There were a lot of issues that needed addressing, predominantly the floor was laid incorrectly and within months, tiles were popping up. The owner Andy was great, with us every step of the way. His team was able to identify what was done wrong and correct it in a timely manner so as not to inconvenience us longer than we had to be (2 adults, 3 girls with one bathroom!). Owner Andy was in contact with us virtually every day, asking us about the progress, addressing any questions and concerns, and even called us a week after the job was done to make sure that we felt everything was to your satisfaction. Really appreciate Andy's hands on approach and taking the time to make sure that the customer is satisfied and that the job is done right. With all the sketchiness in the contracting world, it was refreshing to see someone care about their business. The management wasn't easy approving Gotham, and I am putting it lightly. They found an obstacle over an obstacle. But Jasmin and Luis would not give up on me. Finally, we got the approval, and work started. Luis and his team not only demonstrated their exceptional professionalism, but they also earned my trust in a remarkably short time. I felt so secure in their hands that I was comfortable leaving them to work alone. Even when the cabinet company (KraftMaid, via HomeDepot) sent a few damaged cabinet doors and a cabinet base, Luis and his team were there, accommodating every time another door arrived damaged. Aside from that, this is an old building. It is amazing that it is standing because not one wall is straight, nor the floor or the ceiling. You will not see any of that when you look at my kitchen. Luis and his team managed to "camouflage" it. My budget and the final approval would not allow for any major wall changes besides plastering. They also replaced my floor from tile to parquet-looking. There was an issue with leveling with the saddle of the living room floor, but they worked it out amazingly, too. So thank you, Gotham Builders of NY. I enjoy looking and cooking in my new kitchen.

I now have a doorless shower that allows my husband to roll into the shower on his chair without a problem. The shower floor was pitched perfectly so that all the shower water was contained within the shower area. Not only is my bathroom safe now - it is also gorgeous! I was so impressed with all the workers' attention to detail and how the 2 week renovation went so smoothly. Marc and his crew knew what needed to be done and they did it to perfection. We needed roof rafters repaired, part new roof and part reshingled, sky light replaced and gutters…read morereplaced in July 2023. Brian provided printed contract, naming foreman on site at all times, but Brian was also present several times during the job. Work crew was professional and completed a through clean-up. We have had no problems with the roof/skylights anywhere to date (Jan 2024). The only disappointment was the company used for gutters. They did not clean-up adequately. Pieces of metal were found in the yd for several weeks after they left. They used young workers and their work should be supervised closely before you pay them. We have NO reservations recommending Safe Choice as long as Brian is the owner.
