One of my favourite places in Rome! Located on a quiet street, in a quiet neighbourhood, a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, it caters very much to locals (good luck getting a table there for Sunday lunch!).
The chef takes great pride in their menu, and in the food products they make their stuff from. Once, when I ordered a Spaghetti con Astiche, spaghetti with lobster, for lunch, the server came to my table with the entire lobster before they parted it and cooked it, just because they were so proud of how magnificent a specimen it was!
Service is great, they even have a few waiters who speak English, so getting additional information to what is on the menu is no problem, even if your Italian isn't too strong.
Do note that they don't serve their pizza selection for lunch, so make sure you come by for dinner at some point, too, because they make excellent pizzas. My recommendation is the one with parma ham and buffalo mozzarella. And you can get the pizzas to go, if you want. read more
