Our tour guide Brett took us to the Fortess of the Bear, the Raptor Center and the Park. Amazing centers that support the wildlife is such a great spot to visit. We had plenty of time to watch the bears communicate with one another and the staff at the centers. I also love that there are items in the gift shop that support the sanctuary so purchase those and know your purchase supports the wildlife. The Raptor center has amazing eagles, owls and other birds that are in need of medical help. Absolutely amazing to see them up close. The park has so much history on the natives, totem poles, and beautiful artifacts to see up close. If you're in Sitka I highly recommend you take this tour.

This was a small tour which we loved, only max 10 people; we had 8. Our tour guide, Bret, was very helpful, courteous and professional. He was also an excellent photo taker!! The raptor center and the Fortress of the Bear are both smaller venues so it doesn't take a long time to see everything. I think the tours allowed for 30 minutes at each place, but I think it would have been nice to have maybe another 20 minutes at the Fortress so we could have read some stuff and looked around more. There were so many bald eagles there too! The Sitka Nat'l Historic Park was beautiful as were all the totems, we walked a short loop around while our guide, Bret provided a lot of wonderful information. I would have loved to have gotten more time there to read a bit more in the museum and walk more of the the trails. If we get back to Sitka, we will absolutely come back and re-visit the park and trails. Bret shared information with us the whole time he was driving and we really learned a lot. Worth taking and less expensive than the cruise ship.

He did a great job telling us information as we traveled, pointing things out along the way, slowing down so we could get pictures of some things on our way to the Eagle place and then the bear place. He stopped at Silverlake where we were able to see a whale in the water and get some pictures. In addition, he just kept us entertained all the way throughout and really moved us through each of the activities quickly and in a way that we learned a lot and enjoyed ourselves the entire time. Along the way, our captain shared interesting facts about the area while we spotted bald eagles, sea otters, whales, and seals. Once we arrived, we enjoyed a fun and scenic ATV ride through the island's beautiful landscape. The entire experience was well organized, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. As an added bonus, the office is just a short walk from the cruise shuttle drop-off and conveniently located near the shops in downtown Sitka. We highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Sitka!

Van driver Vanessa The ride itself was great as was the boat ride to and from, Charlie the captain was great. We booked this excursion through Holland America. We got to the meeting point 20 mins early and we were told by HA, they couldn't find the tour hose, to come back at the time designated because we were early. We got there at the designated meeting time (the excursions was supposed to leave 15 mins later), only to find out Vanessa, the driver had left with a group of 6! She left with a couple that was supposed to be on the next group. So we had to wait an hour for the driver to come back. She never verified if she had the correct people on her tour! HA tried calling the owner 3 or 4 times, she never would call him back. The worse thing Vanessa never apologized, and had the nerve to tell me we needed to be punctual!! She placed all the blame on us! She continued to lie, right in front of everyone! Very overpriced ($600 for the two of us) for the rotten treatment we got. They need to train their help better for sure

You start your journey with a boat ride out to Kruzof island. The boat ride takes you through some beautiful scenery, consisting of a few small islands, and rocky seashores surrounded by forest. We did see some otters on the way out. Arriving at Kruzof island, you are given a quick safety talk and instructions and are on your way. The 4x4 Mules are definitely well used, and you are riding old logging roads, so it is not at all extreme or rugged terrain, but it is a beautiful ride. We were lucky enough to see 3 adolescent bears on our trip. Two came up on the trail, close enough that the guides started getting out the air horns and bear spray:). Overall it was an enjoyable excursion, the guides were friendly and knowledgable, and the scenery fantastic.

He was prepared to make anything from raw, palio, vegan, vegeterian, etc. The dinner was delicious! The whole experience was very personalized and relaxing.
