I did not hire this company for my 150K dirt to Disneyland backyard transformation. Got a call at the scheduled appointment time notifying previous meeting ran over by 45 minutes and the sales guy was 45 minutes out. As a commercial GC, communication and planning is key. Yes I run late to meetings but have hard stops on time and never miss by more than 10 minutes. My potential customers time is valuable and is treated as such, especially on weekends when most folks work Monday thru Friday. Calling at scheduled appointment time to say I need another 45 minutes due to another meeting ending late does not sit well with someone you are trying to earn their business. If the company looking for work cannot make the scheduled appointment time scheduled ffrom last week, what does that say about the culture of the company and how their projects are ran? They did a great job on my deck and xeriscape project. They were too pricey though for me to do the rest of the design.

We had allied come out to add more space to our patio area. A spot in our yard had a hard time growing grass and was a mud pit every time it rained, so we decided to extend our patio and make another seating area. Like always, Allied provided us with great service. Chad Lee made sure he was able to fit what we wanted into our budget. The best part of the project was the Carvestone crew seamlessly integrated the color and style of our existing Carvestone. A perfect match. read more

Do not use this company. These folks will leave you with a mess and denials. They are in business to get your money and they did not care how they do that. You sign a contract with company you will be sorry because they do sloppy, non standard, shoddy workmanship and you will be left with nothing and they will deny any wrong doing. If they settle with you it will be a settlement which will benefit them and not you even though you have been harmed. These folks do not deserve to be in business. Do not call them. After Devon made the sale and reassured me he would remain point of contact this was not the case. I seeked this because I have been an independent contractor and worked with companies and the best salesman will see the job through as it is the product he is selling. After Devon came we met with Devon and the closer with pricing. Items Devon said included all the sudden had an additional price. Getting through this I should have pulled the plug and not continues as I seeked legal counsel even to make sure we would not be stuck with any fees as the business side was sly and shady. Devon was with us through the picking of colors. We had to reschedule when to meet him at the tile/plaster store location and he was a no show. We went through asking questions with the workers there, who are wholesale so didn't want to mess with customers but we got our colors picked for plaster, tile, and stone. No allied employee to assist. Concrete pours were made with new slabs. drainage connected to system currently in place. Was not checked if connected. Two drains added and uneven with surface. holes not filled in and plugged with a puddy, which we now are fixing from filling out a google form with Allied and paying $200. Holes are from where a rail was removed and in our plans to be filled but it was not filled and carvestone crew could not wait. Also low spot(dip) where we had a run off slope, so now water settles and puddles up next to spa. Our tree drops several leaves and acorns and was discussed in process. In end we decided to keep tree and when plaster was put down some stains occured before we could brush it. We were told by Cole not to worry once we can clean it, they would come off. Not the case stains from acorns in spa and pool. BIGGEST FRUSTRATION- NO FINAL WALK THROUGH WITH SATISFACTION OR DISCUSSION OF NEXT STEPS, JUST SIGN HERE SO WE CAN COLLECT DEVON - only here for the sale. COLE - became foreman - acted shocked what we were sold by Devon certain items that were not additional cost. Discussions about that, some led to additional fees some we had documentation of proof it was not additional. ERNESTO - behind the phone and no true understanding of frustration and could not answer our questions. PABLO - concrete guy, do not recall many conversations. MIGUEL - site manage was good and answered questions but can never get in touch with him because we never got his number. Everyone became a ghost once job done and now within our time and items not fixed or up to par and safety concerns but not getting people out because we all say its someone elses job......I'm sorry didn't we hire Allied Outdoor and if you choose to outsource your work it is still your product. Do not use this company. Their product does not last and requires annual maintenance to look like it did when installed. Sealer wears off in the Texas sun in about 4 months and turns an ugly dark which hides the color. Our installation is 6 years old and cracking. PM if you need more details. They rectified the issues that were most pressing to our being satisfied with the product. Warning everyone who decides to hire Allied company to do any project to the pool deck or the concrete work. My personal experience is horrible, began in December, finished in June, and, my bad, is going to continue soon again because