reading material that is above and beyond this particular course but would be essential outside the classroom. He also shares his infinite knowledge and experiences that make learning so interesting. I did my homework trying to find a reputable company to take my NRA classes and Allsafe came up with some great reviews so i decided to go there. I don't normally write reviews but in this case i believe it is necessary. I have taken 2 classes from Allsafe Defense System, TJ was the instructor for the 2 classes and here is my experience. Absolutely fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable, the course content and material was easily explained and he took his time to make sure we all understood and were moving along. He encourage TPI, total participation involvement which is extremely beneficial in learning the material and his teaching method was excellent. I got immersed in the classes, participated and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. TJ and Allsafe is where you want to go to get these classes and you too will have a great experience, learn plenty, excel, develop great skills and truly enjoy the classes. The class was most enjoyable, full of good additional information than the regular material, TJ was very professional, explains the material real well, answered all m questions and made the class fun. There were two parts of the class which I found exceedingly useful, a visit to an indoor range to observe their procedures and look at the range, the other part I found very helpful was the hands on portion at the door, gave our class exposure to some unique firearms and how to clear them. You practice with different caliber guns to get a feel before you go out and purchase one.
