    Sun trying to get through

We booked them through our cruise line for a glacier excursion. We went on four excursions on this trip. We were so disappointed by our first three but was pleasantly relieved to finally have a great one. And this went far beyond and exceeded all the others by miles. Amazing female crew. The captain was a beast. She guided our boat like a canoe through the icebergs to the glacier. And kept us in the best position for pics. Great narration that was very informative. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.

We had a great boat tour and meal at the Fin Island Lodge! The staff, both boat and at the lodge, were very friendly and accommodating. We had our meal first and it was really good. The salmon chowder was the best I've ever had as was the roasted salmon. I had to ask for the recipe and left my email and hope they send it my way. The island was full of wildlife including bald eagles with fledglings in the nest. The boat tour was great and we saw whales, otters, and salmon. Water was a perfect and the weather couldn't have been better. Our naturalist guide was highly knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend this trip!

We had a blast on this boat ride! We did the raptors and Bears first as part of our cruise Excursion but honestly the highlight was the sea life boat ride ! We saw sea otters, seals and although not guaranteed gray whales which was the highlight of our cruise so far! Such a friendly and fun crew had a blast !

I had a great and pleasantly surprising marine tour here. We got extra lucky when we went and saw TONS of whales and jellyfish. Our host was knowledgeable and entertaining. Wanna make a special shout out to the guy in the back running the gift stand and his advertising pitches -- they were so funny!

On May 23, 2023, we took the Alaska Zodiac Adventure Tour and Fin Island Lodge. Absolutely fantastic, the zodiac accommodations were adventurous and we were prepped with appropriate safety equipment and precautions. Absolutely stunning. Our guide and captain were well versed, friendly and professional. We saw a lot of natural wonders and islands and many sea animals. We took in a lot when we toured the various islands. When we stopped for brunch at the fin Island Lodge, what a feast we had. I've never had such amazing snow, crab, fresh, salmon, and amazing chowder. The staff at the lodge were equally friendly, helpful and courteous. Again, what a wonderful and amazing time we had, we would recommend this to anybody coming to Fin Island.

My Wife and I recently did a tour with Allen Marine tours on July 2nd as an excursion from our Alaskan Cruise through Royal Caribbean. I normally don't follow up with reviews but my Wife and I had such a great time and it was all thanks to Captain Chad Shaw. The rest of the crew that day were also fantastic. We got to see a couple humpback whales and I got to see Sea Otters in the wild for the first time. We really appreciated the hospitality and will definitely book your tour again on our next trip to Sitka. Kudos to Captain Chad Shaw for making Sitka the best part of our Alaskan cruise!

Our captain Nate must be related to Aquaman - he has an uncanny ability to know how long to fish one spot before trying another. First mate Malachi kept all lines untangled, all hooks baited, and made sure our fish were cleaned/filleted beyond restaurant quality. Back ashore, Kristi and her staff kept our bellies full with just-right family comfort food, and clean, quiet 4-start equiv hotel level accommodations for rest. Would def go again! Pro tip: Bring a seasick patch (Scopolamine). I'm normally sea-sensitive, but between the patch and Nate's boatmanship, I had no problems whatsoever.

We…read morehad a group of six friends, four from Hawaii and two from Sacramento, and we met in Sitka for what turned out to be an epic fishing adventure. The staff at the inn was friendly and accommodating from the very start it seemed that there was nothing they wouldn't do to make our stay enjoyable. Our lodging was more than comfortable with the added bonus of a fantastic view that gets even better when the sun sets. Our hosts, Rich and Karen Kraft, are the nicest couple that take the time to get to know you and make sure there isn't more they can do for you. Courtney and Cameron assists you in the day to day things like shuttling you to the boat and the market if needed. Christie is the awesome chef that provides you with delicious breakfasts and gourmet dinners. Her desserts are to die for, the cheesecake with raspberry sauce being my favorite. She even bakes cookies and crumbles for you to eat on the boat. The fishing turned out to be catching on our trip. Captain Tyler, who is the Kraft's son, is second to none in Sitka. I truly believe we boated more fish in the four days of fishing than any other charter. He expertly put us on the fish every day even when the conditions were rough, and the conditions were pretty rough the last two days. We even limited out on silvers (36) and halibut (6) on the second day by 1:00. We all went home with 92 pounds of salmon and halibut filets. Then there is Caleb our deckhand. Caleb does everything from baiting lines to netting fish to cleaning the catch and making awesome sandwiches made to order. We are very grateful to meet such a fine hardworking young man. I highly recommend this family run Inn/charter to everyone. You absolutely cannot go wrong and you will have an enjoyable experience.

Ok, First time to…read moreAlaska and have been mind blown by scenery. The natural beauty of this state is almost overwhelming in its grandeur. What really made the trip special was getting out on the ocean with a local guide that not only knew the ins and outs of the waterways but was also truly dedicated to his craft as a guide. Captain Dave is passionate about his home town of Sitka and an absolute wealth of information. On the way out of the harbor he fired off a plethora of awesome facts that rivaled anything Wikipedia might have to say about this majestic seaside port. Safety was always on his mind and that played a huge roll in our comfort considering we had a 5 and 7 year-old with us. At all times, including when we disembarked on a remote island for a quick hike, he was sure to let us know he had our back (he had a bear deterrent on the form of a shotgun). Dave also provided us with a killer breakfast and lunch which were both accompanied by spectacular views at unique locations on the water that were second to none. Bottom line, if you want to see AND learn about Sitka and it's wonderful culture/history/ecology then Captain Dave and his vessel the Esther are the premiere choice for anyone who wants to see the real deal Alaska!

What an awesome experience! The grandeur of Sitka is breath taking…read more We booked a 3 fishing excursion trip, with an additional day for sight seeing. Kevin was an incredible concierge. He arranged everything and was super flexible- our party size kept changing as our kid's plans were changing. We were booked with Capt Steven, and were joined a couple days with the owner Herb. Steven heard the fishing was challenging, so he took the risk and headed south about 40 miles. Flat calm sea and limits of King Salmon, halibut and black rockfish! We fished the same location on day 2. We limited again on Kings and halibut and then hooked a SEAMONSTER. after a 30+ minute fight we boated a 250+ pound halibut. We only had the opportunity to boat this animal because Herb had harvest tags for halibut in the "slot" (40-80 inches). Normally it's only legal to harvest halibut less than 40 or greater than 80 inches. This fish looked close to 80+, so we bought a harvest tag. It was a centimeter short of 80"! We would have been in huge trouble if Herb didn't have harvest tags! Day 3 was a shorter cruise north through some amazing waters. We saw wild bears and cubs! Bald eagles diving for fish! and Deer galore. We had limits of Kings, halibut and Rockfish as well as releasing several decent lingcod. The extra day was well worth it. Fortress of the bear and the Totem trail are best experienced in person! YouTube doesn't do either justice! We're already negotiating with Kevin and Herb for next year!
