As soon as I walked in the door 18 years ago I found the most beautiful ring setting and they put my Princess diamond in it to create a spectacular one of a kind piece of art that my wife has continued to get countless compliments even to this day !!!! I would say if you are looking for alterations or custom work then look else where. January of this year I took my wife's wedding ring there to have 2 stones removed and the stones made into necklaces for my daughters and was told 2 weeks. 2 weeks went by and I didnt hear anything. So week 4 I called to ask what was going on and they had the ring done but they apologized and said give us another couple weeks on the necklaces. So I did, a couple weeks later, when I didnt hear from them I called and they sounded like they didnt know what I was talking about and finally came around to remembering and said its not done and they would let me know when they were ready. Now 8 months later there has been no word or contact from them. Its like they are gone with the wind. DONT BOTHER GO ELSEWHERE! read more

In the past they have done work for me and they were fantastic. I hope this incident described below was only a fluke. Today is Aug 1, 2022, On Apr 18th I took 2 watches in for "repairs". The first watch was to have a button re-attached, re-attache the band and install a battery. The second watch I wanted a watch band attached. The first watch had to be worked on again when they gave it to me. The watch band had a problem with the band. They fixed it on the spot. The second watch I was told over and over that they couldn't get a band. Today, they said the company discontinued the line of bands. They will call me when a band comes it. As far as calling me that would be amazing. Throughout the repair I had to find out the status of the items. They said they will call me back (everytime) in a few minutes. They never called back. I would wait up to an hour and always had to call back. The only time they called me back is when I complained to the manager. And, he did call me back. So over 3 1/2 months to get one watch and the second is still not fixed. Good thing they didn't follow their own rule about "not responsible for items left over 60 days". An apology would have gone a long way but, they never apologized for the delay or my inconvenience. I will never visit them again. read more

A moment ago I brought my wedding ring in because 2 of the prongs holding the diamond and got hung up on a string and when i jerked back it had slightly bend the prongs holding the diamond. I had noticed they felt sharp. As before I brought to this location because they had also attached my wedding ring and band as well as appraised it for me. Excellent work before so I knew this was the place for all my jewelry needs. The lady up front recommended to get all 4 prongs replaced costing only $8.00 a piece I was like wow great price and recommendation. She also recommended to get it redipped thr white gold had worn down some. I picked up the ring today, yes only had to wait a day. My ring looked brand new. I had to meet the man who completed this work and hug him because I was absolutely amazed!!! They knew I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the work that had been done. Total price for everything $144.00 thats a very good price for the detail of work they had done. Im so impressed and recommended anyone who need jewelry, appraisals and jewelry work to please let this be the place for all your needs. I used Metro Custom Jewels for the first time this past Saturday. I was very pleasantly surprised! I had a cherished, but broken necklace that commemorated my husband surviving a deadly incident. The necklace broke some years back, and while I intended to have it fixed, I had never gotten around to it. This past weekend was the 20th anniversary of my husband still...well, being alive for his family and friends. I suddenly remembered the necklace at the last minute and did a somewhat frantic Google search. I found Metro Custom Jewelers and took the necklace in, hoping for a repair before the store closing at 5pm. I wanted to present it to my husband that night because I knew it would surprise him and make the day special. I walked in and was met by a very kind and professional woman named Liz. She immediately understood my rather desperate and hurried request. She took to heart it was important to me, though I didn't mention why. Liz called me just a few hours later to say the necklace was fixed. I made it back to the store just before closing to pick up my prize - and what a prize (and surprise!) it was! The necklace was not only fixed beautifully, but solid reinforcements had been made around the clasp as well. Then the crowning glory was how Ruben (the owner of the store and the person that repaired my necklace) had made the hook holding the pendant even stronger. The necklace and pendant had been cleaned and polished to sparkle like new and the entire piece was just....BEAUTIFUL. I was in such a hurry when I dropped off the necklace I had just told Liz to "Do what you think needs done. I trust you". I put my trust in the right place. Liz charged me a more than fair price (actually, a great deal) then cleaned my wedding ring for free as my payment processed. The store was closing and Ruben (along with another nice man who's name I wish I would've asked) came to say goodbye and listen to the story of the necklace. This was such a great experience. I felt like I made new friends. I'll be back for sure - I'm excited to bring in an heirloom ring to see what ideas Ruben might suggest for it as far as repurposing it into another piece of jewelry. They resized my fiancées rings great, but blemished the face of my watch in 2 areas when they replaced the crystal face. They took a marker to write in the scraped dial to make the 3 legible without telling me. They called to say it was finished but didn't mention their mistake at all. read more

Metro Custom Jewelers made me an absolutely STUNNING engagement ring. I didn't have any idea what I was doing when it came to finding an engagement ring. For a 25 year old guy its a daunting task and one of the biggest purchases I have ever made. I first tried a jeweler from a large company and felt uneasy about the whole situation. The stereotypical pressure to buy something out of my price range. Little to no explanation about quality size and price. Essentially I learned only that nicer=more expensive. When I went to Metro custom jewelers, I felt much more comfortable with the purchase and whole process. The staff was very kind and understanding that I didn't know anything about diamonds. After looking through some options I was offered a fair price the ring was ready to go for me within a few weeks. I spent about as much as I would have at the large jewelry store but the quality and craftsmanship of the custom engagement ring I got blew me (and my Fiancée) away. the crown came apart from the stem on my tag hauer watch. I took it here bc it was close to my house. They farmed out the labor to their "watch guy" and it took 3 months to get it back. Wore it 3 times and the crown came off again. Took it back and they refused to warranty their work, as it was passed their 30 day policy or whatever. If you want something fixed once and correctly take it somewhere else. These folks wont stand behind their work, instead they hide behind the fine print. what a bummer... read more

My sweet husband took my pearl necklace that my mother had passed down to me shortly before her death to have the clasp replaced so I could wear them again (they had been in my jewelry box for 5 years, for fear I would lose them due to the insecure clasp). The lady recommended having them restrung as well, which my husband agreed to do (after all, they are supposed to be the experts). After promising my husband they would be ready for Christmas, he left my precious strand of pearls in their care. On Jan 8 (yes, Jan 8), they finally had them ready for pick up (after my husband had called multiple times with no results). He picked them up and brought them home to me. My heart sank when I looked at them. Each and every pearl was scratched to some degree, as if they had been placed in some type of vice. When my husband returned to the jewelry store, they denied damaging the pearls. Excuse after excuse of how they aren't responsible for damaging them. Liz laughed and tried to change the subject multiple times. She offered to restring the pearls again and put the "less damaged" pearls in the front. Of course, there was no way in hell she was going to touch my mother's pearls again. She even had the audacity to say , "Well, they're old".....Seriously? That's how you treat someone's delicate, priceless jewelry? Like they are disposable, old, junk? Oh, and my husband had made an appointment to speak with Reuben, but he did not have the balls to show his face, and sent Liz out instead. read more

Brought two rings in to be sized. Upon arriving I was told it would take several days to resize them which was fine for me but unusual. Once I arrived home I received a phone call stating the resizing was going to be significantly more then I was excepting or had payed in the past at other jewelers. The reason I was given was "they needed to add more gold" to achieve the size I wanted. Once I arrived to pick up the rings I was given a different few even higher then the original. Come to find out they taxed me for labor which is illegal in Texas if I'm not mistaken. Once arrived home I weighed the rings to see if they had really added gold and guess what? They didn't add a drop of gold. So 200$ and a week later I have a pair of stretched out rings. I do not recommend these people at all. read more
