Roman's Upholstery - Front bow

Roman's Upholstery

Roman's had been recommended to me by a general classic car repair shop. It's pretty far from my…read morehouse in Solano County, but after reading the reviews here, I decided to take my 1963 T-Bird convertible there. His entire staff is very friendly and helpful and while I was there the first time, I talked to another customer who told me he was very happy with past work there and had brought another project that day. Roman's installed new seat covers and foam, new door panels and swapped out my old incorrect seat belts for ones that matched what would have been installed in back in the '60's with the addition of matching belt retractors and belt reveal moldings. The brackets that came with the belts had to be modified there (by welding) to get the exact fit that I wanted, but this was no issue for Roman's. At one point Lupe called me and asked me to come up for a visit to see that everything was going the way I wanted it. When I arrived, Roman said everything was going OK except for one BIG problem. It turns out that the new door panels that I had procured and that Roman had sent out to be painted to match the interior were the wrong door panels. To be sure they were ALMOST the correct panels, so close that all the trim had already been attached and only when the door was closed was the problem discovered. Roman let that information sink in for a minute before saying that he had a proposal to fix the problem that we could discuss. Long story short, he modified the door panels to fit the car, then added a perfectly matching strip of padded vinyl to cover the modification in such a way that only a VERY knowledgeable person would know that anything is out of the ordinary. In fact the modification is better than what came from the factory and tiny exposed seam--about 3 inches long--is only visible when the door is wide open. Again, even with the door open, it would take a very knowledgeable person to see what had not been that way from the factory. Very reasonable prices, too. I wish I had known about this place sooner, in time to do my other car that ended up with some issues.

After the worst consumer experience of my life at another upholstery shop (see a few reviews back),…read moreNate's absolutely nailed it. This is a well ran business that understands good customer service. I went in for a quote on having my boat seats reupholstered and was told they were running about three months out which is pretty much the story of everything right now. I explained that I was trying to get my boat on the market to sell while it's still early in the season and asked if there were any other options. The owner thought about it a minute and said how about $100 extra and I'll have someone do some overtime to get it done. I was thrilled at the option and the effort made and an extra $100 seemed very reasonable to get something in a week versus three months. I was told it would be about a week or so. Having just been burned at another upholstery shop, I was a little skeptical of the "or so" part. Man was I surprised to get a call at noon six days later telling my seats were ready to be picked up. On top of that the seats looked absolutely perfect. The retail area is clean and organized. This business is ran with professionalism while maintaining a personable experience at the same time. I could not have been more pleased with my entire experience and recommend this business to anyone needing upholstery work done.

Involving and promoting other shops in your review while making accusations about our work is inappropriate and unfair, especially when those businesses were not part of the original transaction. Because of the tone and conduct in your messages, you will not be meeting with me or any of my staff on Monday or at any other time going forward. I will not tolerate being spoken to in the manner you have been addressing me. If you believe you have a warranty concern related to XPEL products, I am happy to refer you to another certified XPEL installer who can assist you with evaluating or processing any potential warranty claim. That would be the appropriate path moving forward. I wish you the best and hope you are able to resolve your concerns through another certified shop." keep in mind he's the one who contacted and showed up first . to multiple shops after I chose his competitor(s) haven't seen this man since 2024. Not even asking for free work or anything warranty related. After he did this whole act he must be called out especially as an adult business owner with a law degree like himself. My response; Michael Justis This response is exactly what I expected. Instead of addressing the workmanship concerns, you're choosing to label my feedback as malicious and shut down any opportunity to actually review the issues. What's inappropriate is refusing to stand behind your work when a customer raises legitimate concerns after spending around $7,500 on a full vehicle wrap and related services. My intention was simply to have a professional conversation and give you the opportunity to inspect the areas I mentioned. Multiple installers have already pointed out the same issues with visible edges and areas that were not properly tucked. That's not an accusation--it's a quality concern. Your decision not to even look at the vehicle or discuss a resolution speaks for itself. I will continue addressing the issues with another certified installer as suggested. Take care.

The bottom was falling out. The springs were so far gone that every time you sat in it you felt like you might actually fall through. Artisan Interiors rebuilt the interior completely, eight-way hand-tied springs, the whole structure, and saved the original fabric his grandmother had chosen. All of it. They polished the wood while they had it. Two to three weeks, reasonable price, no drama. David runs the operation and was easy to talk to from the first conversation. Knowledgeable, straightforward, no overselling. It's a family business -- his father is the upholsterer -- and it shows in how they treat what you bring them. I didn't fully understand how damaged it was until I got it back. Now it feels the way it was supposed to feel. Solid. Sturdy. You can sit in it comfortably without holding your breath. It's been around for two hundred years, and with good care it'll be around for two hundred more. Thank you Artisan Interiors!
