We were on our way to Albuquerque from San Jose when we got off to get gas. We noticed the transmission was slipping. Before we knew it we realized we needed to replace the transmission. We went to three shops and called another two before finding All Automatic Transmission. We talked with them telling them what was going on. We walked in at 3:00 pm. They pulled the car into one of their 22 bays, dropped the transmission pan and showed us all the metal and very dark fluid. Yes, we were sad but relieved we did not break down in the middle of the desert with no cell service. I asked if they had the transmission in stock and we walked into the shop with Garrett and sure enough they had a rebuilt one on their shelf. We also needed a torque converter, but Danny, the owner was able to get one. We were in shock that we were driving out at 6:00 pm. Yes, it only took 3 hours from the time we arrived to the time we left. The next day, just as we arrived in Albuquerque, we received a call. It was Joel, asking if we arrived safely. Wow! I just called them to see whether they could help me, and shared as best I could recite what the dealer told me. I really appreciate their honesty - they told me that to replace a tranny in my particular car would be too expensive. He suggested contacting Quality Transmission as to whether they might have a used part to save me money. They were so helpful and honest, much different than when I go to the dealer. I usually get quoted something small, and then get called back to say something is thousands and thousands of dollars. After struggling with a road trip that involved a shaking car and at most 40-50 mph, I managed to get the vehicle, a Honda Odyssey, into All Automatic Transmission. I thought I knew what was wrong and they listened. Next day they completed their diagnosis which was nothing I had considered. They advised me of the necessary repairs and explained what they had discovered and what had been checked. They provided a quote and I approved. Frankly it was far less than I had imagined. They provided a 2 day timeline which required obtaining the parts. Ahead of schedule by one day the car was repaired and tested by them. All was well with the Honda and I happily picked it up early in the morning. Their process from intake to output of a fully repaired vehicle was exemplary. My 2018 Honda Ridgeline was displaying a transmission error. Naturally, I took the vehicle to Honda for diagnosis, figuring that they would know their own product. After a trip to Barber Honda in Bakersfield, the diagnosis was "we have this error code and Googled the issue, need a new transmission, $8,000" Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled with this vague and superficial diagnosis. So I looked up a local transmission shop, and found All Automatic. They had really great reviews on Google, so I gave them a call and arranged to bring the car in for their diagnosis. Within 30 minutes Garret and his team, had a notion of what was wrong, torque convertor. Garret reckoned it would be around $1,600 to repair. Worst case, if the transmission had been damaged by bits of torque convertor, then $3,600 and the upper limit. I was relieved, since $3,600 was much better than the $8,000 Honda had "quoted". Garret and Joel had the vehicle for two weeks and called me with updates frequently to let me know what the situation was. On the day I went to pick it up, I paid only $1,600. Only the torque convertor and a few other parts needed replacing. Excellent service, and excellent price. Their thoroughness and professionalism is unparalleled. The next day after getting my vehicle back, I drove it to Washington state without an ounce of trouble. Money well spent. read more

Honesty, Great Customer Service & Great Expertise. Drove from LA to Bakersfield for nephews high school graduation. The transmission wouldn't get out of 2nd gear after arriving. Being so far from home & dealing with the problem was extremely nerve wrecking. I searched online for transmission shops & All Automatic Transmission was one of many in the area. I took my vehicle into the Mosasco location. I was greeted by Larry. He took some information & did a diagnostic on my vehicle. He let me know what the problem could be. I asked him for a worse case scenario of having the transmission rebuilt. He quoted me what I consider a great price of $2,950.00. I know for some people that might not be a great price. But I've dealt with aamco about 6 years ago & their price was almost twice that, I was expecting to pay way more due to inflation. I left my vehicle at the shop in the morning with the expectation of not getting it back for at least a week. Later that day I get a call from Larry letting me know my vehicle was ready. With the cost only being $150.00. I was beyond ecstatic. They found the problem right away & resolved same day. Many other shops would've claimed the problem was more extensive & easily have charged me over $500.00. If there was a zero that is what I would give this place. After having my vehicle over a month the best discount they could give was $150. The reason they had it over a month, the wrong transmission was ordered. Not only was a pathetic discount given but when we picked up the car the gentleman who gave us are car had no gloves on or mask. On top of everything else are van now has a musty smell and is horribly dirty inside from having the windows left open. We