The first car we we're charge a ridiculous fee for labor for a problem that he didn't even fix claiming we told him we would have it done somewhere else. We paid him more than $400 to not have it fixed. Took it to another mechanic that charged us $200 to actually fix it! We continue to get the run around on a truck has been at true speed for over 2 months! We've already given John over $2000 for repairs that have not been done! We keep hearing excuses that they can't finish because they keep receiving the "wrong part". The 3rd car we made a huge mistake buy sending one of our customers to John. The original quote increased by more than $200 and was weeks later than promised. Our customers finally got it back today only to find out that one of the O2 sensors than was supposed to have been repaired hasn't been. We're having to take it to another mechanic again who says it will be about $275 and can have it in a few days. In the mean time we are lending them one of our cars for the second time because we feel so bad that they keep getting screwed over by John. We are just starting out and are barely making it ourselves. We lose money everyday that this truck is sitting at his shop not getting anything done. At this point all he has done is make things worse. It isn't drive-able and we can't afford to take it to another mechanic to have it fixed. We have to make huge payment to our bank every month- but John apparently doesn't care about his customers, deadlines or actually running his business. John is as crooked as they come! You might be tempted to stop by and see if they might be a better option for you. They are not. Wasatch Customs does terrible work, unskilled employees, and they're more expensive. Midway through that trip, I found a rock chip on the hood of the otherwise pristine car. I called and made an appointment from Portland, OR. When I got home to Morgan, they fixed that rock chip for an absurdly low price. Last January, the rear bumper cover got a deep scratch and a bunch of scuffs from backing into the blade of my snowplow. I was certain that I needed to take it to a Tesla certified body shop, which I did. I got an estimate that had 4 numbers before the decimal point! Completely outrageous. I took the car for a second opinion and Canyon Collision Repair came through again. I just got the car back today (after only 3 days) and the paint match and fit/finish work is outstanding. Yes it's an hour drive from SLC into a beautiful valley where there is no smog and it 's like driving into Mayberry in the Mountains. These guys are honest, great, will tell you truth and charge you a fair price. My son got his mirror ripped off when a bicyclist downtown slammed in to his car without even stopping. All of the bids he was getting were ridiculous for the fix. He drove an hour paid 1/3 of the cost and even got to eat greasy fries at the Hitching Post. If you are frustrated with your choices along the Wasatch Front take the drive, call ahead so they expect you. Save lots of moolah and spend the day in a Mountain Village that will make you happy and a break from the inversion. What's not to love?
