I took a gamble and as a bucket list purchase bought an '08 A6 Quattro. It was a gamble. There is a reason I don't go to Vegas or any casinos. This could've been considered a real bad bet. My local shop was not able to deal with all the issues they found. Good thing for me they pointed me to AGP. They were not only the specialists able to deal with what that shop found, they dealt with all the other things they didn't. I have had this to them several times now working through the list of items that needed done. I just got that list retired and picked the car up today. I have to say that not only was this bet a winner, so is this car. This is finally the car I thought I was buying. Not only did they do the work, and do it right, they also treated me like I had been coming here for a decade or more rather than just months. I only take the time to write reviews when my experience was abnormally terrible or exceptionally remarkable...and I have nothing but high praise for AGP. After driving over a mystery object in the road that led to a cracked transmission pan, I struggled unsuccessfully for days to find a shop in town that was willing and capable of replacing it. I called AGP on a whim after driving by their garage on Hendersonville road...the rest was cake. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked my car up after hours (via their convenient lockbox for customers), my entire experience with AGP was probably the most seamless and effortless I've had in dealing with an auto mechanic (and I've had dozens). I brought in my Tiguan for brakes to be checked and replaced. The shop did not tell me my back pad was worn 90% and replaced the front brakes with metallic pads when I specifically asked for ceramic. They also replaced my front rotors. The brakes were squealing badly but agp insisted the car was fine. So I brought the car to another shop which is how I was able to confirm these problems. Now I am left with glazed rotors and an empty spot in my wallet even though I am going to have to re-do all the work agp "professionally"performed. Thanks agp! This refers to work done in the spring of 2023. It's taken me a while to write this because I wanted to be fair and not just reactive. My 2007 Audi needed major work and AGP was the first place I found that would take it on. My timing chain tensioner had broken resulting in damage to the chain, valves, and the variable valve timing actuator. This was easily over $4k. The good news is that AGP finally got it right. Even more good news is that AGP paid to have the car towed back to the shop because it wasn't right, TWICE. The bad news is that the car Had to be towed back to the shop twice. The first time we picked up the car the Check Engine Light came on in the AGP parking lot. There was some talk of possible bad gas, since the car has sat not running for over a month. We needed the use of the car so we took it home where I read the codes which were P0017 and P1739, both cam timing problems. AGP had just replaced all the mechanical parts involved with cam timing, so I figured this was still their problem. We kept the car for a week, it ran badly most of the time, and then the car was towed back to AGP. Two weeks later, with assurances that they had done everything possible and it was running great with no codes, we picked it up the second time. They had put a total of 3 miles on the car, including any test driving of it. The Check Engine Light came on before I got to the first traffic light. I kept going with the car running Very Badly and tried my own diagnostics at home. This time the codes were P0011 and P0016, also cam timing. But this time the car became essentially undriveable. Zero power from idle. I proved to myself that the Variable Valve Timing was not working At All, and the car was towed back to AGP. After a few days AGP called and said that they'd tried everything and couldn't figure it out. They didn't know what else to do. Then the next day they called and said it was fixed (and it was). When I picked the car up I asked if there had been an "ah-ha" moment but they said no, that they just tried one more time. I remain skeptical about that. The car has run fine since. So AGP stood behind their work and finally got it right (yay!). They were also clearly out of their depth on this problem, and they also clearly didn't test drive the car sufficiently (boo!). I would/might use them again for some service that wasn't overly complex, but I would not use them for something complicated. This only applies to Audis. I don't know how they might fare on some other German make. read more

Costs are Less than dealerships. They are different in that you have to wait for an appointment to get your car fixed but on time when your car is finished. I have a one year warranty on my repairs done. So far I had a coil pack replacement done at 50k miles and had a mid rear engine seal replaced. 12 hours of work. I looked around and compared rates and agp was the best choice. read more