could tell this by the line on the driver side window. These guys are terrific! I reached out here on Yelp to get a rough idea what it would cost to rebuild the transmission on my 1999 Ranger. Joel quoted me $2,250 if they had to do a full rebuild, but explained that it might not need a full rebuild, and it could be much less. The transmission did need a full rebuild (as expected, the truck is 20 years old with 208,000 miles!) and when I picked it up the bill was exactly, to the penny, the $2,250 I was quoted. Even after making the mistake of saying ok because they scared me by telling me I would hurt my vehicle more if I didn't take care of it right away. My vehicle still doesn't run the way it should. Work was done 04/20/2017 I wanted to wait a bit before I posted a review, because I wanted to make sure that my car was running the way it's suppose to. I have a 2006 Honda Accord that I have owned for a little over 10 years. I was the second owner, and I bought it at the Honda Dealer with 14k miles on it. As you can see, I put 200K miles on it =) why have a car if you don't drive it right? lol either way, I have never had to do anything major to my car. I want to say the most I have ever spent was to fix the power steering a couple years back. WELL my baby finally gave out and blew the transmission. I called All Automatic Transmission and they sent out a tow for my car at no charge. They took their time to diagnose to make sure exactly what was wrong with it, which to me I really did appreciate that. They let me know that it would need a rebuilt. It was not cheap, but I wanted to make sure it was done right and that the work was guaranteed! I paid $2450.00 but I also had them replace mounts and etc which they didn't charge me labor for. My car is running like a champ even with her 214k miles and all. I have taken it to Orange County and Pismo since. I was happy with the service and quality I received. They are honest hard working people that treat you with respect no matter if you are male or female. If you are having a transmission problem, I suggest you pay them a visit. Their work is guarantee and their warranty beats many if not all other shops out here in Bakersfield. I want to say its 2 year warranty on it. These folks are simply amazing! For the last two months I've been having trouble with my 2004 Volvo S 80. Out of the blue it's stopped wanting to turn over when I tried to start it. The engine sounded normal when I turned the key, but it just wouldn't catch. Called the tow company, and they wanted to try jumping it before towing. We rolled it down the driveway to get it a bit closer to the tow truck, and lo and behold, it started right up with the jump. Got my battery tested, and it was fine. It worked great for three weeks. Then, while I was on a business trip in San Diego, same thing. This time though, I was in an underground garage, which the tow truck couldn't get to. So, a bunch of people helped push my car to the tow truck. Just before they loaded the car I thought I'll try it one more time, and sure enough it started right up. Drove straight home, and again it started right up the next day. A few days later, I couldn't get it started. But, then a lightbulb went off! The two things that had happened both times were, the car had been moved. So I went to the rear bumper and rocked the car. Sure enough, it started right up! I was waiting for some escrows to close, to get the money to get it properly looked at. So, for the next three weeks, I would lock the car running when I had to do errands or show property, and only turn it off at home. But every time, it didn't start, rocking it solved the problem. Fast forward to last week. Another business trip down to San Diego. Going up the Grapevine with my cruise control set to 65 I suddenly lost power. The cruise control dropped to 50, and when I tried to press the gas pedal the speed would decrease even further. Limped over to Frazier Park to turn around, and headed back to Bakersfield. Next morning I went to my favorite garage Chuck's Automotive on Oak and Rosedale. Super honest and great guys! They pulled the codes for me and told me I had a faulty sensor that wasn't reading how fast the driveshaft was turning, which in turn was affecting the shifting, and it was definitely a transmission issue. All Automatic Transmissions had done a fantastic job in 2010 rebuilding the transmission in my Ford Focus, so I headed over there. I told them my story of woe, and they set about checking it out. Even drove me home so I didn't have to wait. Towards the end of the day, after a lot of time locating the replacement sensor, they were able to replace the bad sensor. However, to everyone's surprise, that didn't fix the problem. So, I left it overnight with them, and they started fresh the next day. They determined it was some type of electrical problem, and after over six hours, of trial and error, they found a faulty electrical connector. Trying to find the part though, proved challenging. But, they kept at it, doing more research and calling various junkyards and parts places until they found it. Amazingly, it turned out to be a $35 part! They could have charged me a huge amount of money, given all the time they spent trying to diagnose the problem. They also could have sold me the new sensor. But they did neither! The replacement sensor went back to the parts place, and they only charged me $180!! That kind of integrity and honesty, is unfortunately, rare in the auto repair industry. