So we just moved from my old place in San Diego and got a house that we love but it came with some unwanted occupants! A friend of mine that is out in La Mesa had these guys come out to do some pest control on bees and loved them. I was directed to All cities pest control by my landlord. Since they do the out side of the property already. So, trying to schedule a appointment with Scott is ridiculous. The office is hesitant to give a day or time frame. I have had to appointments rescheduled on the same day. First one I called them after he didn't show up. They said he has a bad back. So he came the next day. That appointment was below average at best. Truck was mess, full of trash and not professional at all. Scott came to the door, no uniform, no mask. Asked him a few questions about why I have so many ants. He had zero answers. Only positive thing was he was in and out in 10 minutes..... ants came back. Second appointment, again office was terrible with scheduling. I Called the day before to confirm. They let me know he was fitting me in. So not sure what time he would arrive. I replied how so if I scheduled this a week ago. They said ok he will show up before noon. Again unprofessional!! So day of appointment Scott calls to let me know he is out of bait. Needs to reschedule for the following day. I'll update how tomorrow goes. In short the whole business needs a class in customer service. I would NOT use them, if I had the option. We were very pleased with All cities bee control services this past week. We had several beehives under the floor of our shed that were too difficult to save . We were referred to Gerhard from a professional beekeeper who only refer's to them. Gerhard the owner came right out and shut one hive down. Since we didn't know another two hives existed, he came back there days later , on a holiday even and located two more hives to remove. I used their bee extermination service. The bees came back to the exact same location, so I called back to inquire. The rep I spoke with said they only warranty their work for 30 days. This is unfortunate because I paid $250 for the service and the bee came back after 45 days! I would not recommend this company. Their quality of work obviously isn't good if they can only guarantee it for 30 days. I ended up buying some Raid and duck taping the holes where the bees we're hiding. This did the trick! We found All City Pest Control though Angie's List. Gave them a call first thing in the morning at 8AM. The phone was answered right away and we scheduled an appointment for the same day. We were unsure about a possible mouse wandering in our house. Two hours later, We had Scott come by for an inspection. He was very patient and understanding. After listening to all our concerns and descriptions, he took a walk around the problems areas for inspection. He then gave us all the possible options we had along with his suggestions. I had a pretty large Bee hive in a pepper tree. I called All Cities Pest Control and within an hour or so their technician arrived and sprayed the hive. Due to the size of the hive their were some that returned to a nearby Tree a day later. They came out again within an hour and took care of it. They were so knowledgeable and courteous. I called All Cities Pest Control for a wasp nest in ground this morning. Within an hour, the technician was at my house taking care of the problem. The technician was super professional and very knowledgeable. He stated we had a small to medium size nest of yellow jackets and to stay away from the area for a few days. He warned that yellow jackets are very aggressive. After two days, if I see no more yellow jackets to cover the hole with dirt (or concrete would be best). If I still see yellow jackets to call back and he would come back free of charge. BEE-AUTIFUL SERVICE We have subscribed to All Cities' regular ant service (in Tierrasanta) and have never had a problem with insects in the house. But when bee scouts arrived in our chimney, Ben at All Cities was outstanding. He responded quickly, explained how he would remedy the problem, and promptly did so. (This was a second visit by our bee friends to the chimney and we know the odds are higher that they will return.) A few months ago, I woke up in the middle of the night to bed bugs. It was horrible and after researching all the home remedies and advice online I realized I had to find an exterminator. I called about ten companies in the San Diego area and ended up going with All Cities Pest Control. I was quoted a bunch of different prices, the highest being $1400 for a heat treatment, which was nice and all for someone that could afford it. We had an exterminator come out from a different company and he told us the wrong thing, making it EVEN HARDER to get rid of them! All Cities came out the next day and first of all did a way better inspection. They also found the piece of furniture that came with bed bugs, Chris knew right away so we were able to toss it. The other thing I loved about All Cities is that they were there when I called, unlike other companies. They aren't open on the weekends, but returned all of my calls and were extremely helpful and friendly. It took a while to get rid of the bugs, longer than most cases, but there are two reasons for that neither having to do with All Cities Pest Control. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. We had them come out for a bee problem and they said they would fully remove the bees and any hive that was created. On the first visit they removed the bees and said there wasn't a hive so the bees wouldn't return. Guess what, 2 days later more bees. Once again they said there wasn't a hive and just removed the bees. So we went on vacation and came back to even more bees and guess what, we had a hive....neatly tucked into our attic. They claimed no responsibility for the hive being created. I'm not sure how that is. Either it was there day one and they didn't remove it or it was created when they didn't properly remove the bees. Their solution was they could remove our roof tiles (for a cost of course) and remove the hive but that we would have to pay someone to put it all back together. Or we could ignore it and have the bees continuously come back year after year due to the smell the hive. Oh yeah, I get to smell the lovely hive every day it is warm as it is tucked right above my bedroom closet. Lovely!!!! We have 3 young kids so having a continuous bee problem is a bad thing. We called 3 other firms to come out and assess what happened and each one said everything these folks did was wrong right out of the gate and that we basically got swindled. I called All Cities about 1.5 years ago after moving to the hills off of Hiway 67 and we kept getting ants everywhere in the house and outside. Why didn't we find these guys sooner??? We had bees moving into the eaves and our attic. The first outfit we contacted turned out to be an unlicensed "bee rescue" company, who smoked some out and used a bunch of putty on the holes - basically didn't do much. We got a reference for All Cities and Chris came out. What a difference! He showed up on time, properly cleaned out the bees and closed up all the access points properly and scheduled repeat visits (under warranty) until the problem was solved (quickly!). At the same time, we noticed noises in the attic and suspected mice/rats. The traps we put up didn't catch anything, so when Chris was here, we asked about mice/rats. He seemed knowledgeable, so we signed up. He put proper traps for rats in the attic, found the access points (in the attic and all around the foundation) and completely secured them, and our rat problem is no gone. Ok, so Chris, what about the ants that we are fighting constantly? We now have him treating around the house for ants and they are nearly gone (at least in or near the house). Bees, rats, and ants - all cleaned up quickly. Done professionally and efficiently at a good price. Chris even puts on booties over his shoes when in the house and is careful not to damage or even leave dirt/smudges. Wow - a contractor who show up on time, is concerned about our property, does excellent work, and is just a nice guy!
