Excursion was excellent - Vanessa, the pick up person, not so much! BEWARE Their company name is Greenling Enterprises, LLC dba Alaska ATV Tours. Owner is Debbie. Van driver Vanessa The ride itself was great as was the boat ride to and from, Charlie the captain was great. We booked this excursion through Holland America. We got to the meeting point 20 mins early and we were told by HA, they couldn't find the tour hose, to come back at the time designated because we were early. We got there at the designated meeting time (the excursions was supposed to leave 15 mins later), only to find out Vanessa, the driver had left with a group of 6! She left with a couple that was supposed to be on the next group. So we had to wait an hour for the driver to come back. She never verified if she had the correct people on her tour! HA tried calling the owner 3 or 4 times, she never would call him back. The worse thing Vanessa never apologized, and had the nerve to tell me we needed to be punctual!! She placed all the blame on us! She continued to lie, right in front of everyone! Very overpriced ($600 for the two of us) for the rotten treatment we got. They need to train their help better for sure read more

Signed up for this as an excursion on an Alaskan Cruise through Holland America. This a runway to experience nature and the outdoors. You start your journey with a boat ride out to Kruzof island. The boat ride takes you through some beautiful scenery, consisting of a few small islands, and rocky seashores surrounded by forest. We did see some otters on the way out. Arriving at Kruzof island, you are given a quick safety talk and instructions and are on your way. The 4x4 Mules are definitely well used, and you are riding old logging roads, so it is not at all extreme or rugged terrain, but it is a beautiful ride. We were lucky enough to see 3 adolescent bears on our trip. Two came up on the trail, close enough that the guides started getting out the air horns and bear spray:). Overall it was an enjoyable excursion, the guides were friendly and knowledgable, and the scenery fantastic. read more

Like others, booked this tour through the cruise line. It was extremely well run and organized. The van driver was wating for us at the tender dock for the short ride to the boat dock. The boat was also waiting for us at the dock for the ride to Kruzoff Island. Nice scenery and information on the way to the island. Once we arrived OHVs were waiting for us along with our guide. The OHVs are easy to drive. A quick safety demo and we were on our way. We were lucky enough to see a brown bear in the estuary, but no other wildlife was seen. The dirt roads were pretty well groomed with a few hills and bumps along the way. It was a little pricey, but worth the money. Just go not expecting to see any wildlife, and if you do consider it a bonus. Boat was waiting for us when we got back and the van was at the dock for our transfer back to the ship. Not sure if this is the right company or not. None the less. We booked the tour with our cruise. Grizzly Meadows 4X4 Adventure. We were picked up in Sitka and taken to the dock. We boarded a boat with another couple and headed to Kruzof Island. On the way we saw sea otters and a couple of bald eagles. Once to the island we got our safety instructions and gear. We had a nice drive thru the woods on old logging roads. We saw deer and more bald eagles. We did not get to see any bears but we saw bear poop. It was nice being only a group of 5 including the guide. It was pricy as far a tours go, but it was still fun. We had a nice cruise back to the dock and saw other wild life and learned about the area. We had plenty of time to shop once back in Sitka. Would recommend this later in the year when salmon are running, but we booked early in the year to avoid larger crowds and children on the cruise ship. So worth it. read more
