Overpriced I went in with a simple problem of "hey will you…read moreidentify this clicking noise that just started up?" I then left it in their care expecting a call back later to tell me what it was. The call came except instead of telling me what it was they said the noise wasn't there and neither of their guys heard anything. Except at that point it was already on the lift so they could inspect it. This was Friday close to closing at this point so they kept it over the weekend. I get an invoice on Monday for $185 and a recommended service that would've added another $323. For what I wonder? Oh that's just the single hour rate plus shop supplies and tax. An hour to tell me they didn't hear the noise anymore? That would've taken 5 minutes on a test drive. That's all I wanted. I never asked for them to inspect the whole car for problems (which they did anyway). I certainly wasn't expecting to pay close to $200 for a problem that apparently went away. When I went in to pick up my car, I asked about that. I pointed out that their hourly rate was nowhere to be found and I didn't like that I was blindsided by it after the fact. The owner told me to look on his website. I already had. Just to make sure after I got home, I looked again. Still no mention of the hourly rate anywhere on the website and certainly nowhere to be found in the lobby. This would be a completely different story had they actually found the noise that I'd been hearing and completely different yet again if they'd actually posted their hourly rate. I was fully expecting to pay them for identifying the sound, that's not the problem here. They just straight up didn't do that and instead did extra work and charged me for it. Should I have been clear that if for some reason the noise didn't happen anymore that I just wanted a call back to come pick up my car? Probably. I just didn't at all see that as a possibility because I'd looked and hadn't seen anything super obvious and yet the noise persisted across multiple times turning the car on and off and driving at various speeds. Both of our faults? Maybe. But clear communication earlier in the process would have been awesome.

I was able to wait at the location for my car to be finished, and they have a very clean and comfortable waiting area that even includes a small corner where kids can play. The price may be a bit higher than other fast-service oil change places, but it's worth it since I trust that this Burt Brothers will make up for it with their quality and service.

I had a flat repaired by the Burt Brothers in Layton in May 2026, but after 4 months I noticed this…read moretire had dropped 10 psi overnight in comparison to the other tires. I took it back to the same location and they said the cause was a failed repair patch in the shoulder area of the tire . They asked who repaired it because shoulder repairs are not recommended or advised. I told the service manager that his shop repaired it 4 months ago and never advised me that a new tire replacement was advised or there was an issue with the repair location. They simply just repaired it and sent me on my way. He advised it be replaced but they did not have a new tire in stock and he said they could try to repair the patch until a new tire could be installed. I said that would be fine and I drove to work a few miles away. On my way, I received an alert stating my tire pressure was at 80 psi. I thought it had to be a glitch but when I checked it was definitely over-inflated. I took a screen capture after letting some air out (see photo) where it shows it had been reduced to 71 psi. I called the shop and asked why they would inflate a tire to 80 psi, reinstall the tire and tell me I was good to drive away. I've been relying on Discount Tire for years but decided to try Burt Brothers due to the convenience of this location near my office. I have a long 60 mile freeway commute and had I driven at high speeds at this over-inflated psi I likely would've risked a catastrophic failure. This was dangerous and negligent repair work on two separate occasions and I cannot recommend them, nor will I ever return to this location.

I called them out on the dishonest way they handled the transaction and demanded a partial refund. The manager admitted that's the way they do business but did agree to refund a portion of the bill. They also tried to charge me $49 for "shop supplies" without disclosing that ridiculous amount to me before authorizing the work. We had a discussion about that also and agreed that $10 was more realistic. They have an interesting business model.