For starters, I have been a loyal customer for years even to the point of hiring Lyft service so this place could change oil at their convenience. Then was told I needed a valve cover with spark plugs for $1000. Then they said afterwards I needed a new engine and maybe a transmission. I was hassled to remove my non drivable vehicle (drove in, couldn't drive out). Then struggled to get a vehicle and Daniel put a mechanic lean on my new vehicle without even acknowledging that I paid $500 toward a bc $750 bill. So sad. We could have worked out this situation money hungry scammers. Oh yeah and I totally left them off the hook for my steering wheel clock spring repair for $700. Go screw yourselves Daniel read more

Please avoid this place at all costs! I brought my Audi Q7 to AGP at the recommendation of my mechanic because they had a machine that would bleed the air out of my cooling system. I was told by Joey that his tech had drained the coolant a number of times to flush the system. I'm not an ASE certified mechanic but I was a diesel mech during my time in USMC so I know the cooling system has to be bled to remove the air out of the system. I was told my car had been driven at least a couple of times for at least 30 minutes to make sure it was functioning correctly and I was told it performed correctly during that time. What I received, after driving 2 hours to the AGP shop with my family, was a vehicle that was missing the engine cover, the dipstick had been broken and a vehicle that overheated less than 30 minutes after leaving their shop because there was NO COOLANT in the reservoir. If you look at my pictures and listen to the videos you'll see no coolant in the reservoir and hear that the pumps are not pumping anything. All I can say is that I'm totally baffled at the lack of professionalism by this company and I highly urge anyone to look elsewhere. I don't know maybe I wasn't the right type of customer for them because their techs didn't look very happy to see me walking by the bays when I showed up but either way I won't be doing business with them anymore because they definitely don't care about all of their customers. read more

I wish I could give this guy a good review but I just can't based on my experience. I took my BMW here to get an oil leak fixed.. said he fixed it and done. Paid it. Well.. no my car is still leaking. If you still have to receipt and the problem isn't fixed you can go back and ask them to help you again-no charge. So I did.. he was not happy that I had come back claiming it wasn't fixed. Says he fixed it.. no. I took my car to a different mechanic and he even confirmed that it wasn't fixed at all. I appreciate that they tried but.. for some reason it just didn't work out with these guys. read more

Daniel and All German Performance took great care of my 1998 Porsche Boxster. When I purchased the vehicle, it was not running well at all and had a series of check engine codes. The previous owner had the issue diagnosed at a Porsche dealer as a catalytic converter problem, but I took it to Daniel for a second opinion. Daniel immediately diagnosed the issue as a likely timing problem completely unrelated to the initial diagnosis. Unfortunately, the issue turned out to be rather complex but Daniel's analysis was spot on. He was incredibly fair with labor costs throughout the process and worked with me to source the parts needed at the lowest cost. After a few visits to his shop, my car is running great and the previous issues are completely resolved. I own a 2009 Audi A4 3.0 liter Quattro and Daniel serviced my vehicle 4 times from 04/20/2018 until 08/06/2019. My car has 121k miles and I spent $4,191.19 during this period with Daniel to make sure it was well-maintained. I have been happy in the past. My trouble has been recent. On 02/22, I spent $1545.62 for service that included new rotors and pads on all wheels. A few weeks ago (08/22), I noticed a heavy amount of brake dust and my brakes would periodically go soft and need to be pumped. I took the car to Daniel after needing a week ahead to schedule and diagnosis produced no results and I was told that the pads and rotors seemed fine. I was recommended that my brake line be flushed. We decided that I'd leave and return if the issue popped up again. Sure enough, it wasn't two days later and the issue was worse. This time, I could hear screeching from rotors and a strong burning smell. I called back to say it's still an issue and was told that they could flush the brake line and that I'd need to wait a week. So basically I waited a week, the issue wasn't diagnosed properly, now I wait another week to get in a do 'a flush'. I decided to abandon AGP and go elsewhere. The new shop was able to find that my calipers were sticking but damage had been done and the pads and rotors would need to be replaced. This will be a costly repair. My issues: 1. The fact that I spent $850 on brakes 6 months ago should result in some courtesy on this issue, especially given the $4,191.19 spent over a 1 year and 4 month period. 2. Daniel did not properly diagnose my stuck caliper issue and the recommendation to flush my brake lines was not correct. 3. Although I already scheduled a visit and was not diagnosed, I should not have to wait a week each time on a follow-up just because you didn't find the problem. The latest call was treated as a new issue and scheduled as such--not a return on a missed diagnosis. By the way, my new mechanic had good things to say about Daniel and did not want to take his business. He even called Daniel directly to discuss but AGP did not change their attitude or approach. This was the deal-breaker for me that caused me to switch my business. They simply did not care. 4. Daniel & AGP are busy, therefore they don't really need my business. They already have enough customers. read more