month later the deck start sinking and the surf already has a lot of cracks! When I mentioned this situation to the project manager, he told me that will send someone to check it. No one shows up or at least contact me... From start to finish these guys did a great job. We added some concrete to our existing patio and then had Allied install the Carvestone over the river pebble decking. Ben and Steve kept me updated every step of the way, including during a very long delay that was on us and out of their control. Reuben did the Carvestone and it came out great. Reuben was patient and answered all of our questions and even let my daughters make hand and footprints in the deck which they were absolutely thrilled about. We have pool fencing which Reuben took down and worked around all of the holes and then put the fence back. It was seamless and we feel like we got a new backyard. We also had the steps leading up to the front of our house done and we have received compliments strangers in the neighborhood who noticed it on their walks. We would definely recommend. read more

They don't build to last. We purchased a home in April 2023 that Allied had installed an aluminum patio cover to in October of 2022. By May I had found that most of the segments are leaking when it rained, the drainage isn't working correctly and water builds on the roof, and the gutter that is on the roofline was left uncapped causing water to build up and leak on the corner and run down the outside of the house. The roof slats seem to be caulked together. I called to ask for maintenance and they stated the warranty doesn't transfer to a new owner. I have the original invoice and they charged 52K to build this cover and it needs multiple fixes in less than 9 months. They wanted to charge me $1k to come out and repair it. I opened a BBB case as they had BBB logo on their invoice but seem to not be accredited any longer. read more

RUN from this company. Check their BBB rating just to be sure. Absolute worst construction experience we've had on every level, in 25 years of home ownership including building two custom new homes. Literally every step went horribly wrong (on a simple pool remodel, that took well over TWO YEARS!) We worked with a few good folks as far as project managers but the overall culture of the company and customer service is a joke. All subs messed up royally, many were fired, but we were left to pay for it and they tried to act like it was somehow on us. Don't be fooled by these photos, it's not what they deliver to average customers. After TWO years we finally just settled to be done with them. The job is a mess. The spillway from the spa doesn't work right after multiple attempts to "fix" it, it's hideous. Their response is that it "functions well enough". The Carvestone product they use on the decking is a joke. It looks like a faux paint job inside a Cheesecake factory. The color is not at all what we wanted or asked for, and they made a huge mess. We hired Allied to pour new concreate and install their carvestone product on our pool decking 5 months ago. Saw an issue right away with the conrete they poured was not pushing the water off correctly so it was sitting and pooling. Now I am starting to see chipping in 3 spots of Carvestone. When I contacted them about the water pooling their solution is to demo a small area and then they say the carvestone will not match 100% and other issues could arise from it. I paid almost 20K and the attention to detail is just not there. Then to get a project manager to respond to an email takes days and followups before they respond. I 100% regret going with them due to poor workmanship and their customer service. On top of it since I put in the warranty claim for carvestone it takes over 4 weeks according to them to get a call to schedule someone to come out and look at the chipping in the carvestone. We went with Allied Outdoor Solutions thinking we would get a stress free, hassle free, laid back experience. After shopping around with several competitors with thought paying extra would be worth it, seeing the pictures on their website and the sale consultant really painted the perfect picture. The Sales Consultant assured us this would be an easy turn around project being we did not need any city permits mentioned our turn around would be quick and they were eager to start. Once we picked what was important to us and everything was drawn out for us we were super excited to get started. By the follow week the team was out framing our cement and laying the flower bed foundation. First issue started when the subcontractors left a mess and a pile of dirt on our grass which started drying it out (middle of summer), soda cans and water bottles were left behind. (was not much for us to pick up however not clean) The first out of 3 times the flower bed was redone due to us noticing the issues not the project manager, the limestone we picked was slapped together with dark grey cement. They apologized and had someone come redo it, 2nd time it was complete the stones were set EXTREMELY crooked had to contact them once again. 