I tried All The Way Live Cafe situated in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. This is a vegan spot that puts a creative twist on plant-based food, with both raw and cooked dishes. It's quaint, a tad dated but gives this ultra natural vibe if dining in. I opted for the tasting tour. Everything was delicious but I especially loved the caramelized squash -- the flavors were so fresh, flavorful, and unique. You can really taste the care that goes into the food. I loved being able to sample different dishes instead of having to commit to just one. If you're looking for something fresh, plant-based, and completely different from the usual Philly food scene, definitely give All The Way Live a try. read more

Nestled in a so-so neighborhood is a nice, inviting place called All the Way Live. Apparently, there is/was more than one of these locations, but when I look on their website, there is only this location currently. I was eating with mostly a vegan group of people and learned about how my interests differed greatly from theirs and learned to appreciate the different vegan spectrum levels more and to realize that there is more of a spectrum. Being a raw vegan is a whole nother level and while I am open to this kind of food, I wouldn't want to restrict myself to this lifestyle as it would be too stressful and unenjoyable for me. The group seemed to be a fan of this place, and I am no exception to that. Many didn't like Vedge at all whereas I did, one or two said Monster Vegan could consider charging more which i disagree with even though I haven't made it there yet, Su Xing seems to get respectable ratings by all, Charlie's is mixed but I am a fan personally. If vegan meat tastes too much like the real thing, this turns off a significant number of vegans. For a non-vegan foodie like myself, or possibly vegans strict to their diets that miss meat might appreciate this type of food accessibility. Even though the ingredients here are all raw vegan (to start), they are made flavorful for a more healthy experience. The apple cake I had here had a different texture than your typical American cake. I believe it was layers of fuji apple itself and it was made moderately sweet- not overly sweet like a typical American pastry. The candied squash I had here was fine with the unexpected salad to accompany it, but i didn't feel the candied part of it per se. The mushroom "cheesesteak" I didn't feel was really much of a vegan cheesesteak, but it was still flavorful enough with actual mushrooms and veggies within a roll. The prices are on the higher side but seemed appropriately priced too. The ginger lime drink I had tasted natural but flavorful. Pricy, but flavorful and refreshing. As to the reviewers who were frustrated by the place closing with no proper notification, that is very frustrating. I get it's a local place, but those kind of details are important to at least have on your website- something within the store's control. Somewhat ironically, my group was here because the Nile nearby was closed on this particular day only. This was on their Instagram. During my time here, my group asked me out of 10, how would I rate the cake. I said 9 or 10 at the time and don't regret that. They were surprised by such a high rating. I haven't had too many specific vegan cakes myself nor do I need to specifically try to overindulge myself in cakes. I was a bit overwhelmed to try to review on the spot but felt it was my duty to try to because I have been writing many reviews currently. Also, I see that it takes me time to think about all these things in my reviews like this one here. This review would have been too much to tell a person in-person. After further prior review investigation and more thought, 10% is high for credit card surcharge and there should be more transparency on that beforehand if not displayed well. 5% would probably still allow a slight profit but also be more appropriate and reasonably easy to calculate I think. Also, because of the area this is in, one could argue maybe the prices need to be tempered down. This is specialty too and it is all quite debatable. read more

This restaurant is really nice and inviting. I wouldve gave them 5stars because the food took a long time, but it was really good. This is a small, intimate restaurant that serves raw/vegan food. I definitely recommend. read more

Absolutely loved everything about this place. In every area of restaurant experiences, this establishment exceeded expectations. The customer services, to the vibe and of course the food created an experience that was healthy for my entire being - spirit, soul and body. It's a must stop if ever in Philly. read more

The restaurant is nice and clean inside. The food is healthy! Don't go here wanting soul food in the traditional sense. I love the spaghetti, chickpea chili, squash soup and the Belizean potato salad. I usually order on Uber eats but my family tells me you have to order ahead (40-60 minutes) so your order can be ready for pick-up.. read more

