I have had All American Moving move my home a few times. Each time has been great, they are on time, professional, and work extremely effectively to get the job done. I feel like they go above and beyond when it comes to taking care of my items. They even helped me move to Southern California from the Fresno Area. The ONLY thing the movers did were move my boxes from on truck to the new place. I was the one who packed MY belongings, put them in boxes MYSELF and had EVERYTHING already. Now the job was done, but they literally had two breaks for a total of 160. I asked the individual for change and he said no, I ended up giving him 200. I called in to complain that for 2 hours which they did not work in full got 200 dollars. The owner on the phone told me, why I did it say instead 150 or have them follow me to the store. At the end of the conversation the owner told me I was making stuff up calling hours later about a complaint. At that point I told him what is wrong with him, he once again turned around and told me what's wrong with me. Look all I am saying is I did a majority of the work and 200 dollars is unfair amount to pay for moving boxes from a truck to a house and that's all. read more

This is like the at least the 3rd time we moved with All American Movers. These folks just don't disappoint. They arrived in a timely manner, with a truck, ready to dive in to work. They did not stop working, in the California heat, from 8AM until 2:15PM. They continue to be professional, pleasant to work with and work hard to get the job done. They put your furniture and boxes exactly where you ask. They are very careful with furniture and can move big pieces. I see nothing damaged after all those hours of moving. They have style, exquisite precision, tremendous physical strength, a freakish level of stamina, are conversationally fluent in 4 languages (I checked), polite, respectful, CAREFUL with your things, can navigate the trickiest stairwells with breathtaking dexterity, and have a connoisseur level of appreciation for high quality water. If I could I'd put 0 stars. I scheduled with them and the day before moving they had issues with their truck to help me move. they wanted me to pay for the uhual rental. When I said no the guy on the phone started to talk very disrespectfully to me. Overall they where very unprofessional and rude. I highly recommend you guys go with someone else. DO NOT use them for moving your piano! Moved from Merced to Turlock last year and Elmer the owner assured me they've moved plenty of baby grand pianos. When the movers came to disassemble the piano in Merced, they struggled and when they moved it in to the house in Turlock they had NO idea how to get it back up right. I was afraid they were going to slam my piano in to a wall AND THEY DID!! Damaging and scraping a $25,000 absolutely gorgeous and pristine piano and not to mention a dent in my living room wall. This was right after I told the very cocky moving guy that it looked like he was way too close to a wall when tilting the piano back up. Then he had the nerve to tell me that the damage wasn't too bad! They also reinstalled the pedals incorrectly back on the piano causing the sound to be distorted. Had to pay a special piano repair person to come out for hundreds of dollars more. The cosmetic damage was going to be much more expensive to fix so our $25,000 piano is no longer in mint condition which will impact it if we were ever to resell it. To make matters worse, Elmer the owner did nothing to resolve the issue and stopped answering my phone calls and returning my messages though I had been polite, reasonable and gracious towards him during the entire interaction. I would give them zero stars for this fact alone. I value people who show integrity in all situations and do the right thing. read more

Do not use this company. My antique dresser drawers now have scratches and the inlay is chipped out. My 2000.00 bed frame headboard has a dent now because it fell down in the truck while in transit. Terrible service! I am so upset, my best furniture is ruined! read more

We hired movers from this company from a good friend's recommendation, and we were not disappointed. Rafael and Andy loaded our three bedroom house into a 28 foot trailer with such care, planning, communication, and respect for our valuables. They discussed with us throughout the process with potential loading options and risks and ran everything by us before committing the final placements. They were respectful for the cost of their time and worked efficiently for the entire 4 hours, utilizing the space in the trailer with ease. I hired Elmer to move my mother in laws stuff to a retirement home. They gave a very low but reasonable quote to move a small amount of stuff a short distance. The actual price of the move was literally $300 over the estimate ( 100% extra) . I questioned the radical overage and the drivers explained there is the truck rental charges, distance charges, drive back charges, and a couple extra fees tossed into the mix for good measures. Initially I did speak with the boss and made sure he gave me a full and complete estimate etc. I think this is a typical scheme for all small moving companies in the area, give a low estimate then explain the over charging at the end to truck rentals and labor etc. etc. We negotiated down a bit but beware, this is typically what will happen. My advice, get the estimate in WRITTING and have it include EVERYTHING. They were through and fast with all the right equipment, but they left a large piece of glass table top at the old location that we had to deal with our self!!! read more

