We ordered a countertop with an OG edge (OG cost extra) from FMI on 12/28/2023, for our home project that started on 2/19/2024. After waiting weeks for FMI to come in and install a relatively small kitchen countertop corner area, and peninsula: one guy finally shows up, installs the wrong edged material in the peninsula, realizes the rest of the material was measured and cut incorrectly, and just leaves. We didn't find out what happened until 5:30pm that evening, when my mother got home from work and called me to ask why nothing was done right - including no OG edge, for which we paid extra. They had one job and got it completely wrong on day one. What's worse is that the construction workers did not go in that day, to give the countertop installer enough room to work (it's a small kitchen). So, an entire day of the project was completely wasted. We then wait another 2 weeks. Less than two days before they're scheduled to come back for the installation, we get a notice from FMI that they suddenly cannot make the date work and are "going to try to come in next Tuesday or Wednesday." Going to try. Next Tuesday OR Wednesday. Because of this second set-back from FMI, we have to once again push all other items further out than originally planned. At this point, FMI has single-handedly delayed a project that would have wrapped up in 3 months. Every other vendor has delivered on or before schedule. But we have spent weeks waiting for FMI to deliver on a project they assured us was well within their scope of expertise - of course, however, not before taking our money upfront. And we're still waiting.

This time I had the chance to work with Elsa and I was blown away by the level of expertise. Just some simple measurements and she was able to build out my entire kitchen without ever stepping foot into it. She knew how to layout a kitchen with her eyes closed and knew exactly the problems I had without even asking. She nailed every measurement and design and when it came time to actually measuring our my space, barely anything changed. She is that good. They worked with me and my contractor every step of the way. Very responsive and very supportive - from my sink, to the fridge, to the stove vent, she was patient, answered all my questions, provided recommendations and was never pushy about anything. The quality was fantastic, her teams are all experts, and we could not be happier. Best of all, there was no need to "shop around." She gave me the best price up front and it was one that can't be beat. She had every timing set from cabinet design, order to delivery and countertop measurements and install. After visiting another locale two weeks ago, we came here this past Saturday. What a difference. We were greeted, by Alex, immediately upon coming in. We explained what we were looking to do, he then came out with us and showed us the many options outside, as well as some recommendations and ideas for both the floor tile, and wall tile. His enthusiasm for what he does was also evident. Answered all of our questions, and provided additional feedback we hadn't considered. We walked away knowing more about our project than we did when we came in. Alex didn't just point us outside. Further, when my wife went back in to grab a catalog, he used her name. This is the sort of thing you want to see from a business. Unfortunately, not enough of them bother. I've been told by our contractor that their prices are competitive, but this is not the reason for this review. This is a business that "gets it". Installation was great. Three guys who knew what they were doing and who cut up the old carpeting (saving me a piece which I asked them to do). They came on time and worked continuously until finished. I am very happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend them.