i googled certified vw mechanics after 3 difficult dealings with Harmony motors. Daniel is congenial, efficient and i think....very honest. he repaired my vehicle for substantially less than what Harmony motors quoted and completed the repair in under half the time estimated by Harmony. Harmony would have charged me more for the labor (estimated at 1 1/2-2 hrs) and significantly more for the part. I will definitely return to AGP for my next car service. I trust him and his rates were very fair. I do NOT trust Harmony motors after this experience. read more

My VW Passat was having transmission issues. I took it to AGP thinking they were reputable. Boy was I wrong. I am honestly shocked so many people trust them to work on their car. I'm not saying all this to grind an ax. I really want people to know how they really are. The process seemed smooth at first. The transmission was installed, and the price seemed fair. That is until I got in to dive away hearing this horrible squeaking sound on every pothole. They knew this when test driving after the repair but instead of looking to what might be causing it, they simply listed that it needs a new front strut. Struts were fine when dropping it off. No idea how they thought they could get away with just listing some crap on the repair bill and just go about their day. I took the car to another shop and they noticed the sway bars were not hooked up after the repair. Who forgets to hook up the sway bars?!? Was very obvious once you looked behind the wheels. Took the car back and they hooked them up like no biggie. I mentioned it has a squeak that shouldn't be there and hopefully it's from them not hooking up the sway bar. Still squeaks. Time passes with dealing with this annoying squeak. Now comes the good part. Read this part carefully. The car completely goes ape s**t! You drive it and it tries to throw you into the other lane or the ditch--hard! No acceleration needed. Wildly and without warning it felt like the front wheels would just flop from side to side. I'm not talking subtly! It was impossible to drive safely! No joke! White knuckle driving required all while fearing for your life. I take the car to them straight away. I pull up with my 2 small kids. Tell them that the car is deadly to drive. The owner (Daniel) takes it for a test dive. Comes back and says something to the affect. Yeah, it has something wrong with it. You need to go take it for an alignment. I state "will this fix the car from veering sharply from side to side?". He says verbatim "you have to start somewhere" and gets up and leaves the front office. Just a test drive to see it is deadly. Does he bring it into the shop to take a look? No! WTF!?!?! Let me just get in my car with my kids and drive this death machine to try for an alignment. This guy doesn't give a f**k! I take the car to another shop. Pay more money and they notice a broke in half engine mount and a subframe that is wildly loose (the cause of the deadly jerking side to side--shifting subframe). All it would have taken is for Daniel to put it up on a lift and check the tightness of the bolts. This was too much for Daniel to handle apparently. He would rather me drive off in a dangerous car with my kids. Alignment my ass!! Daniel is delusional with his abilities in car repair. In the end I recommend taking your car to Ben's Motor Werks (1404 7th Ave E Hendersonville, NC 28792). He knows lots about German and foreign cars and takes his time to diagnose the problems. He cares that things are done right and will not shoo you away with some BS guessing at a problem. Daniel needs to find a job at a carnival guessing peoples' weight. That way he can't harm anything other than people's feelings. read more

