Even during the pandemic, Goldfish found a way to safely remain open without making things weird for the children. The class sizes are 4:1. I really liked it during the pandemic because it shrunk to 3:1 and gave the kids more time in the pool during their 30 min lessons. They are back to 4:1 now but It's not really a big issue unless one of the kids in your class messes around too much. The managers and owners are really down to earth and easy to talk to if you feel like you have an issue. They take your concerns seriously and understand that sometimes your child might not match well with the instructor scheduled, so moving to another class/time might work better for your child. They offer open swim for members which is great. We live pretty far and don't have access to a pool regularly, so we try to get to open swim when we can. Hopefully, they will add more open swim times and/or bring it back on Saturdays. Overall, 10/10 definitely recommend!

Well, this means you didn't have to go twice a week to make up for what you didn't have the chance to do originally. This is not what we were told when we purchased. I went back back-and-forth, whether I should post or not. We have chosen to go to a different place because we felt lied to and cheated out of a lot of money. I would not recommend this company anymore, and I hope they change their business practices to something more ethical.

She fairly scared of getting her head under water, hated getting her head wet, and was brand new to this at first. In just a couple weeks, Rachel gave her the skills and confidence to thrive and accept new challenges. I was continually impressed by Rachel's calm, kind, supportive approach with each kiddo I saw her with - she was always comforting and understanding - yet challenging because she knew each kiddo's limits and abilities. I am so grateful for PhD Swim - every coach seems so encouraging and knowledgeable about both swimming and kids. We have enrolled in the next stage at PhD Swim and I couldn't be more thrilled. I know my daughter can survive if in a dangerous water situation, which was what was most important to me, but I also know she learned a ton in such a supportive environment along the way. I'd also like to add that PhD Swim is has been very impressive regarding covid protocols. Every adult - both parents and teachers - remain fully masked every second they are in the room, and kiddos are generally masked unless they are in the pool. The small classes and low number of kiddos/families in there at any time is very reassuring. I was looking for a place with a warm pool to compete adult swim lessons this past winter. I looked…read moreat several schools but it came down to availability. It is very hard to get into swim classes in this area because the classes are so small. I looked for over a year. I had a personal challenge because I don't work a traditional 9 to 5, Monday through Friday job. These classes are only available the same day each week for a calendar month. There's no flexibility with a group class which I understand. So, I lucked up and found an opening. Somehow, I didn't have any night shifts on Mondays for 3 months straight. I knew I would need more than 1 month of lessons. I think there's a minimum of 2 months. I loved the warm pool. The instructors were warm, welcoming, and most importantly patient. I learned something new from each one. I do wish the pool was deeper so I could have learned to tread water though. Of note, most of the instructors are used to teaching children so communication of swim techniques can be a challenge for them. Meaning, kids process information differently than adults. I think more attention could be on training the swim instructors on adult learners. I had a great experience here and would recommend this training facility. Adults, there's no locker room. There are changing rooms with privacy and cubby holes to put your belongings. The pool has a glass wall. If you are shy, particularly with people watching you learn, then know that there will be parents observing their children in the pool during your lesson. A con to sharing the pool is space especially when practicing swim strokes.

He learned how to move his arms and legs and she even let go and we watched him swim on his own a bit for the very first time! We watched him have so much progress in just 10 minutes here than the few months he did at a different swim school. The instructor was so sweet, lots of smiles and high fives, checking on him and making sure he was comfortable and that he felt safe. He learned so much in just one visit. The facility is really nice, lots of decorations for the kids, plenty of room in the changing rooms, a dryer to dry swim clothes in seconds, snacks, and diapers, swim gear you can buy, they've pretty much thought of everything. I highly recommend this swim school.

I filed a complaint with the USA Swimming Safe Sport and with the U.S. Center for SafeSport. However, neither of these organizations can take action against the rough coaches and the school because it is a private institution and falls outside the jurisdiction of any organization that could halt their dangerous practices. They will continue to lie on their website by stating "Safety first" while simultaneously forcing your screaming child underwater. They scared my 4-year-old. She screamed and was actively resisting, but the coach just took her and threw her into the water. I could see she was suffocating for a moment because he just forced her under water while she screamed. So lovely for a first lesson ever. How do I convince her now that swimming is fun? Coach Lucas doesn't know what he is doing at all. Disappoinment. I regret I brought my kid there.