This is the best raw food restaurants that I've tried so far. Food is delicious. The team of folks that work here is really nice. I do however, understand the difference between fast food and the raw food process, which is going to effectively increase the wait time. Which is well worth the wait. Call before you go! read more

Spent 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon driving to this place in a sketchy neighborhood. Obviously the proprietor does not value her customers enough to let us know that she's CLOSED FOR THREE WEEKS!!! I checked the website before going, and again after being disappointed. It would have been so easy to put a notice on the website and show a bit of respect. I wonder how many others wasted time because this place does not care about customers. read more

First time at the restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised by how big the restaurant is. Lovely and clean too. The owner was lovely and told me a bit about her journey to eating healthy. The food was delicious and healthy. I should've taken pictures of it- next time :) I hope you give it a try and notice that healthy food is so important. Enjoy!! read more

This was my first time at All The Way Live and it was an amazing experience. The service was fast, friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing as you could taste the love used to prepare it. It's a warm peaceful environment that makes you feel at home immediately. I had the pleasure of talking to the owner Ms. Bev who gracefully described her mission and beliefs regarding using raw and vegan ingredients. I will definitely return and share my experience with others as this restaurant deserves more exposure even though I love the intimacy it currently provides. read more

I had a sweet tooth. let me tell you. this apple cake & vanilla ice cream DID IT. it was so good! i wasn't expecting the cake to be raw cake, it blew my mind lmao. the ice cream was perfectly sweetened. great balance! nothing was too sweet. Mann that combo was so good, i started feeling bad for those who just ride past All The Way Live Cafe & have never tried their food. Though, I must say.. the prices are painfully high for the amount of food that you receive. read more

Where to begin, ordered the nut burger, sabgi and two avocado salads for pick up. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes for the order to be ready. My suspicion is they started making the order when I walked into the restaurant. They gave me the house salad with no dressing with half of an old and brown avocado. $13 for that salad, see the picture attached. Very disappointing. While I was standing in the place there were 4-5 people waiting for their orders and a few people at tables also waiting. I hope they can get their act together. Germantown needs some good restaurants and the quality and the service was not something people will be looking to come back to. And there is a 10% credit card fee. So bring a lot of cash with you read more

The food is really good here I have been to the restaurant about 4 times. It's a nice chill spot. The owner is the loveliest person, she came out and explained to us what live food is and she even gave us advice. We get the lasagne "amazing", the squash soup "the best I ever had" the spaghetti " I can totally replace my spaghetti with hers" . I have eaten at other vegan spots but this one tastes soulful if that make sense. The food does take a little while but the service is awesome as is the food. read more

A staple in the Germantown community. Good raw vegan eats. Can be slow with your order so plan ahead and schedule time. Nice staff. Eating healthy is always more expensive so don't be shocked by the prices. Good flavored dishes. Always a nice and relaxing atmosphere to catch up with friends or read a book. read more

I had been dying to try this place for such a long time! I always found myself in the area on either Monday's or Tuesday's when they're closed so it took me a lot longer than I would've liked. Finally made it to this 100% plant-based, super chill, kinda earthy, mother/daughter owned space in Germantown. I chose the 'pick a few' option so I could taste multiple dishes on my initial visit. Here are the prices: Small (choice of 3) $12 Medium (choice of 4) $16 Large (choice of 5) $20 I went a small which was piled high with BBQ mushrooms, the "tuna" made from butternut squash and seas greens and the chickpea chili. Completely shocked by how much I enjoyed the "tuna". That was definitely my wild card pick and I'm glad I decided to go for it! The consistency was great and didn't freak me out at all. A slightly "fishy" flavor, but not too overpowering. Easily eaten with just a fork! I loved the chickpea chili and could easily eat an entire bowl of it! Warm spices, hearty bites...perfect for a cold day The mushrooms were my least favorite of the bunch. Good. Just not "wow" like I had wanted. I saved leftovers for hubs and he agreed. Just a tad off from a BBQ flavor. I couldn't leave without a dessert to bring home to the kiddos (ok, I may or may not have had a taste). I went with a slice of raw vegan cheesecake served with thick gooey, sweet strawberry sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The creamiest vegan cheesecake I've ever tasted with a date and nut crumbly crust. It was coconut based and did taste like it. Non coconut fans will want to skip this one and try another one of their tempting treats. Space was large and filled with greenery. Calming. I really enjoyed speaking with the owner, the mother, about her business and veganism in general. We're all soul-sisters in a sense. Can't wait to return when I'm in the neighborhood again on the correct day :) Bring those quarters. Old school meters on Germantown Ave. Check out the bulletin board for local happenings and workshops. read more