3rd time the 6inch exposed limestone edging was exposed higher in some areas than other and was told it was leveled an to their standards. (not what was sold to us by the sales consultant overall exposure of the flower bed was to be 6in exposure) When our kitchen was installed the masonry did an amazing job its truly the only thing we are happy with, however the $4K grill we ordered arrived damaged and had to get it replaced was not sent tracking but were asked to stay alert as they just drop it off without notifying. The concrete work that was set was very messy and the expanders that were set between the slabs are different colors which looks very elementary. What ended up being something we had been very much excited about getting done in our backyard has become more of a hassle and head ache. Spoke to a sales consultant, project coordinator, project manager, customer experience manager, and lastly the project managers supervisor who was no help and never even heard of until last week. (being 8 weeks into the "short" project) Them trying to make it right was offering us a dinner gift card when all we wanted was our backyard to be done the way it was sold to us. OVERALL we decided to cut ties and take the loss as they were EXTREMELY eager to close out contract to receive their cut. WILL NEVER AGAIN use a "TRUSTED" company like Allied Solutions again. We contacted this company when we thought we were going to move to another city. They gave us a an estimate, and we decided if we were going to move that we wanted to have a cement patio. Sometime had passed and they continue to contact us. I tried to have another few people come out to lay down some flagstone, but it seem to fall through. When we did not move, we decided to go with the cement patio because of a moisture problem. The crew came out to look at the property, they said they would be in contact. Several weeks past and I did not hear from them, I called the sales person to try to cancel. That's when they all started springing into action. Looking back, at this point, I truly wish I had canceled. They started to lay the concrete and when they were about finished with it, I really did not like the product. The manager, Carlos, was a little upset with me and told me that the pressed cement was beautiful. I think where the breakdown was that I was confused on the product. They did not clearly explain that the exact product that I was getting. I was under the impression that I was going to have a carved stone which looks more like flagstone. This company is terrible with communication. They will let weeks and weeks go by before you can before you hear from them. When I called the home office the secretary was very rude. Later, I discovered that they never presented me with a new contract. I had to use the old contract that I had on file to pay them. I still am not happy with this patio. I guess I'm gonna have to put some lipstick on the pig to spruce up the patio in the spring. Basically, I paid all this money for a product that I have to cover up. How disappointing! read more

Do not use Allied. I signed with them to build an outdoor kitchen and install carvestone back in May 2022 - the kitchen still isn't complete and carvestone has yet to even start. When I signed off on the job, I was told they would start in early June and finish in July, and it's currently late August with a lot of remaining work to be done. Throughout the kitchen build process, the concrete install had to be fixed, electrical work had to be adjusted, and the granite install wasn't square with the base and both stone base and granite were damaged. To sum it up, the job is taking forever (and still not done) which has put a huge burden on my life and time, communication has been the absolute worst, and corners continue to be cut. This has been an awful construction project experience (definitely the worst I've ever had) and would highly recommend using another company for your outdoor job. read more

This is the type of post I hate to create, but the idea of someone else swindled on their Carvestone project makes me ill. Hopefully our experience will better inform the next person who is trying to make a decision about whether to use Allied Outdoor Solutions for their home improvement project. We engaged with Allied last summer to cover up the aggregate material on our back patio, pool deck, and front walkway. While the sales process was smooth, the project management and workmanship left us with a bad taste in our mouth. We justified the experience to ourselves as we both have high standards, we were both in a stressful moment at work, and ended up compromising just to get the project complete. We refrained from writing a public review at the time - we didn't want the heat of the moment to influence someone else's decision. We regret that now. Fast forward nine months. We have significant chipping and flaking of the Carvestone material across the entire backyard and front walkway. The filler has sunk into the pavement, creating trip hazards. The clear protective coat isn't uniform and has actually lead to some staining from the crepe myrtles surrounding the pool. We expect some wear & tear, especially after all the rain we've had this spring, but not to this extent - and certainly not this quickly. The final straw: we submitted a warranty claim about a month ago, and despite repeated attempts to get into touch with someone, there's been no response. I recognize that this pandemic may delay some work due to increased health precautions, but these organizations were listed as "essential businesses" - it's likely they've not lost a day of work. Picking up the phone or sending an email isn't out of the ordinary, even while working from home. Facing no other options and a total lack of communication from Allied, we're sad to say that we'll have to escalate this and potentially eat the cost of repairs via another construction company. We recognize all construction projects come with a "buyer beware", and in this case, we hope others don't make the same mistake we did. read more

