Well, this means you didn't have to go twice a week to make up for what you didn't have the chance to do originally. This is not what we were told when we purchased. I went back back-and-forth, whether I should post or not. We have chosen to go to a different place because we felt lied to and cheated out of a lot of money. I would not recommend this company anymore, and I hope they change their business practices to something more ethical.

They regularly assess the students to provide feedback and move them up to different levels when they're ready. It's great to see all the new things she learns and can do as she moves up in levels and see her confidence grow. She was able to swim the length of a pool on her own by the time she was 4 and continues to grow as a strong swimmer thanks to the teachers here. The teachers are all friendly and helpful. There really has not been any progression in his classes over these last 6 months its the same exact thing every week and not even trying to intentionally build on his skills. I filled out a withdrawal form online and it would not go through so i completed one in office giving them 30 days notice ..my account got charged for the next month and I've been trying to get in contact with the office to get a refund and nobody is getting back to me. Not a place for a first lesson. Watch my video…read more Update: Because they are not a part of any swimming organization, no one holds them accountable for their dangerous methods. I filed a complaint with the USA Swimming Safe Sport and with the U.S. Center for SafeSport. However, neither of these organizations can take action against the rough coaches and the school because it is a private institution and falls outside the jurisdiction of any organization that could halt their dangerous practices. They will continue to lie on their website by stating "Safety first" while simultaneously forcing your screaming child underwater. They scared my 4-year-old. She screamed and was actively resisting, but the coach just took her and threw her into the water. I could see she was suffocating for a moment because he just forced her under water while she screamed. So lovely for a first lesson ever. How do I convince her now that swimming is fun? Coach Lucas doesn't know what he is doing at all. Disappoinment. I regret I brought my kid there.

She fairly scared of getting her head under water, hated getting her head wet, and was brand new to this at first. In just a couple weeks, Rachel gave her the skills and confidence to thrive and accept new challenges. I was continually impressed by Rachel's calm, kind, supportive approach with each kiddo I saw her with - she was always comforting and understanding - yet challenging because she knew each kiddo's limits and abilities. I am so grateful for PhD Swim - every coach seems so encouraging and knowledgeable about both swimming and kids. We have enrolled in the next stage at PhD Swim and I couldn't be more thrilled. I know my daughter can survive if in a dangerous water situation, which was what was most important to me, but I also know she learned a ton in such a supportive environment along the way. I'd also like to add that PhD Swim is has been very impressive regarding covid protocols. Every adult - both parents and teachers - remain fully masked every second they are in the room, and kiddos are generally masked unless they are in the pool. The small classes and low number of kiddos/families in there at any time is very reassuring. Honestly, I initially balked at the price and time commitment - hey, it took 2-3x as long to travel there and back than the lesson itself, and the survival class was 3x a week!! - but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. My credit card was stolen while away and clearly my hold request was not processed. They called and I repeatedly said I'll handle it. Then I returned with a flu and still getting the daily calls with a fever, I paid, but complained with a 103 fever about how they did not hold until I returned. And Mike decided complainers get cancelled. He did not tell me as I found out logging in online. I do not owe anyone but I would not recommend anyone the owner of this pool would rather cancel that deal with customer service. In their book he's right and you're wrong. Find another pool if you like customer service.

My daughter is taught by Coach Katya and she has so much patience with her! We've also had the pleasure to work with Coach Lindsey and other coaches. My daughter just enjoys coming to her lessons. We also have a toddler who is just starting lessons and each week she's starting to enjoy being in the water. When we found out they were going to have summer camp this year (2024), we were ecstatic! We thought we would only try 1 week. We ended up doing 4 weeks! They do not only do swimming. Each week there's a theme and they do activities and projects based on that theme. My daughter loved the Olympics and sharks week themes. She even taught us a few things: she was able to recognize what a whale shark looks like and she told us that each circle on the Olympic ring represent continents! Hoping they have swim camp again next year! Lastly, they recently moved to a facility that is a remarkable improvement from their previous one. There's a waiting area and also a family room (great for those who have little toddlers waiting for their sibling to finish lessons). They don't allow reservations, but since they did not have any classes scheduled the weekend I inquired about, they assured they would have adequate supplies and they did! When we arrived to rent the equipment, the employees greeted us right away. They patiently answered our questions and helped us select the right items since it was our first time renting. They clearly explained the cost and tried to save us money rather than talking us into spending more. In addition to rental equipment they sell scuba gear, hold classes, and host events and trips. They have a heated pool on-site and offer private and semi-private classes. Their training agency is SSI (Scuba Schools International). Overall, we had a great experience here and would rent from here again!

I was never able to get open water certification because of the pressure on my ears but Mike Welch was incredibly patient and others in the shop had numerous suggestions for me to try. Ultimately I gave up after numerous attempts and got a full refund of the entire tuition even though I had completed the lessons, used their equipment to try and get the outdoor signoff completed, and taken a lot of their time. I would highly recommend the shop if you are wanting to try getting certified and you don't have to worry about losing the large sum of money if you don't make it. I feel like I'm also very comfortable with all of the skills needed but am just held back by my ears! thank you Mike and Gypsy.
