GO ANYWHERE ELSE. They don't even deserve one star. I used this company for annual Generac service for several years, without issues. However, at the latest annual service call, the technician -- without my knowledge or authorization -- installed a $600 part (which I am not convinced even was necessary, as the generator had been running fine). The whopping-big invoice I received a week or so later was a nasty surprise. They apologized when I contacted them. The woman with whom I spoke, who claimed to be the owner, even told me that they'd recently had other complaints about that technician recently?! I paid for the unauthorized work, which I felt was pretty generous of me.
Today, my power went out. As expected, the generator kicked on automatically. The only problem is that it didn't provide any power to my house. Technician screw-up X2. I called to request an urgent service call to fix the error and was told a technician was there in the office and would be right out. When he eventually arrived, the fun really started.
First, he chastised me for being "mean to [his] mother" on the phone?! (For the record, I'd been nothing but polite her. I'd merely reiterated that the annual service call had been a problem, and that I was in the middle of an emergency as a result.) He claimed to own the company and said he doesn't need problem customers like me; I am welcome to take my business elsewhere. Hoo boy. I'll spare you the details of the rest of our conversation, which continued in the same vein. Fortunately, my power had come back on in the meantime, so I wasn't at the mercy of this surly, petulant man. I went inside while he went around the house to the generator. Soon thereafter, a heard him drive away. I had no idea what, if anything, he'd done or if the problem was fixed.
I called the business once again and informed Mr. Surly's mother of what had gone down. Apologies and acknowledgment that Mr. Surly is not a people person. Then another man, the third one to tell me he's the business owner, got on the phone with more apologies and acknowledgment that Mr. Surly is not a people person.
"That's not how we treat our customers." Well apparently, it is.
TL;dr: Any other company in the region will do better work and treat you better than All Install. Spare yourself the grief and steer clear. read more