Blake is our PM and he never returns our calls and I have to chase him to reply to emails. It took Allied Outdoor Solutions over 3 months to get a permit filed correctly with Colleyville for an outdoor patio pad and to place a built in grill on out existing patio which already has a gas line. I hope this isn't a reflection on their quality of work based on Blake's professionalism. Clint was our sales rep and and put together the renderings for our project. I recently (1 month ago) used Allied Outdoor Solutions for Carvestone which was supposed to be a premium and proprietary product based on their marketing material. I was also going to use them on a complete outdoor kitchen living area but the initial customer experience dwindled as the process went on. The initial salesperson Sam was fantastic and his character and design chops were what really got me excited to use them. I wanted to be cautious at first so I moved forward with doing about 800sqft of concrete overlay which should be a simple job. What I paid for was a premium product and experience and what I got was just a standard overlay product masked as premium and a pass the buck follow through. The "Carvestone Guru" Ben hit me with all kinds of disclosures prior to starting work which made me nervous right out of the gate and then after the job was complete I went through my punch list of concern items including some damaged areas and was met by Pablo who would only address the damage they did to my home during the install and a sore thumb spot that needed to be refilled. When my concerns weren't addressed adequately I decided to move on and choose another company for the larger project. I learned later that Sam left the company. I thought for the premium I was paying over many bids that I would get a "white glove" experience but I was mistaken. I'd recommend using another company that is more focused on customer experience. read more

I do not recommend this Company. We experienced too many issues with the workman ship, and trying to get the Company to be responsive in a timely manner has been a nightmare. We acted in good faith, paid in full, but when issues in the workmanship appeared and corrections needed, we had to keep calling, and texting. It became exhausting trying to get this Company to correct the issues. We were not given complete information upon our initial consultation. We had to ask for more information. The workmanship was not neat, and on several occasions the job had to be re-done, but the Company could never get it right. Also, if we did not call we were simply forgotten about. One year in from the date of our initial contract we were still trying to get our issues resolved, but to no avail. Finally, we gave up, and told the Company to not come back! We signed up for Carvestone. After we learned about the maintenance (on our own) required for Carvestone we decided against it. Instead we chose to just have a solid color. The Company suggested that a solid color with texture would be best, and because we thought that they knew better about their product than we did, we accepted. Well, this is where our problems began. All started out well, until the product dried. Some of the surface area dried with a white grayish ashyness, and it was very obvious. One of the workers said he could not explain why, and that they would fix it. Problem was that they could never fix it. It became fix after fix, trying to color fix again and again. Also, the concrete around the base of the patio ( that we had to bring to their attention) dried messy. and we even tried to chip it off on our own because the Company just took too long in following-up with us. In short, we are now left (again) with an uneven color/red discoloration. A Supervisor came out to look, and said, "well, if we try to correct it, it might get even redder." It was very disappointing because this Company should know how their product behaves when applied and dries. Any coloring should be consistent. Our color choice was not Red. Each time we look at our patio that Red area is obvious and is noticed as a mistake- you look at it and realize that something went wrong. We are not satisfied customers, and do not feel that this company valued us or our business. A Supervisor said, "if we did not care we would not be out here.," It took numerous calls, texts and complaints to get attention. Basically, the Company was unresponsive to our calls and text, so we complained (again). We were not treated as a priority, and felt the Company did not care. Here we are 1 year later, and the red discoloration on the patio remains. We just gave up with this Company. Recently. I was told that the person who did the work would return, and that the Company would call me to let me know when. Well, at the end of their business day the Company called me to say the person will be at my home in about 15 minutes. I was not at home, and would have been at home if the Company had given me some advance notice. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and no customer should be treated in such a manner! We acted in good faith all along the way believing that ultimately we would have a great looking patio. We do not. The Company has our money, and we are left with unsatisfactory workmanship. We have gone through too much with this Company. Our patio will have to be re-done. It is unfortunate. I do not recommend this Company to anyone! read more