$Too, $too, $too, expensive!!! The menu is not customer friendly. The food was not all that good for the price. Also, not that much on the menu to choose from. I can make the same food, way much $cheaper. I will not be eating there anymore. Customers beware, they charge a fee for using your credit or debit card. read more

The service can be slow, but the food is absolutely delicious. Every dish is worth trying, but the Spaghetti and the Chickpea Chilli are a must. The desserts are divine. My, my, my... some the best places are found randomly. I was trying to cater to the vegan needs of my son and his mom so we gave this place a shot. CHICKPEA CHILI... MMM.. MMMM... DELICIOUS!!!! The cabbage type salad with side pitas was pleasing to the palate as well. Everything tasted amazingly flavorful. You can tell they put their heart into their cooking. The decor and aura inside the joint is very comforting, if you would like to dine in. Please just go to this place because you will not be disappointed! Especially, if you are a vegan. read more

Wonderful reception & dining area. Very personal reception from the owner. The food dishes are wonderful & filling. Don't let the size of the dishes fool you. The food was good. Yes. But customer service was not there. Went inside for a pick up order and the communication was just not there. The cashier not only handed us a book as if we dined in , instead of just telling us our total, taking the money and giving change. But consistently kept walking away without telling us anything. Such as I'll be right back with you your change, or I have to get your apple pie from the back, I'll be right back. SOMETHING!!! I don't mind being patient but this took the cake, and we were ready to run outta there , leaving change and all. Maybe better to dine in, but I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I was really wowed by this place. I did Uber eats for delivery. I didn't realize this was a raw food establishment but as a vegan I'm open. I just like to know somewhere in the description what they were. Expectations are important. All that being said, the lasagna was delish! Again I wasn't expecting a cold dish and that the zucchini pasta was actually just raw zucchini slices. I took a small bite of the apple cake. It's raw. Almost like a gigantic luna bar. I get it but it's not satisfying the baked goods desire I had. Advertising is super important folks. read more

Everything I had out of this place was amazing... versatile, with raw and cooked meals

Ordered chickpea burger . Burger was dry and very salty . Paid $20 including delivery . Not worth it . 2 stars because order was delivered within 30 minutes. I will not order again read more

I ordered a chickpea burger, which was as dry and flavorless as cardboard. Actually, the only flavor I could detect was table salt, and it was waaaaaay too salty. I even ordered two desserts, which were also inedible. This place is trolling the public. it's insulting that they don't bother hiring people who know how to prepare foods and on top of that, they have the audacity to charge so much money for their garbage "food". read more

You can feel the good energy in the food through your body. The restaurant is beautiful and black owned. I'm on a raw diet and eating this amazing food feels somewhat like a cheat. At least a hack lol. I recommend the chickpea burger on Nori and lasagna. It's so good my mom who's not in any cleanse and rarely eats raw asked me to buy her another one. read more

My partner and I are very strict in what we eat. This place was able to provide great healthy clean food that we didn't have to worry about eating. This is me and my hubby's favorite restaurant! We are vegan, but we don't always eat raw. This place definitely makes raw vegan absolutely delicious! Everyone that we have brought to this restaurant has LOVED the food here! My mother, who is not vegan, got the chickpea burger and loved it so much that she took half home and ate it for breakfast the next day! I HIGHLY recommend this place! You'll be pleasantly surprised! read more

