I found the lean brisket and jalapeño-cheese sausage to both be just about textbook perfect. My compliments to the pit master. I can not offer a single suggestion for improvement for either. Best I have had in recent memory. The presentation on butcher paper over a stainless tray was spot-on perfect, as well. I would give 7 points for the meats, if I could. Both are well worth their price. The 3-bean-whatever side item is a swing-and-a-miss. As a BBQ purist, I felt like somebody was going to offer me quinoa or cauliflower rice next. $5 for the rather dainty serving was somewhat off-putting as well. Stick with pintos or charros, the way God intended. Charging an additional fee for staple side items like jalapeños and extra slices of bread comes across as downright chintzy. There is just no other way to put it. Shaving the onion down to paper thin slivers clearly increases your yield, but it simply ruins it alongside barbecue. The resulting intensity of flavor and smell; the texture, the wateriness--it was just all off as a result. Another thing, either serve cheese--or just don't. Any BBQ traditionalist will agree that a chunk of cheddar complements good BBQ. The waitress brought me a one-ounce cup of shredded cheese, albeit somewhat smashed into chunks. Full disclosure: she did warn me in advance that the cheese would be shredded. I'm guessing this was pulled from the prep table for stuffed baked potatoes or something. It makes your restaurant seem ill-prepared, as if the kitchen was caught off guard and is improvising. Last word on the side items: those sliced dill pickles are awesome. Definitely better than what one usually encounters. Okay, another last word on condiments. That bbq sauce was excellent. Maybe some of the best I have ever had. Perfect mix of sweet and heat. The quality of service was about what I would expect from disinterested college kids on a Sunday afternoon. Not awesome, but not horrible. I would return for the brisket and sausage. In spite of that awesomeness, I can't give five stars with the multiple peripheral detractors, though.

Just finished eating our to go order, food was amazing. The place is actually really cool, I wished we ate there. Staff really friendly too. Definitely recommend this place.

It's been a few years since I've been to this spot. The last time I was here it was amazing. I'm not sure WTF happened but it has fallen way off. The pork belly burnt ends used to be melt in your mouth and tonight were more like BBQ rubber. The brisket slices I received were dry and tired. The sausage was dried out and shriveled. I'm sure these had been sitting all day long and I got the end of night pickings. But worst of all my son ordered the wings and a couple were raw on the inside. I had 90% of my food left (we ate the fries) and the waitress didn't say a word. I was excited to bring the kiddo I. Here after his wrestling tournament because it used to be amazing but what disappointment. Is it under new ownership or management? Or did I show up on an off night??

I'm for a late lunch at 1:40. Was hard to find parking even at this time so be forewarned. Ordered a half pound of brisket and a half pound of sausage, and potato salad. Total with drink and a 10% tip was $30.43. One thing I do not like is when you have to select a tip when you pay before you have even tasted the food and you are standing in front of people about to handle your food. I know this is pretty common now days but I still would rather leave a tip at the end. I did have one piece of brisket that was part of my half pound that was 100% fat (see photo). Not to happy about that. The meats were good but the brisket was very salty. The potato salad was very good as well. would probably eat here again.

Food was decent. The potato salad was not made in-house. Tasted more like a Walmart version. I would have given a 4 star. However the Bloody Mary's came in a cute boot. I'm an adult and would have loved a larger drink than the 7 oz boot. The waitress was very sweet.

Another day another BBQ review! When I was back in Texas this past week I was trying to get my fix before coming back to Orlando. I stopped by All The Kings Men in downtown Bryan with a couple of my friends for dinner. The restaurant had a really cool atmosphere and some great menu options. I had the Pulled Pork, which came with two sides. I chose the Gouda Mac n Cheese as well as the Jicama Apple Slaw. The portion sizes were really good, and everything was pretty tasty! It wasn't the most extraordinary BBQ I've ever tasted, but it's definitely a big step up from say Rudy's. The staff were extremely friendly, and the restaurant wasn't too crowded or loud. If you're in downtown Bryan and are crazing some BBQ, would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

We weren't planning to stop here but the bbq came highly recommended so made a quick pit stop and happy we did! They were out of Mac and cheese so I went with an all meat meal of brisket, pork belly burnt ends, and jalapeño cheese sausage. The meats were great though I didn't detect any jalapeño or cheese in the sausage so not sure if I got the wrong thing or not. Either way it was a great meal.