I've tried waiting to post this experience with Allied, but I cannot wait any longer. It has been one month since the structure Allied Outdoor Solutions built onto my house has collapsed. The pergola patio was not dialed into the home's studs and it fell when Allied contractors arrived on scene to climb up and fix a leak on the structure. We signed onto this project in November 2020 with goal of completion April 2021 at the latest. Needless to say, that did not happen. The only progress regarding fixing and rebuilding the structure (which we are still expected/anticipating to pay full price despite these damages and delays) has been removal of the collapsed structure (but some still remains on property) and delivery of other materials and scaffolding that have no estimated time of being used, essentially being stored on our property and rendering portions of our yard unable to use. Also, the collapse ripped off part of our home's siding, leaving a small portion exposed to the elements this entire time. All discussion regarding when and how it will be fixed is either vague or unacceptable. Vague in terms of no estimated completion, constantly being told two days from now work will begin or next week, etc. etc. Unacceptable in terms of using material which won't match the rest of the homes siding or leaving a seam from old siding to new while the new siding will be a different size so it won't match perfectly. All that being said, my husband and I are anticipating still paying the full amount for the project, but there seems to be no urgency on Allied's end regarding fixing their dangerous mistake which thankfully ended up with no one being harmed during the collapse. My husband and I are reasonable people. We know mistakes happen. The measure of a company is what they do to fix their mistakes. Right now, Allied Outdoor Solutions measures very low and I would not recommend them. I'll happily update this review when they finally get around to fixing their mistake and building our new structure. However, I'm disappointed to say that although we were sold on Allied based on their claims of excellent service and high satisfaction, we feel "had" and we fear the solution won't take place anytime soon. We needed serious work done in our backyard. It was essentially never visited...just a place to let the dog out and also do some grilling...never lingered there very long. As our house is somewhat small, some additional living space was needed. Enter Allied Outdoor Solutions. We had a design in mind and Garrett Hardy, the project manager, made it happen. He and his crew transformed our backyard into actual living space. My wife and I spend most of our time out here now and absolutely love it. We've commented a number of times how it was well worth the investment. Flash forward 2 years to 2020. Our front walkway and steps were in serious need of replacement. Needless to say, we called Allied Outdoor Solutions for a quote. Richard Rogers, the project consultant, came in with great ideas and a plan to match what we envisioned. Rich had excellent suggestions on the build plan and, in the span of 3 days, Chris Wise, the project manager, and his crew knocked it out - and knocked it out of the park. The results speak for themselves. We are now thinking of a garage extension or portico in back for our cars. Allied Outdoor Solutions will be at the top of our list to do the work. In April / May decking already showing extreme wear signs (when wet). First signs of a problem: After some Spring rain, the decking looked blotchy (darkening in areas} and showed spiderweb cracks all over. Also, preexisting decking that was re-sealed as part of the contract was also not performing ( i.e. the sealing job was flawed ) Timeline / experience 1) Initial sales engagement was polished and professional. 2) Installation was sketchy and suspect. ...the foreman/lead worker took many shortcuts and lacked customer skills: The stripping job left large areas of old decking (maybe irrelevant but not confidence inspiring) He asked to store materials in my garage because it might rain. He asked to borrow/use my leaf blower because he did not bring his. He used all my gas and then asked for more...there was no more Then proceeded to seal deck ( probably before it was dry/ready). Complained about being tired because the previous job was really hard. He moved my pool chairs on top of bushes and and least 2 flower pots were broken in that move process. He pretty much exhibited the worst customer skills/etiquette I have ever seen ... for the perceived caliber of the company they were representing. Aside: When the warranty rep came to my house I told him about the installation experience and he told me that foreman was fired for related reasons. 