I guess this place is hit and miss because I'm seeing great reviews and then I'm seeing one review that is identical to my experience. I brought my Acura in almost a year ago for a new transmission the day I got it back I was driving home with my 10 month old son in the back down stockdale highway and all of a sudden I through me into stop thank god I was near a turn off. Pulled into the vons shopping center and was stuck. I lost reverse and when it would finally go into drive it wouldn't go very far. Had to bring it in the next morning and my car stayed for ANOTHER 2 weeks and when I got it back that time I had a light on that wasn't on before...my car shakes like fucking crazy . Right away I took it to another shop to have the motor mounts looked at to see if that's the reason why my car was shaking. And it wasn't, the motor mounts were good. I called back and told them the problem and they told me to go ahead and bring it back but I didn't even want to deal with them again. Brought it to another shop and they told me the transmission mount was screwed. read more

We were driving from Disneyland back to the Bay Area in our 07 Chevy Suburban. When we got to Lebec, my transmission started having issues (could not shift out of 3rd gear). I took it to a nearby mechanic. I needed a new transmission, he quoted me $3,000 for a rebuilt 4L60E transmission (common GMC transmission). We spent the night in Lebec, and I called around the next morning. I got a hold of Dan Sr. at All Automatic Transmissions and he quoted me for $1,750. He recommend I try to drive it 40 miles to his shop in Bakersfield. I agreed. I managed to get about 10 miles away from the shop when the transmission would not shift into 1st gear anymore. Dan sent a complimentary tow to pick us up. All Automatic Transmission replaced my transmission in 3 hours with a rebuilt one. They specialize in transmission and service county and sheriff vehicles. Fortunately, most of those vehicles are GM cars that use the same transmission. I was lucky to find these guys. The car was serviced at 11:00 am, they dropped us off at the mall, we had lunch, watched a movie, and they picked us back up when the car was ready. We were back on the road by 3:00 pm. Wow what service. Transmission went out on the way back from Fresno. Had the car towed to another shop which quoted me $3500. All automatic gave me a worst case price of $2400. I couldn't believe there was over $1000 difference. They towed my car from the other shop for free. Called to let me know that they were out of stock for one part but had it overnighted at no additional charge to me. Finally they offered to deliver the car to my office. I only wish all mechanic shops could operate like this one. If you need transmission work, I wouldn't go any where else. read more

I normally go to the dealer for all of my automotive repairs because I like having all of my repair history in one place. I have also had bad experiences with non-dealers who seem to blame "the other guy" when their repairs don't go as planned. However, when the transmission blew on my 2005 Buick LaCrosse and the dealer quoted me $3100 and a completion date of one week, I decided to try All Automatic Transmission at the suggestion of my partner. They quoted me $1,000 less, a completion date of next day, and they would pick up my car from the dealer for free. My car now drives better than when it was brand new. The employees and owner of All Automatic Transmission saved my bacon last week. Picture this, driving from San Jose to San Diego two days after Christmas. Just before I start going up the grapevine in the middle of nowhere, my transmission blows up, I lose power and it starts smoking. Somehow I get off at an exit, but I am 250 miles from home and I don't know who to call.. AAA gives me a few names, but it is the holiday season and some are closed, some are just glorified gas stations. I need a transmission shop that is reputable and knows their stuff. I find Danny's shop and as soon as I start talking to them it is apparent they know their stuff. After a 30 mile tow to their shop I meet them and they tell me worst case I need to rebuild my transmission, but they can do it in a day and a half. They even had their guys work late and come in early to get the car ready for me ASAP. I get a ride to the Holiday Bowl with a buddy from Fresno where my Bears get trounced, but my car with rebuilt transmission is ready to roll. Thank you All Automatic Transmission. We took our van here because the transmission was skipping. They gave my husband a ride to work from the shop and picked him up when it was done. They kept the van all day, told us that the transmission was going bad, and didn't charge us a dime. The guy told me they could've put a new axle in for $300-400, and that might've fixed it for a week, but then we'd be back to square one. I really appreciated the fact that he didn't try to take advantage of us. Needing a new transmission isn't good news, but these guys are great. read more

