When I called the office, they told me the results had been ready since the previous day, but the technician never followed up. They emailed the report, which showed elevated mold levels in several rooms. I reached out to the technician, who apologized and said he had been busy. We scheduled a time for him to return the following Monday to inspect the affected areas and provide a remediation quote. He didn't show up. When I called, he said he had forgotten to notify the office about our appointment, so he wasn't reminded. We rescheduled for the next day, and he did come, identified the mold source, and sent a quote promptly. The quote, however, lacked detail, listed two different total prices, and didn't clearly explain the scope of work. After discussing it, he agreed to revise the pricing and add the missing details. The updated quote arrived, but nothing had been corrected. When I contacted him again, he said they had accidentally sent the old version and would revise it, but they were "swamped." I never heard back. I then contacted All Dry Services of South Shore & Cape Cod. They inspected the property, provided an extremely detailed quote, and completed the remediation today. Their team was professional, thorough, and personable. The work was done cleanly, and the area was left properly sealed with negative air pressure. I feel confident the mold issue has been resolved. I have air-quality testing scheduled for tomorrow, and if anything shows up, they will return--but based on the quality of their work, I doubt that will be necessary.

This guy came to my house doing measurements in May, and then never followed up and never provided any rebuild estimate (even after I spoke with him twice on the phone asking him to make progress). It's just unbelievable to see there are companies like this that do not want to do business. After wasting my time with AirCare, I proceeded with another company who followed up with me very quickly. My home insurance company is also deeply disappointed with AirCare and said they will never work with AirCare again in the future.

It's interesting to see positive reviews commenting on Dan's pricing and work quality. After…read moreterminating my most recent project with Dan, I hired other contractors to finish the job. This made me realize that excellent workmanship can easily be found for more reasonable pricing. The starting point for my project was an already gutted space consisting of a former walk-in closet and a large bathroom. The goal was to make the bathroom smaller so the closet area could function as an extra bedroom. For privacy reasons, the new bedroom needed its own entrance and bathroom access, while the master bedroom required a separate bathroom entrance. After an initial consultation, Dan sent Noel to start framing the very next day. Dan did not provide even a simple sketch of the new layout and, as far as I know, did not take measurements. As a result, a framing error was made and I was charged both for the installation and the correction ($1,100/day). After a second faulty doorway was installed in the bathroom--despite my purchasing a tub Dan had recommended and sending him the specifications--I terminated the project. Correcting this error later took my husband three full days. To complete the project, we hired other professionals. For example, we hired a plumber who installed all bathroom fixtures for $2,800 (two plumbers, two days). Based on their estimate of the prior work done by Dan's plumber, the total plumbing cost would have been approximately $3,600. Dan's plumbing estimate was $7,000. We also had to pay $850 to repair and bleed the baseboard heating system after the work done by Dan's plumber. Dan's carpentry estimate also raised concerns: 15 days at $1,100 per day. When I requested a list of full carpentry days, dates when no work was performed were included, such as picking up a check or a quick consultation. If you are working with Dan, I would strongly recommend that you keep a daily log of actual work performed and ask whether short consultation visits are billed. Another frustration was Dan's repeated attempts to convince me that I needed work I had never asked for. Dan and Noel stopped by for a consultation about closets and proposed installing a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. This was surprising, given that I had previously paid them to remove the existing walk-in closet because I disliked it. I reminded them of this and indicated that I planned to purchase IKEA storage instead. Despite repeatedly expressing no interest in closet work, Dan continued suggesting that Noel come build closets. There was no proposal, no agreed scope of work, and no pricing, yet the texts kept coming ("Noel is free tomorrow and can start the closets.").

Most people calling are in the early stages and looking for guidance, not to be brushed off. We used Green Energy Mechanical to change our house from oil heat to electric heat pumps. We…read morealready had forced air, but they replaced all of the ducts on the first floor and extended them to the third floor. The owner Jonathan was the first person who came to our house. He and his colleague carefully took measurements and temperature readings throughout the house and then showed us their proposal. The whole consultation took a couple hours and was at no cost to us. Green Energy was the fifth and final quote that we got from HVAC companies and it was the one we chose to go with. They seemed to be up to date on modern technologies and talked about going to conferences and learning about new techniques. The plan for the HVAC renovation was elaborate and EXPENSIVE. I don't necessarily think that it was too expensive for what we got. In fact, I genuinely think we got a deal! They gave us less expensive options but we chose to go with the most expensive one. That was our choice. Three guys came to our house 4-5 days a week for about 2-3 weeks. The main guy was named Endrit who was clearly an experienced professional. We loved the ethnic and racial diversity of the crews. They were all sooooo nice and friendly. I felt very comfortable with them. They were also very clean, always putting down tarps on the floor. The only issue was with the electricity. They failed to identify that we didn't have enough electricity coming into the house from the street to support two heat pumps. They were kind of embarrassed but we understand that Jonathan isn't an electrician and didn't know. So, upgrading our electrical box was an unexpected expense that we HAD to do midway through this job. They set it up so that we could have AC in the summer, but we had to upgrade our electrical before using the heat. Communicating with the company went pretty smoothly. We could email office people or text managers and installers. They were pretty responsive. In fact, we came away with the thought that Green Energy is our favorite major contractor that we've ever worked with! I know that we were annoying at times but they never ever let on that they were bothered. They patiently answered our questions again and again! Green Energy did a final check of the HVAC system in the summer (with AC) and in the fall (with heat) to make sure that everything worked properly. They submitted our rebates for us to the state and it was SOOO nice to get a little money back. In the long term, we are eager to continue working with Green Energy. As part of this HVAC renovation, we have a warranty with them. We need to have them come and check on things every year which gives me peace of mind that the people who know our system best will be the folks maintaining it.