3) Warranty at request ~5-months was initially well handled ... rep came out and basically said that it should not look this bad so soon, etc. He also said ht ere-seal of existing deal needed to be redone ( I assumed he was accepting the cost). He said he had to get back to me about the Carvestone spider cracking and (apparent) seal issue ... Then I got dead air / no response from the rep. I left several VMs and emails. 4) Secondary warranty response only went as far as the automated "our rep will contact you" 5) Emailed re: second warranty request and never get a response. Called customer support to follow up ... talked to 'receptionist' ... sent to voice mail ... left detailed callback info .... no return call. When dry, the decking looks awesome. After some rain or water from pool activity it looks like it is very old. This seems like there was a problem with the sealing process ... but maybe it is more flawed than that since they won't respond. They could at least just say "Mr. customer. Your decking needs to be resealed. This is not covered under warranty but we can do it for you for $$" ... but, no, not even a peep. I know the warranty does not cover sealing. But when you pay $__,___ you would think the seal would last more than 4 or 5 months, right? What do I want? State in writing your assessment of the state of my installation. I called Allied Outdoor Solutions after I heard an ad for the company on the Michael Berry show. I needed bulkhead work around my pool deck and some other concrete work as well as an outdoor kitchen slab. The first person who came out in late April was Ryan. He understood what I wanted done and wrote everything up for me. He told me they were back logged by about 8-10 weeks, but that was fine with me. The next person who came out was the project manager Brad, he works directly with the crew and he wanted to go over Ryan's drawings and work quote. The crew were ahead of schedule so they actually started earlier than I thought they would. The first day they were here, I stayed a few hours and was very impressed by how quickly they had framed everything out. We had bad weather for about a month so I would stay in touch with the crew and let them know if it was raining or not, I live in Galveston and they were coming from North Houston. The work took longer than expected, but that was due to the weather. I am extremely happy with my final project. The coping that was replaced is a little off color, but you can't really match new lots of coping to 15 year old coping. It will fade with time. The concrete work is amazing and looks like it was part of the original pool. The one negative was that the crew did not do a very good job of cleaning up when they were finished. Allied called for the final walk through and I told them this. One of the guys from the crew came back and took care of it, including laying new sod. A seemingly small but very important point that I made to Ryan and then to Brad was a particular plant in our raised bed that was right on the edge of where a new bulkhead would be placed. I told them that the plant was extremely important to my wife because it was her late mom's. I was impressed with their swift and courteous response to our request for an estimate. Our salesman, Richard Hillier, was outstanding! He was pleasant, humorous, but very professional, even for a Devil Dawg. The estimate probably went longer than normal just because of us getting along so well. He surveyed our property, wrote down the dimensions, and then listened to everything we had to say. He offered suggestions where we were unsure of what exactly we wanted and never tried to up-sale us on anything. Their financing plan seems to be a great benefit as well. Second review is for the company overall. There were a few hiccups throughout the process that in all honesty, I expected due to so many moving parts. However, there were some mishaps that I would have liked to say turned out differently. When presented to upper management, they decided they weren't responsible for the simple repair and in light of that, I did not bring the second issue to their attention. This is our first home and first renovation to go through so I'm assuming it's just added costs of completing our project. It has been about 12 weeks since we did the final walk through and made final payment. During construction and during that walk through I expressed some concerns with the caulking work. My concerns were justified as there have been some issues come up with it as well as an outlet that's not working. I'll be reaching out on those items soon. We do plan to do some work in the future to our front porch and we're hoping Allied Outdoor Solutions can make things right (just as they did for their previous customers per the reviews) so we can use them again as we are happy with the structural work and overall look. Although there are some cosmetic items I'm not 100% satisfied with, we have received compliments from family and friends and we are enjoying our new outdoor space.
