So great! The ladies if this crew were amazing! They knew the best places to go. We saw gray whales, sea otters, humpback whales and Stella seals. May have gotten the seal name wrong. Megan, Kate, Abigail and cannot recall the last lady's name, went above and beyond!!! Highly recommend.

We spent the afternoon on a tour called asea Otter and Wildlife Quest. It was absolutely spectacular! Captain Kelly was a skilled captain and delightful human! Tara was a wonderful narrator as we perused the wildlife from the boat. Not only were the people on board delightful, but we had an amazing experience as we got to see two different pods of transient orcas as well as sea otters and bald eagles. I would highly recommend Allen Marine and the sea otter and wildlife quest tour.

We booked the Coastal Expedition & Fin Island Lodge Feast through Virgin Cruise Line. This excursion was so great. Anya and Hannah were our guides and they were amazing. Very knowledgeable of the area and so very funny and personable. We had a lucky day seeing all sorts of wild life. We saw so many eagles, grey whales, otters and more. And to top it all off the feast at Fin Island was spectacular. We went in thinking it was just gonna be some smoked salmon and jerky and it was a full on home cooked buffet. Snow crab, prime rib, salmon, all the fixings and rhubarb pie. The staff was so kind and we literally ate until we were full. Everything was delicious and afterwards they offered smores until we headed back. I recommend this excursion if you're in Sitka.

Awesome tour with Captain Mo and her crew! Got to see a whale jumping out of the water on her birthday! Must be a good sign! We saw tons of whales, otters, seals, and eagles. It was a perfect day! The crew were very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Amazing tour for wildlife, we saw so many whales, otters, sea lions, and eagles. The staff was amazing and so friendly and shared such fun facts about the area and what we were seeing. The food onboard was delicious. The boat was perfect for site seeing and testing with an open upper deck and enclosed lower

Capt. Baily and her crew Karley, and Mike were great, led us to see some amazing wildlife. Karley was very knowledgeable. 100% recommend

Jordan and Saia (sorry for the spelling) where awesome! We say orcas ,grey whale, otters, eagles, sea lions! They gave us a beautiful tour of Sitka and Saia was so welcoming and informative ! Loved what I learned about eagles!! Also Jordan went out of his way to take me past the only part of "The Proposal" movie filled here in Sitka Highly recommend!!

    The map of our sightings!

Highly recommend! The crew and captain are friendly, knowledgeable and skilled sailors. The Raven was comfortable, the tour was well organized and the crew and captain were skilled and knowledgeable. As Carly, our naturalist, provided information about the whales and wildlife in Sitka Sound, our captain took us to prime areas where we saw whales, otters, sea lions and eagles. Our tour ended with a fabulous feast on Fin Island with crab, prime rib and salmon. It ended with s'mores by a campfire. This was a great way to spend our short time is Sitka. Thank you!!

We got a 30% discount from the $15,000 list price by booking last minute on June 18th. Only 120 square foot rooms available and were the second most expensive rooms on the top deck of a three deck boat. ADC had a shuttle to pick us up at the airport, even when we arranged to arrive a day early, and stay a day in Sitka. Boat left from an anchorage right next to the downtown area. Our boat had 41 passengers in 2 person cabins with most cabins 96 or 110 square feet. These were the smallest rooms I've seen on boat cruises. There were no balcony cabins, with outside corridors running on the outside of each room . ADC provided wading boots, waterproof pants, and waterproof jacket. You needed the wading boots to travel from the ship to shore by zodiac boat when there were no docking facilities. You were left off in ankle deep water. Zodiac boat also for touring the islands and forests where the water was too shallow for the Admiralty Dream. People walking by could look through the windows into your room. There were curtains, but they didn't wrap around, so the corridor night lights shone through the edges, right into the eyes of me lying on the bed next to the window. Units on the bottom deck were 96 square feet in size with portholes and interior corridors. Boat built in 1979 and of antiquated design, although the sink and track lighting were new. Rooms had no drawers and no dressers and no locks on the sliding doors from the outside. We kept our valuables in our lockable luggage stored under the bed. Phone booth size shower with curtain next to toilet. After each shower we had to wipe the floor next to the toilet of water so that the next user of the toilet would not get their pants wet from the wet floor. Water from the sink had a light brown tone, and tasted like it was full of iron. At least they gave us a large water bottle. Continuous background noise from the ventilation motor running behind our third deck cabin. Highlights of our tour of the Alaska inlet area include the following. Hike to lake Eva's hidden Fall hatchery along with kayaking. Red bluff Bay bears. Tracy arm fjord glacier point Hugh Whales, William Henry Bay orcas. Orca point Lodge Juneau. Hike to coastal artillery, and kayaking. Glacier Bay Bartlett cove near glacier Bay national Park visitor center. Meals were served in dining room including breakfast lunch and dinner with multiple choices of each. Quality of the meals was generally very good although no food was available outside of regular dining hours. Salmon was the most served dish, with no crab served until we reached Orca point lodge. No cell phone coverage and no Wi-Fi for eight days. Would go again except that Alaskan dream cruises did not sail in 2026.

