However, the tech working with him was completely unprofessional seemed to have an attitude like he didn't want to be at work. If this is how the employees are gonna act at this location I'll go back to the South Ogden one where are the employees actually give a shit. Another thing I would like to also mention is it yesterday evening, Tuesday, September 24 the Layton location was also completely understaffed, which is why I went this morning. I cannot say enough good things about Dylan Nicholson, owner of Mobile Auto Repair & Locksmith…read more I've had the opportunity to have Dylan work on my snow blower, and I've also seen the quality of his work firsthand on engines he worked on for my neighbor. We were both extremely pleased with the results. Dylan is not only an excellent mechanic, but a man of the highest integrity. He is honest, dependable, reasonably priced, and truly stands behind his work. What impressed me most was how clean and professional he was, and he took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and why. That kind of service and communication is becoming harder and harder to find. Dylan works on just about anything with a motor, and I would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending him to my family, friends, and anyone looking for someone they can trust. If you need a mechanic who knows what he's doing, treats you right, charges a fair price, and stands behind his work, I highly recommend Dylan Nicholson and Mobile Auto Repair & Locksmith. 801-317-8606

My daughter went in for an oil change, Grease Monkey charged her for an extra quart. The next day…read moreshe was complaining her car was blowing white smoke when starting. Googled the issue and top hit was oil overfilled. Checked the oil level and it was 1/3 of the way up the stick or about 5 inches . I took it back and they drained the extra out saying some cars take more even for the same engine which was puzzling. Took home checked the level and it was still 1/5 up the stick or 2 inches. Took it back again and they redid the oil change showing me the level before I left. No more smoking. Fast forward two weeks, my son in law took his Audi A3 for an oil change to the same Grease Monkey in Clinton. I told him to tell them if his car needs more than 5 quarts which is the base price to say we'll add the rest at home. The base price for full synthetic was $89. When they finished and he went to pay they asked for $135. They said they used upgraded oil, filter, and whatever else. Nothing was told to him prior for the upsell. They just did the work. This Grease Monkey has been our go to up to this point. My daughter played soccer with the owner's granddaughter so I'm adding this review in hopes they see this and can make some policy or personnel changes. Until then I'll take my business elsewhere.

2nd time having issues here now…read more I specifically requested an AC diagnostic and explained upfront that I had already replaced the compressor, had the system charged the day before, and that a full leak/pressure test had already been performed. Instead of moving forward with a true diagnostic, they repeated the exact same service (discharge and recharge) that had just been done, and then charged me $285 for it. In the end, I'm back to square one--still not knowing what's wrong with my AC, but now out the money for a redundant service I did not need. To make it worse, I was told I'd need to pay even more for a diagnostic... which is what I had asked for in the first place. Very frustrating and disappointing experience. Be careful coming here for service and make sure they're clear on what you're requesting, or you may end up paying twice without answers. Always ask for Donny. He is awesome! I have used this facility mostly for emissions and inspections for my vehicles and motorcycles over…read morethe years. On my latest visit, I was coming in for emissions, and pulled up to the back doors. I was greeted by a technician upon exiting my car, and she checked me in at a garage computer. She didn't give me a time frame, but told me to wait in the waiting room. As I was walking to the waiting room, I saw she was checking in another vehicle that arrived after I did for a similar emissions and registration. While waiting, other customers were talking about the online coupons for emissions, so I checked the website and downloaded a $6 off emissions coupon. It seemed like the wait was a little longer than I expected since they didn't seem to be overly busy. I noticed that the vehicle that arrived just after I did was completed and paid before they finished my car. I must have got the slower tech I guess. I also had to wait again, while my car was left running just outside the bay doors, for the cashier to complete another customer before I could pay and get on my way. The waiting are had a restroom, drink vending machine, and several adequate but not comfy chairs. There were TV's mounted on the upper wall area, but they only showed a menu of service options and advertised their services, not any programming to watch. I will likely return here again for similar services in the future.