My RV broke down upon entering the Bakersfield area. I was told of this business when I learned that my transmission needed to be replaced. I am a single retired woman traveling the USA. Great transmission place! No charge for diagnosing problem. Half the cost of dealerships and so much faster. My Jeep Grand Cherokee had 154,000 miles and stopped shifting into low when stopped. Took it into shop and they diagnosed problem while I waited. Not to my surprise it needed full rebuild. My car was ready for pick up in 24 hours! I was quoted $1,750 if it needed full rebuild. When I picked it up it was $1,750 including all parts and taxes. That comes with two year warranty. They stayed in touch with me supplying pictures at different stages of repairs. Never felt like they were trying to deceive me at any time. I will be going there for transmission service in the future. Talk to Joel or Danny, they will treat you right. read more

Our older car was doing some weird downshifting things, and they suggested it might be bad engine mounts. They called me later to say that the mounts were doing okay and the fluid didn't look too bad either. They'd driven the car but weren't able to replicate my problem. I asked them change the filter and fluid anyway. When I came in to pick it up, the owner apologized and encouraged me to bring it back if the problem comes up again. I drove off and immediately noticed that the transmission was shifting like a new car. Amazing! This shop's management and mechanics are skilled and honest. I don't think they'd want me to tell you what I paid, but I can say that I was astounded and am including that information in the story I'm telling everybody else about this shop. You could go to a different shop and do much, much, (much) worse. read more

After calling around and getting quotes for my specific issue, (knowing my transmission needed to be rebuilt/replaced) this was the only place that gave me an exact price, $1950, and when the work was completed, that's exactly what I payed. The other shops I called gave me a similar price range and warranty. My vehicle is a 1993 Ford E-350 with a modified chassis (Type 3 ambulance(retired)) and an E4OD transmission. It's a heavy vehicle (10,500 lbs) which they were were equipped to service. Once work began on it, it was finished in about 3 days as promised. The staff (Joel in particular) was friendly and knowledgeable. My rig has some electrical issues which Joel offered to have their electrician troubleshoot at NO CHARGE! I haven't taken them up on that offer yet because I needed my rig back in service for my business right away. Bottom line; All Automatic is the BEST!!! read more

