The shed was resided and the roof shingles also replaced all to coordinate with the house!! Glenn explained all details to me! The shingles and siding were by Certainteed a high quality brand. I was especially pleased that he replaced the gutters!! May sound unusual to like gutters so much but these new ones were upgraded to 6" and have oversized downspouts And leaf guards!! I also mentioned the water heater was 15+ years old. He gave me 3 options and I chose to repipe, replace the water heater, and to consider the neutralizer next year. Materials were ordered and the crew worked hard completing the whole house in three days. That's quite a feat in a log cabin as nothing is easy. They were very professional, courteous and did a great job as always. Two weeks later I called them back for a slow storm drain after the July 2 hour storm which dumped 3.75" of rain.. They scoped it and located my problem. Now I can sleep soundly and get new floors installed without worry of them being ruined.

The plumber was assertive about not putting the bricks back under HWH. My research found that it's a recommended practice to set the HWH on bricks though it could be done either way. I wanted the bricks back where they were. It was resolved after I spoke with his supervisor and the work was completed to my satisfaction. The price they charged was exorbitant ($1,340.05...and 5 cents!!!) but I accepted it because I just wanted it done. I thought I'd found my go-to plumber but after this experience, I'm not sure I'd use them again.

After initially contacting them in October of 2022, I didn't receive an estimate until the end of December, but I told them I didn't mind waiting until after the new year to begin. In February, we made some adjustments to the design & finally had a solid plan & an AGREED UPON PRICE. I was told they'd send me a 3D rendering of my kitchen in 2 weeks so we could choose cabinet & counter colors. In March I still hadn't heard anything, so checked in to see how things were coming along & was told by the new rep, (I think his name was Obed) that my previous sales rep no longer worked there. I specifically asked if they still wanted to do this job or if they were too busy. He assured me they were able to go forward but I guess they didn't have the old rep's notes, so we had to start over. We had a couple of cancelled appointments due to COVID, but several guys came out June 3rd & offered some great ideas. I gave them copies of my print out that listed all the work I needed done & asked if this could be accomplished within my budget. Obed said that as long as we chose the less expensive cabinets it should work. He said he'd get me a new quote by the next week. By the end of July I still hadn't heard anything so I (again very nicely) checked in. They had obviously forgotten all about me & hastily threw together an estimate (forgetting a lot of the things we'd talked about even though I printed out the plan for them). It was $25,000 more than the agreed upon price, but it also didn't include several of the things I needed done, reused my old gutters instead of replacing them (as Obed himself had insisted we needed to do) and on top of all that, now I had to buy many of the materials myself! I can only imagine how much higher the costs would soar after THAT added expense! The new estimate was an increase of more than a THIRD of the total project, and that's BEFORE adding in the materials! The initial quote included everything. I was understandably upset, since I thought we were ready to proceed on roughly the original February quote ... that we'd already agreed to. I get that prices have increased, but I doubt they've gone up over 40% in just 4 months! Plus, the delay was on THEIR end. Still, I didn't get mean, yell or curse. I just said this felt like a "bait & switch." They clearly found this very offensive and sent me back a dismissive email "wishing me the best of luck with my new contractors." They offered no apology for wasting almost a year of my time & made no attempt to sit down and look over the estimate to see if we could cut costs somewhere ... Nothing but a kiss-off, and after I waited so patiently, without a single complaint ... for NINE MONTHS! This is not how professionals treat their clients. They have great reviews on other sites, but I'd strongly advise you to be wary of this company. They do put estimates in writing but it would be very wise to insist on a Start Date & a Locked-in Price. A quote in writing clearly means nothing.

At first, Daniel seemed professional and knowledgeable and I was eager to do business with him. We agreed on a price and he said he had stock coming in within a few months. This sounded awesome because everyone else was saying they were back-ordered for considerably longer. Soon after this, he contacted me to say that he needed full payment for the generator before he could order it. Asking for $6,000 before any work is done is unusual and I felt uncomfortable. I told him I'd be willing to provide a 10% earnest payment upfront, but I couldn't give a complete stranger $6,000 without some guarantee. I thought that was the end. A week later he gets back to me and says he'd be willing to bring the generator and put it in place and take payment for the generator then. I spoke with a different contractor I'd contacted and told him that Malack had agreed to install. About a month later Dan advises me that the generator has arrived, but he's on vacation and will get to it when he returns. He tells me later that he's filed the electrical permit (I just checked. If he filed it, it's not listed as issued in our county.) I hear nothing from him for another week. I check my phone 2 days ago and there's a voice message, from a few hours earlier, from Dan saying that he wants to come out today to drop off the generator. I'm elated and call him back to tell him I'm home and whenever is good for him, I'm here. I go to check my emails and there's an email from him saying he's decided to NOT install my generator. I've called his cell and office number numerous times and emailed trying to find out what the issue was. His email said something about being concerned I wouldn't pay. Utter nonsense. Maybe he was holding a grudge because I didn't pay him $6k upfront. At this point, I've wasted 2 months waiting on him. I've made arrangements to have a propane installation in preparation for the generator, and I've twice told the only other Generac dealer in our area that I was sorry, but Malack was going to do the install. What other qualities he has, Dan's business, Malack Electric, is not run professionally. If you like to dance, he may be a good choice but I'd steer clear of him, at least for now. Hopefully, he won't treat others this way.

Although this local company is well established, I am at a loss with Generac Corporate for the…read moreinherent design flaws in my 60Hz Air-Cooled Generator. I only discovered after incurring an $889. bill less than 2 years into ownership that this product inherently attracts ants, both through the hum and the adhesive itself in the control panel, attracts ants. A corporate person I spoke with in Wisconsin told me the company is working on a re-design. My control panel was destroyed to the tune of $600. and the battery at $150.; both attributable to the ants. (add labor and house call) Noteworthy is the fact that the base of this unit comes with "carrying holes" for the unit to be set into place at your location. There exists "fascia cap kits" made for those holes, to keep the mice, etc out; but you must ask for it from corporate and pay for it. It was also advised that I should silicone around these caps. Despite corporate telling me they'd send me the caps, at their expense, they now say they have no record of my phone call. I believe this kit should come with silicone gaskets especially designed for these fascia caps, and come installed with each unit. Needless to say, although the Never Dark folks are nice. I am not a satisfied customer of Generac's; as its painfully obvious Generac has transparency issues with its customers. Also obvious, is the fact that this problem generates sales for corporate's bottomline.