Restaurant was clean and had a lively atmosphere, our waitress was friendly and attentive. Brisket was decent, turkey was heavily seasoned, a bit dry but overall decent, the brisket sandwich was fairly good, crinkle fries were good.

I was craving for barbecue but I was not willing to stand in line for barbecue. We found this place and decided to check it out. I definitely recommend this place. We ordered the candied pork belly bacon, half pound of brisket, an order of pork ribs which came with two pieces, apple slaw, and mac and cheese. The barbecue came with the fixins including a slice of bread, pickles, onions, and jalapeños. The brisket was moist and I was also surprised that the ribs were moist because sometimes they tend to be dry. The apple slaw was my favorite side dish because it was flavorful. All of the items we ordered were delicious. This place is located in downtown Bryan and I am not sure whether it gets packed in downtown Bryan but we were able to get a curb parking easily on a Sunday. Service was great. Overall, I think you should check this place out.

Ohhhh man!!! I love barbecue and get it pretty often, and I have to say this is the best barbecue I've ever had. I ordered the candied pork tips and barbecue sandwich. Although it wasn't a ton of food , it was cooked so damn perfectly!! I HIGHLY recommend the candies pork tips because they were just the perfect amount of sweet and savory! The bill is pretty steep, for my 2 things with no drink it was 19.50$. ( plus tip you'll be about 25 dollars poorer) However , service was great , atmosphere was awesome , and the food was phenomenal !!! A gem in downtown Bryan!

Pecan porter as it arrived at table & before its head settled down.

Bottom Line: Winner of my "Best Venue For A Blues Gathering In Bryan TX" award. ATKM is a popular hangout offering well executed BBQ, diverse brews, and the best Blues I've heard in the area, covering especially acoustic Delta Blues and vintage Chicago numbers. But all this ambience comes at a premium price. Top Line: For a light hit-&-run dinner I dropped into All The King's Men in downtown Bryan. My choices du jour were their smoked pork rib tips $7.25, a glass of pecan porter $6, and a piece of their pecan pie $8.50 for the slice. Total ringout was $23.55 after tax for a not terribly large meal. So the price was significant. However, the food quality rose to the level of the cost, so I felt the price of the meal was justified. The four pieces of rib tips were quite sweet, as well as rather richly smoked, so I suspect there was a fair amount of brown sugar in the rub. The charred bits on the tips tasted very close to slices of sweet bacon. The thicker portions carried their sweetness as a flavor of sweet juicy ham (if you've ever made Coca Cola ham y'all know what I'm talkin' about). The dipping sauce was quite sweet with a distinct pepper note that reminded me of A-1 or Worcestershire sauce. Being only four about golf ball size pieces, the portion size wasn't very big. But what meat was there was mighty tasty. The pecan porter was a bit of a miss. While its flavor was the typical dark roasted grain taste of a good porter, its pecan notes were distinctly missing. Any nuttiness in the flavor did not register as a particularly pecan (or other distinct nut) taste. It did have the typical porter "slightly-lighter-than-stout" body. So let's say it was a good porter, but not as nutty as my taste buds anticipated given its name & branding in an area where pecans are native & abundant. The pecan pie, which my waitress graciously warmed before bringing it to table, arrived in a somewhat quixotic presentation. The pie slice was accompanied by a dollop of whipped cream topped with a pecan half in each corner of a small sheet pan that had been zig-zagged with caramel sauce. All the elements said elegant, except that bare metal sheet pan that said "This is a barbecue *joint*!!!" A little bi-polar indecision goin' on there methinks. The pie flavor was good, though not as roasty on the nut flavor as some I've tasted lately. The overall flavor was more about the sweetness. The texture of the gelatin filling under the nut layer was super smooth, approaching pudding creaminess. It seemed to lack rather completely the graininess often found in pecan pie fillings. The smoothness was sustained as the pie cooled, so it wasn't just an artifact of the heating it got. So while the overall experience at ATKM was good & their music selection was exceptional (they even piped it into the restrooms!), the price would restrict it to a "special occasion" venue if I lived in the area.

Clean place, decent beer. BBQ is equivalent to what you'd find on a cruise ship. Tender sure, but flavorless, nor bark, no seasoning.

Would it be okay to bring our 16 year old son here for a late dinner on a Saturday night? Also is this a good place to catch a football game on TV?

My wife ordered a burger and devoured it without a single word. This is how I know she truly enjoyed it.