I was Recommended to go to one of the Master AutoTechs by several people here in town{Ogden}. I instead checked the reviews and saw that Paskett Auto had Way More History and Great Reviews online. So I went with them Instead Before I took it there, I brought my car to Autozone there on Riverdale to get their diagnostic test, and then brought the Print Outs to Paskett Auto, and handed it to them. The Nice Lady, Brenda said not to worry, as their guys will do their own tests and resolve the Check-Engine Light issue from there. The guys come back from the garage, and recommended I have them Replace all the Spark Plugs and Coils, and since I don't like to Procrastinate, I just told them, ok, I'll go with it all now then just to get it over with. After the Job was Done, the guy behind the Counter{my memory with names are so bad sometimes, I'm sorry} told me that those parts come with warranty, and that if any issues occur, be sure to come back. Hey! The Check-Engine Light was gone, and it seems that everything is ok! ~ 2 Days Later, my Check-Engine Light comes right back on, and this sucks because it's Thanksgiving Day! No shop is going to be open, but Paskett Auto did promise that Warranty with the parts, And Sadly, I'm Not Swimming In Money, so my Best Bet would be to just go Back to them. Is this even a good idea? From Thanksgiving day, the Friday after, and the Weekend, they're closed those 4 days... which is Understandable, It's a Holiday Weekend.. I drove my car back to Autozone there on Riverdale Rd on Thanksgiving{Surprisingly they Were Open} because I don't like to procrastinate ~ to see what the problem is This Time, and it's the same exact Issues, the Same Cylinders showing that they're Misfiring! The fellas there told me that the shop I took it to could have just Said they switched out all the coils and spark plugs, but instead, just left a few old ones, or not have done it at all. I hope they're wrong. I think from this lesson, Now On, I'm going to stick to what the locals recommend{as I'm new to this city Ogden}, rather than try and go forward just based off of my Own research. Sucks because I'm not making that much money at this time, and I get Gypped like this. Life has many curveballs that's for sure. It's a 2015 Volvo, nothing super fancy. It's Also not in terrible shape, so I'm grateful, but from the indicator, it Needs to be worked on... again, for the Same Issue. I had to be at work at 8am Monday Morning, the Monday right after that 4-day weekend, so I called the Paskett Auto Number Earlier Than their Opening Time [7:55am], and to my Surprise Brenda Picked up the Phone! My Plan was to just leave a voicemail and ask for a Scheduled Time to possibly swing the car by to hopefully get this situation resolved? That Repair was Not a Cheap Fix. I just told her my situation instead because she Did pick up, but I had to Work in 5 Minutes, so I told her I'll Call them again once I get off of work, and rushed into the clock-in room. When I got off work I did call, but instead, after each call attempt the Hang-Up Tone Went Off after ringing for a short time. I called the number a little more spaced apart just to see if maybe they were just too busy at the moment, or if all the people at the desk might be in the restroom. The phone just rang for Less than a minute before the Hang Up Tone/Disconnected Alarm-sounding tone went off. What the heck? After This Behavior, there's No Way I can trust them now! My goal was to at least ask them for the next possible time I can swing my car around, especially with the problem Not fixed, and with the Amount I payed That Day After Their Own Diagnosis and Repair Solution. This is just it, I can't figure out why they won't pick back up, and after that 5-Call Attempt becoming Hang-Ups, I don't think I can even trust this business again, even with All their Wonderful Reviews! What the heck?? If you're Not From around here, or look very young, I'm guessing it's Just Safer or just Smarter to stay away from this business, and maybe check out a Master Autozone like I was recommended here several times beforehand. 2nd time having issues here now…read more I specifically requested an AC diagnostic and explained upfront that I had already replaced the compressor, had the system charged the day before, and that a full leak/pressure test had already been performed. Instead of moving forward with a true diagnostic, they repeated the exact same service (discharge and recharge) that had just been done, and then charged me $285 for it. In the end, I'm back to square one--still not knowing what's wrong with my AC, but now out the money for a redundant service I did not need. To make it worse, I was told I'd need to pay even more for a diagnostic... which is what I had asked for in the first place. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. Be careful coming here for service and make sure they're clear on what you're requesting, or you may end up paying twice without answers. Always ask for Donny. He is awesome! He wasn't available when this happened.
