I booked my appointment vía Yelp and received a confirmation within 24 hours. About 10 days later, when it became apparent that we weren't going to be ready on our original moving day, I called and asked to reschedule. Ethan accommodated me immediately and sent me a second confirmation without any hesitation. On the day of our move the gigantic truck rolled up 15 minutes ahead of schedule and the guys got to work! And damn, did they work HARD! I was only 95% ready for them so I kept packing up the last minute things while they hauled ass up and down the flight of stairs to our second floor apartment. They took one 15 minute break (No complaints from me! They deserved that, and more!) and then went back to work. At the end of FOUR HOURS the truck was packed and we were off to the new location. The guys grabbed an incredibly fast lunch in between places and were back on the job in less time than it took for Ethan to park the truck where he wanted it and have a look around. They worked for THREE MORE HOURS - again, up and down the stairs - and even took the time to make sure our boxes got to the right rooms. The whole time they worked I didn't hear a single complaint; not even an annoyed look or tone of voice. If they complained behind our backs...WHO CARES?! They kept every interaction professional and pleasant. (If our positions had been reversed I'd have been crying the whole day because I'm weak and old! ) The whole experience was great, from beginning to end. Also, our household goods arrived in excellent condition without evidence of shifting, which to me indicates that the driver took great care in hauling the load. On both ends, the drivers also worked to position the trailer in the most advantageous spot for loading and unloading. The three days to load and unload are more than ample if you are organized ahead of time in your planned packing and unpacking. As a final note, everyone I spoke with in making the reservation and throughout the move was professional, personable, and helpful. On my second trip, I was told to come back because the manager was not on the premises. (Why they were unable to use the phone and call for assistance is still a mystery.) On my final trip, the saleswoman once again informed me that the manager was not on the premises also letting me know she did not know how to do the transaction required, and became defensive and belligerent... It was a simple return. Why would a manager leave someone in charge who was so obviously unqualified to do the job? In the conference, by both of them, I was told "Unless there is a golden calf in the living room your invoice will not increase." on several occasions I asked the broker to speak with the movers and I got the runaround and basically got one phone call an hour before they were supposed to be there from Ideal Movers. in this phone call before the movers even got to my mother's condo they were trying to hustle me for more money, talk over me, steamroll me and intimidate me. Once they were all there they stayed for three hours in their truck arguing with me and it went from bad to worse. They tried to con my uncle into signing an acceptance invoice that they would do the job for $6000 after I refused to pay $8000, and then tried to con me and into sending a text message that I canceled. They told me I would never see my deposit back from the broker and that they had other jobs the next day when they were supposed to be working in my mother's condo that weekend packing and loading their truck. At one point they attempted a $5542 proposal to take only one bedroom of furniture, a few Pyrex bowls and a coffee table. This moving company is a complete scam, the owner is in Israel and good luck reaching him. It is a felony to attempt to coerce and threaten a federal employee. They have been reported to the Better Business Bureau as it was such a traumatic and unprofessional experience rife with racketeering schemes to intimidate and extort money-- particularly out of women.
