I got the sliced beef sandwich combo with slaw, okra, and sweet tea. My mom just wanted peach cobbler and okra, and we added potato salad and banana pudding for ourselves. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The pulled pork was tender and not dry. My sliced beef was juicy and seasoned well. The hushpuppies were good, crispy outside, soft inside. The fried okra was cooked right and not greasy. The potato salad surprised me in a good way, it had slices of bacon in it, which was different but actually really good. The banana pudding was good and creamy, and the peach cobbler was good too. Portions are generous. It's a lot of food for the price and definitely worth it. Service was good,we were in and out. No long wait. The ambience was good too. Nice spot, plenty of parking, easy to pull in and grab the food. No complaints at all when it comes to the service or the atmosphere. Overall, solid food, good service, good atmosphere. We'd definitely go back.

I remember trying - and liking - BBQ Joe's not long after moving to High Point, which makes it…read morepuzzling that I haven't been a more frequent visitor. Like most self-respecting barbecue joints, BBQ Joe's lets the food do the talking: the dining area is strictly utilitarian. They keep busy here, but the staff are very efficient, and you won't be waiting long for anything. While BBQ Joe's serves up the chopped or pulled pork that is synonymous with the Tarheel State, don't go looking for the classic Lexington-style experience. They have a variety of sauces as well as ribs, chicken, smoked turkey, and brisket. Stop in before 11, and you can feast on a variety of biscuits. For my most recent visit, I picked up a chopped brisket sandwich with white slaw, a side of hushpuppies, and a banana pudding. The food was prepped quickly and brought out with a smile. The brisket couldn't touch what I had in Texas, but for High Point, it was definitely respectable. Though not as smokey as I would have hoped for, the meat was tender, and the sandwich held plenty of it. That said, the house Joe's sauce runs a bit sweet, and you might want to add a dash of something spicier. While the ring-shaped hushpuppies were addictively crispy and delicious, the banana pudding rated as tasty but unremarkable. BBQ Joe's is a reliable option for good food and fast service. You can find better barbecue if you're inclined to travel, but for High Point proper, this is it.

Not many dining choices in this area. Ample parking and a large dining area with tables efficiently serviced so that they turn over quickly. Our wait for a table was only 10-minutes, following a group of 18! The service was the star of the experience. Very efficient, helpful, attentive servers. Shout out to Suzanna. The large staff worked well together and seemed to make everyone feel comfortable. The ambience is southern, hometown casual. You feel like you are visiting your large family from start to finish. Nothing pretentious. Clean enough. Comfortable. Pricing....in this time of food inflation, this restaurant still offers amazing prices. My husband and I had two large dinner entrees with water and our bill came to just under $24.00. Our portions were generous as evidence in the photo. Our waitress recommended the grilled pork chops which were hot, juicy and seasoned just right. They came with two veggie sides from a long list of choices. I chose collard greens and Mac and cheese. These items were just average and only luke warm as was the biscuit (from a choice of about 5 bread options). Had the sides been hot and a little more flavorful, I would have given 5 stars. For vegetarians and all-day breakfast eaters, Cooper Pot is your place; so much to choose from on their menu. Vegans might struggle as most southern cooking includes dairy and it looks as if they cook their sides in large quantities and keep them in a warmer to serve. The ability to respond quickly to large numbers of travelers and locals, with solid, well-priced, filling meals is the gift of the Copper Pot. We will return when traveling their way.