Our captain Nate must be related to Aquaman - he has an uncanny ability to know how long to fish one spot before trying another. First mate Malachi kept all lines untangled, all hooks baited, and made sure our fish were cleaned/filleted beyond restaurant quality. Back ashore, Kristi and her staff kept our bellies full with just-right family comfort food, and clean, quiet 4-start equiv hotel level accommodations for rest. Would def go again! Pro tip: Bring a seasick patch (Scopolamine). I'm normally sea-sensitive, but between the patch and Nate's boatmanship, I had no problems whatsoever.

The staff at the inn was friendly and accommodating from the very start it seemed that there was nothing they wouldn't do to make our stay enjoyable. Our lodging was more than comfortable with the added bonus of a fantastic view that gets even better when the sun sets. Our hosts, Rich and Karen Kraft, are the nicest couple that take the time to get to know you and make sure there isn't more they can do for you. Courtney and Cameron assists you in the day to day things like shuttling you to the boat and the market if needed. Christie is the awesome chef that provides you with delicious breakfasts and gourmet dinners. Her desserts are to die for, the cheesecake with raspberry sauce being my favorite. She even bakes cookies and crumbles for you to eat on the boat. The fishing turned out to be catching on our trip. Captain Tyler, who is the Kraft's son, is second to none in Sitka. I truly believe we boated more fish in the four days of fishing than any other charter. He expertly put us on the fish every day even when the conditions were rough, and the conditions were pretty rough the last two days. We even limited out on silvers (36) and halibut (6) on the second day by 1:00. We all went home with 92 pounds of salmon and halibut filets. Then there is Caleb our deckhand. Caleb does everything from baiting lines to netting fish to cleaning the catch and making awesome sandwiches made to order. We are very grateful to meet such a fine hardworking young man. I highly recommend this family run Inn/charter to everyone. You absolutely cannot go wrong and you will have an enjoyable experience.

Ok, First time to…read moreAlaska and have been mind blown by scenery. The natural beauty of this state is almost overwhelming in its grandeur. What really made the trip special was getting out on the ocean with a local guide that not only knew the ins and outs of the waterways but was also truly dedicated to his craft as a guide. Captain Dave is passionate about his home town of Sitka and an absolute wealth of information. On the way out of the harbor he fired off a plethora of awesome facts that rivaled anything Wikipedia might have to say about this majestic seaside port. Safety was always on his mind and that played a huge roll in our comfort considering we had a 5 and 7 year-old with us. At all times, including when we disembarked on a remote island for a quick hike, he was sure to let us know he had our back (he had a bear deterrent on the form of a shotgun). Dave also provided us with a killer breakfast and lunch which were both accompanied by spectacular views at unique locations on the water that were second to none. Bottom line, if you want to see AND learn about Sitka and it's wonderful culture/history/ecology then Captain Dave and his vessel the Esther are the premiere choice for anyone who wants to see the real deal Alaska!

What an awesome experience! The grandeur of Sitka is breath taking…read more We booked a 3 fishing excursion trip, with an additional day for sight seeing. Kevin was an incredible concierge. He arranged everything and was super flexible- our party size kept changing as our kid's plans were changing. We were booked with Capt Steven, and were joined a couple days with the owner Herb. Steven heard the fishing was challenging, so he took the risk and headed south about 40 miles. Flat calm sea and limits of King Salmon, halibut and black rockfish! We fished the same location on day 2. We limited again on Kings and halibut and then hooked a SEAMONSTER. after a 30+ minute fight we boated a 250+ pound halibut. We only had the opportunity to boat this animal because Herb had harvest tags for halibut in the "slot" (40-80 inches). Normally it's only legal to harvest halibut less than 40 or greater than 80 inches. This fish looked close to 80+, so we bought a harvest tag. It was a centimeter short of 80"! We would have been in huge trouble if Herb didn't have harvest tags! Day 3 was a shorter cruise north through some amazing waters. We saw wild bears and cubs! Bald eagles diving for fish! and Deer galore. We had limits of Kings, halibut and Rockfish as well as releasing several decent lingcod. The extra day was well worth it. Fortress of the bear and the Totem trail are best experienced in person! YouTube doesn't do either justice! We're already negotiating with Kevin and Herb for next year!