Ordered our meal via Grub Hub while staying in an apartment also located on Germantown Ave. Order took around an hour to deliver despite the initial delivery time of about 25-30 minutes. My friend and I both ordered burgers which were cold. The chickpea "patty" was extremely salty... we threw it out after barely finishing the first half of the sandwich. We also ordered a side of kale and barbecue mushrooms. The kale was blended into a mush and bitter... also inedible. The mushrooms were overpowered by the barbecue sauce. They were probably the best part of the meal, but that isn't saying much. Did I mention that the bill was over $50? I don't mind splurging on good food on vacation, but this was a major disappointment. read more

I was introduced to All The Way Live and Sister Beverly in January of this year. Since then, I have not had one iota of a desire to dine anyplace else. It is a spiritual hangout that happens to also be a restaurant. The menu is vegan - half of the items completely uncooked, raw, and alive. The vibe is among the most chillest that I have found in my travels. My last visit, Sis Bev made a special dish for me: Wakame salad, Nori sheets, Barbecue Portabellos, and Avocado. All the way live. One word: SUPERB, perfect, and just right. I love the fact that right now it is a select few beautiful souls who frequent the place. But, hey, I can't hide a gorgeous treasure such as this. So if it feels right for you, definitely stop by and pay a visit to the only restaurant in Philadelphia. read more

Dining here will take up your entire evening, so bring lots of patience!! When I ate here, we were only one of 2 tables in the whole place yet it took almost 2 hrs from start to finish. The food is GROSSLY overpriced and you get charged for using your debit/credit card! I could maybe justify the price if it was some incredible vegan food, but it's not!! My sandwhich was half onions when i asked for no onions at all. Don't order the cheesecake, its inedible!! And all you'll get is 1 glass of tap water with your meal so sip slowly!! Save your money, time and tastebuds and go somewhere else. read more

The other reviewers hit some great points The food is that good and I doubt I will go anywhere else for my "new" raw lifestyle. Today I had the pleasure of finding this place after a 45 minute drive and having a nice chat with Bev and she assured me that raw food can be that good. Raw goes beyond the Vegan and Vegetarian Lifestyle and requires a true belief of the benefits - physically and mentally. Mentally I was starting to wonder if I could give up good addicting food. Physically I have never felt better and it's only been a short time since I started - relatively speaking and thank Goodness All The Way Live Cafe put me back on track! I ordered the Chickpea Burger and Apple Cake, and as a previous review mentioned, I too wonder if this is Raw. IT"S THAT GOOD!!!!! Better than GOOD! I'll be back. Probably several times a week. My new lifestyle requires a 45 minute drive but that's the easy part knowing what is waiting for me! read more

Not sure where everyone is complaining about being over priced. I've eaten at some raw places that were more expensive with much smaller portions. That's the important thing here, I got the small platter (choice of 3 sides for $12) and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of food i received. Wasn't too thrilled with their beverage program. I was expecting more fresh juices. Don't let the exterior of the building dismay you, it's quite beautiful inside. They should really liven up the outside of the building tho. Customer service is a bit strange as well. So if you're expecting formal dining service you might wanna go elsewhere. read more

If you actually eat good/legit vegan food, avoid this place. First, waitress didn't know anything about the food my friend and I asked to order. I asked what an ingredient was and she said she didn't know. There were maybe 4 tables with people and we waited a good ten minutes for glasses of water which she spilled. Then our food came out and it was soooo boring. Nothing had flavor, nothing seemed particularly fresh or raw. My friends food was wrapped in plastic wrap. I can't believe they charge $12 for a meal. It also smelled like musty mold and the bathrooms were falling apart. Do yourself a favor, spend the time to go into Philly to a legit vegan restaurant. read more