**honest, kind, family-run** My 17 year old mini van died on the grapevine and we were stranded in Bakers Field with my 4 & 6 year olds. All Auto was referred to us by another AAA shop. Really, the best experience I could have asked for (I mean, if you had to be stranded and stuck with a hard decision). We couldn't decide if we were going to repair or donate our vehicle. Joel at the shop was just so helpful and patient through this process. He really helped me think out the pros and cons and never did he once push the repair. In fact, he said that if we wanted to donate the car, we could store it there for free until it got picked up---all because it was going to a good cause! (other shops were asking for $50 a day storage fee). At the end, we did decide to do the repair and it cost less than it would have if we repaired in the bay area where we live. While we were there for 3 hours, all the staff were so kind and professional to all their customers. Can't recommend this place enough! Honestly there were nothing wrong with the transmission, But if you were claiming as you are transmission experts, You couldn't even take a moment and tell me that i needed transmission and engine mounta? Seriously? I had nothing against you guys, But you treated me in a very insulting way, And the owner not trying to help me what was wrong, a mount for god sake you need to train your employees. The tranny i bought is brand new "Remanufactured to the manufacturer highest standards and highest quality parts, Why you do all thia cause i didn't buy it from you and you made $2,000? I am actually giving a rating of five stars to this business not just for what they did but for what they didn't do. All Automatic did no billable repairs to my vehicle yet the service was impeccable. I called them about my RV troubles on the phone and was not rushed or brushed off. They spoke to me like my problem and I were important to them not just my business. I figured they must not be busy but when I got there they were very busy so the fact that they treated with such patience says a lot for what they base their business standards on. I sat in the waiting room for a few hours not waiting on them as they were done with their free diagnosis with pictures and kindness within minutes. I was actually waiting on my insurance company to tow my 40 ft rv out of their yard. It took up most of their yard all day and night. They also gave me a ride home. How do you thank a business for those kinds of things as they are priceless? Each man working there treated me with respect. No one gawked at me, treated me like an ignorant woman or spoke down to me. No one tried to high pressure sell me any unneeded service. They just spoke to me of the facts. These guys are great! We broke down just outside Bakersfield, and quickly realized it was the transmission. We took our car to All Automatic Transmission, and they immediately came out to check out our car. They were friendly and sympathetic to our family of five being stranded after a vacation and being hours from home. They followed us to the nearest hotel so we could unload some of our belongings, then took our van back to the shop to begin work on it that night. It was after their 5pm closing time! The following morning they told us they'd get it done by the end of the day, and offered to give us a ride to wherever we needed to go. So, they picked us back up from the hotel and took us to the shop to put our belongings back into the van. Todd ended up lending us his truck for the day!!! We have 3 kids, and he didn't even hesitate to offer us his truck. They had it done by 4:30 that day, and we were back on the road headed home. Their price was very reasonable and their customer service was amazing! I would recommend this business to all my friends and family if they were near. On our drive home from Washington to Arizona with both our young kids we notice our truck was having serious issues. We called all automatic transmission, the office receptionist gave us easy to follow directions and they got us in right away! While they were figuring out exactly what was causing the issue they turned cartoons on for our 3yr old and 7month old, they offered us water and a ride to get lunch, when we informed them money is tight until we know what everything will cost they went out and bought us lunch, even after insisting we would be fine. The staff was friendly and courteous and understand to our situation! They took their time to find out what was wrong with our truck, not just rush to a diagnosis. They were absolutely great! I am a pretty good handy man when it comes to repairing my vehicles but my car was giving me some sort of transmission/shifting problems. In all honesty I do not like to take my vehicles to the mechanic. I don't trust most mechanics because I felt like I was cheated in the past. I brought the vehicle to All Auto Transmission to get it checked out and I love that they checked out my vehicle at no charge. The guys here treat you with respect and are very professional. I left my vehicle there and it turns out that my vehicle has an electrical issue. There was nothing wrong with my transmission but the fact that these guys are honest and did not attempt to nickel and dime me makes me want to come back to this transmission repair shop if I ever have issues in the future. They even gave me the diagnostics with the recommendations from the manufacturer. In aug. 2016 I took my 1977 Chevy truck in to fix a leak on my transfer case. Within two weeks I had to have it back to redo the work because it leaked again. A few months pass and again I notice a leak as well as a leak on my transmission pan I was going to pay to have redone while the t case was getting redone but they pointed at other leaks on my engine and said the trans. was fine and the t case had plenty fluid so they did nothing and got me out of there. I fixed my engine leaks to give them no excuses to get out of warranty work and a week ago I brought it in to get fixed and as soon as I got home I had a huge puddle of trans fluid on the ground after they resealed the t case and put a new gasket on the trans pan. I brought it in the 5th time on June 20 2017 and when I went to get it I told them I hope it's done right because I'm tired of having to come back and they responded we don't want you back here. The manager of the store stormed inside cut a check for the cost of the initial work and said here we don't want you back. I said I don't want a check, I paid in cash and what I'd really appreciate is getting the work done right and his response is " you've got to be f**king kidding me". These people wasted my time, kicked me out the door, and my trans pan still leaks so I will have to go to another shop to get it done right because I'm not welcome back after I attempted to hold what was supposedly the most reputable shop in town to their word. These people are FRAUDS who don't take responsibility for their work and I'm ashamed that my tax paying dollars goes to this shop to repair sheriff cars for the city. read more