I am so grateful for the team at AGP. I encountered a scary and stressful situation when my gear shifter locked up due to leaky battery acid dripping onto the gear shifter cables. I was very stressed and honestly a bit scared of this situation because my husband was out of town and my two young daughters were needing to be picked up from daycare not long after this happened. Steve and the AGP team came up with a temporary solution so that I could drive the car safely to get the girls and then bring it back later for a full repair once my husband returned home. They made me feel supported, safe, and heard. I have two VWs. I have a 2003 GTI and a 2012 Golf TDI. I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Daniel has dealt with any and everything I threw at him. His service has always been super fast (most times in the same day!) and literally 1/2 the price usually of the dealer. If you own an Audi, WV or Porsche this is The Place to go with any automotive issues. I own a Q7 and a Passat. Both serviced and mainteined by the team at AGP. From brake pads, oil changes to complex engine and transmission work. Even when the vehicle is under warranty, I'd rather have it diagnosed by Daniel and his team, than take it to the local dealership, since every time my car was serviced there, something else immidiately came up after I drove off of the lot. I drive an Audi, and I typically try to take care of mechanical problems myself when I can, but that's not always the case, and most places charge an arm and a leg to even look at a German car. This is where this place is different. I've been twice, and I've walked away with not only my car fixed and running perfectly, but for the most reasonable prices I've ever encountered at any mechanic. Daniel, the owner, is an extremely nice guy, and is beyond knowledgeable of all vw's and audis. After my brake light came on in my 2011 VW Touareg i started to look for alternative to VW genuine service as they are incredible expensive and hard to deal with. I found All German Performance shop on internet and decided to give it a try. It was an excellent decision. The owner who worked on my car happens to be VW certified mechanic. For a fraction of the price of VW service I had my brakes taken care of with oil change and overall inspection. It was fast, pleasant, and cheep. Location of the place is also very convenient. Great shop! Honest Fair and Fast. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Daniel saved us! My wife and I had driven down from Buffalo, New York for our wedding, and blew the water pump in our Touareg on the drive. Being so far away from home, we barely made it into Asheville and called the VW dealership for help. They not only were rude about not having any immediate availability, but refused to give us any recommendations for a shop nearby that could help. As we were getting gas and googling shops in the area trying to figure out where we could go for the repairs I noticed the VW in front of us and asked if they had a recommendation for a shop in the area. I was told that he had never needed repairs, but he had the number of a guy that all his friends swear by. This sounded like a good start so I took the number, called Daniel, and drove to the shop. He immediately confirmed the leaking water pump, had one delivered that day, and told us it would be repaired by the next morning. In fact he had it fixed that night! Being stranded so far away from home we were anticipating the worst case scenario, and having heard of horror stories on the road, were ready to cringe when we were handed our bill. When we looked at the charges we immediately knew that we were dealing with an honest fair shop. Having been quoted almost twice as much by the dealer before being told that they couldn't do the work for two to three weeks, we couldn't be happier that we found All German Performance. Not only were they professional, fair, and fast, but Daniel was so pleasant and calming through the whole ordeal that he was able to ease my bride's panic on her wedding weekend and allowed us to focus on the wonderful reason we were there in the first place. On the surface the presentation and service of agp are very professional and I was eager to take my Audi A4 into them as very few shops have good knowledge about the specifics of my vehicle. I took it in for a diagnostic and by the end of the day did have an answer to what my issue was and Daniel, the manager, told me he would have a quote for me tomorrow. This is where the fun stops. On the way home I noticed my sunglasses were missing from my center console. These are expensive sunglasses I'm sure they were in there. Regardless I searched my entire house up and down, my car all over, 3 times and there aren't a lot hiding places in the B7 A4. I left a voicemail as they were closed explaining my issue and frustration. I stated in the message that I would not be moving forward with a repair with them for this reason. I got a call back a few minutes later from another guy who's name I didn't catch. He said he'd make it right as he didn't want to lose a 1000 repair and he'd have Daniel contact me. Daniel contacts me refuting the whole thing. Offers for me to come view his camera footage. Why should I the customer do the legwork? It really bothered me the most that he refuted any possibility an employee would steal. I've been a manager for years and anyone can steal from your business or customers. He also never once apologized, withdrew his employees offer to make it right and was pretty defensive versus empathetic. I would have even taken a back handed "I'm sorry you feel that way". Stay away from agp. Poor and ignorant management despite an appealing veneer. read more