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I no longer have to wonder if my car is going to start today! Also, other systems that had not been working, which I frankly didn't notice until now, are going strong. Thank you so much for your diligence and patience in resolving this issue for me. A trusted independent mechanic referred me to AAT. They were able to get me in quickly, and do a test drive with live data diagnostics. I had a LOT of miles (200K) on my original transmission, and it was clear I needed a rebuild. Joel and his crew gave me great service... a reasonable turnaround (2.5 days total)... and a great value. Joel was very easy to work with, and he was very good with communication and sending me photos of specific issues. This shop is big and busy... for good reason I think. On my way to Berkeley to drop off son to College, car heats up going up the grapevine - don't have a van full of dorm junk and going up 75 mph with a/c on and during the hottest time of the year - that would help - my transmission fluid is burnt and spewing out all over my engine. Fortunately, about 25 miles south of bakersfield - found this place on yelp and they spoke to me on phone about my issues. Finally got it to his place (letting the car cool down) - he thought it a matter of time before new tranny required; however, I told him needed to get to Berkeley asap. So they explained options, really helped as far as educating me - drain and fill versus a flush - I opted to just have fluid topped off. They gave really good advice - suggested I take 99 instead of the 5. The crew probably spent 30 minutes of time and didn't charge me a dime. Awesome crew - probably never be in Bakersfield again but wanted to give props to this place - save your time knowing you can go here and not call a bunch of places looking for prices / honesty - this is the place with respect to transmission - no hard sells and went above and beyond in terms of customer service. Now about Bakersfield....just glad I was passing through and my van made it all the way to Berkeley and back to San Diego. read more

You will leave with an additional problem you car did not have to begin with and they will take ZERO responsibility! I brought my car in to get worked on, paid $3,000 cash and let me tell you what a nightmare i have been through with this business! Not only was my car at "All Automatic" for 7 MONTHS, they caused an additional problem my car DID NOT HAVE, and they lied to me and made me deal with a problem THEY CAUSED and did NOTHING ABOUT. My car is now USELESS. My $60k car that was paid off is now worth $0 thanks to All Automatic Transmission. They say they've been in business for over 50 years, but could not figure out what problem my car had, nor figure out what problem they caused, nor how to fix that problem. Imagine being promised your car will be back to normal in two weeks, BUT having to deal with unprofessional employees, and a business owner who is RUDE, INCONSIDERATE, and RACIST. Having a car in and out of a shop for 7 months is unacceptable! Specially when they don't communicate with you and have you on the edge in hopes your car will be okay only to realize it is now a complete loss and don't want to take any responsibility for. We are not from the Bakersfield area, and had car trouble while on vacation. I had been on the phone for half an hour, trying to find a repair shop that was even willing to look at our car on a Friday, with no luck. Our tow truck driver recommended All Automatic Transmission, because it looked like that might be part of the problem; they were willing to look at our car as soon as we arrived. It turned out that we did have a transmission leak and a broken muffler pipe; instead of trying to make money with tourists like lots of businesses would in such a situation, they told us to keep refilling the transmission fluid and try to make it home so we could have it taken apart and fixed there for warranty reasons. Then they called a nearby muffler shop they knew to be friendly and reliable, and the owner even drove ahead of us to get us there safely and without getting lost. When we arrived at the muffler shop, he explained our situation, and we were back on the road within an hour. And they didn't even charge us for their time. I guess this place is hit and miss because I'm seeing great reviews and then I'm seeing one review that is identical to my experience. I brought my Acura in almost a year ago for a new transmission the day I got it back I was driving home with my 10 month old son in the back down stockdale highway and all of a sudden I through me into stop thank god I was near a turn off. Pulled into the vons shopping center and was stuck. I lost reverse and when it would finally go into drive it wouldn't go very far. Had to bring it in the next morning and my car stayed for ANOTHER 2 weeks and when I got it back that time I had a light on that wasn't on before...my car shakes like fucking crazy . Right away I took it to another shop to have the motor mounts looked at to see if that's the reason why my car was shaking. And it wasn't, the motor mounts were good. I called back and told them the problem and they told me to go ahead and bring it back but I didn't even want to deal with them again. Brought it to another shop and they told me the transmission mount was screwed. read more
