Who charges for an estimate to replace a watch crystal??? Quote: "leave the watch with me. It will take a month for my watch guy to look at it and it will be $15 for an estimate". I was a repeat customer having been there in the last few weeks to replace a watch battery and have a piece of trim reaffixed to the inside of the watch. I was charged for them to reaffix the trim piece, which subsequently fell back off. Hopefully they have more business than they need. I will not be returning. ITS NOT A HIGH END WATCH. read more

Please be cautious about taking your jewelry here. We brought in a ring that has a beautiful diamond that is almost a full carat, set in a thick wide gold band. We asked them the value of the ring and they quoted us $333! Couldn't believe they low-balled us so much. And, they said that their offer was only good until 6pm that day. Took it to another jeweler who valued it at $3400. Big difference. Of course, that was retail value, but the diamond alone clearly could be sold for more than $333. Should have known something was not right when they kept discreetly looking at each other and giving a slight nod. Take your business elsewhere. read more

When I expressed my disappointment and surprise I got an uninterested shrug from the employee. It is sad when a local business is unconcerned with those long-time customers who recommended them to others. I had taken my timepiece to other places, and they could not fix it. I was told that the link was put in place by a screw not a pin at Alliance Jewelers. I gave it to them and they had it ready the same day. Fantastic staff, friendly as can be and very professional. This is the only place I will take my timepieces and my wife's jewelry. Took my 28 yer old TAG Heuer in as the second hand had gone spastic. It was keeping time though, so I figured it was a mechanical issue requiring some repair. They could have easily agreed with that diagnosis and taken it in for yada yada yada, and who knows what and charged a bundle. But the kind woman at the counter said, I bet its just the battery. Bought my 14k gold chain in because the close clasp broke. Paid $45. For a new one. They kept my old one and gave me a smaller one so my cross keeps getting caught on it. He then claimed to fill in the extend clasp with gold(but it is black) so the cross won't get caught. All I wanted was a new clasp the same size as my old one. Great local business that can pretty much take care of most jewelry related needs- cleaning, repair, battery replacement- all at a reasonable price. There are two specialists that have unique talents to care for your time pieces and jewelry. The nice woman who manages the shop was super friendly and not at all pushy with the services offered. There's a decent selection of Citizen watches and also custom jewelry to browse. I saw quite a few relics that were either "on display", or perhaps being refinished/repaired by the shop. They clean/flash jewelry as well- I was quoted the total clean package for a wedding ring starts around $50 (which is competitive) and they can usually have it ready same day. All cleaning and repairs take place on-site- they do not ship to another vendor to handle the "dirty work". I'm all about supporting local business, so I felt good handing over my money to Alliance Jeweler. I'd hope you will do the same if you are in quick need of their services. read more

Seems they melted it down before giving me a price and informed me that they used its value as payment for the ring being sized without prior discussion. This jeweler is a true gem! I went in to consult about resetting/remaking my ring. Jeff took time to talk through all sorts of options and gave his advice on what would make it more comfortable, durable, etc. I ultimately decided to sell the ring and will be taking my buyer there today to meet Jeff and begin his relationship with this awesome establishment.