Well my moms house sold in 1 day. We called Elmer and his Awesome Crew. Not only did they move furniture to Gilroy for moms new place. But they took furniture to a storage facility for my sister. A week later I was going to Merced to clear the remainder of junk out. I decided to call Elmer and see if he could load up the rest and take to the dump. I would not recommend this company for service! I was quoted a price by the owner, Elmer for 4 movers, hourly, which included the price of the rental truck. This was the only price I was told I was going to be charged. The guys showed up and did a good job moving us, until we got to our new home, and noticed they had damaged some of our brand new furniture, and then they tried to tell us the damage was already there. When they were done moving us, one of the movers Mike brought me the bill, and they had over charged us with the time, and tried to add additional fees that were never discussed with me, as the customer. All 4 of the movers stood in my home arguing with me, until my husband had to tell them to leave and wait outside while I called the owner. And as they exited the home, one of the movers continued to make comments like, "this is crazy." They were very unprofessional. After talking to Elmer on the phone, and trying to work something out, I walked outside to talk to the movers about the out come, and one of them was standing on my driveway rolling pot into a joint. Not to mention my kids were standing right there. They continued to argue with me, and I told them to call Elmer and discuss it with him, but that I was not paying them more than what I owed them. I have now been trying to get in contact with the owner Elmer for the last 24 hours, because my furniture company contacted me with a quote to fix and service the furniture, and he will not contact me back. I plan to take the company to small claims court if they do not make this right! read more

NIGHTMARE. Took positive reviews seriously and had the worst moving experience ever - and I've moved many times over many years all over the country. A local move - about 5 miles from loading to unloading - and, although the loading part was fine, the unloading was a nightmare. The most incompetent, unprofessional, careless movers I've ever encountered. Multiple items were damaged beyond repair as I watched them stumble around (yes, stumble), dropping heavy items that hadn't been strapped or wrapped. Running with fragile items and bumping the dolly up the stairs. Unloading boxes of books on top of boxes marked fragile. Yes, it was raining, but that was no excuse for their behavior, which included, as a bonus, an afternoon of screaming profanities at each other in my yard and in the truck. Each time I noted damage, they were offensive and defensive - although at one point, they came in, apologized for the damage, and offered to settle up and "finish the job off the clock." Answer: No. A Geek Squad agent was connecting the TV so witnessed 45 minutes of the chaos; he said "This is unbelievable. Take pictures and call their supervisor." I did both as the disaster unfolded, but the owner/boss didn't respond. No response even to the call where I said, "I need your help, these guys are starting to scare me." And as if destruction to items they moved wasn't enough, I found two examples of vandalism after they left. Owner called next day, said he was unavailable to look at the damage until the following weekend and he said "You signed a waiver limiting our liability." True, but the mover said, "Of course we'll be careful with your things." They weren't. When I finally met with the owner, he was as offensive and unprofessional as his movers. He laughed (literally) at my claims of vandalism. He dismissed my concerns about the damage (e.g., when looking at the large expensive dresser broken in 2 places and all the drawers dented, he said, "They should have wrapped it, but I've done that, too."). He dismissed everything I said about the experience (I have a witness to that meeting, too). When I said this is why I was calling him, he said, "Sometimes I have clients like you who call about everything and I just ignore them until after it's all over." Clients like me. He just ignores them. I said, "What about the call where I said they were starting to scare me?" He said, "A normal person who was scared would say 'Get out of my house.'" A normal person. A normal person who still has stuff on the truck calls the supervisor. He's sticking with the "You signed a waiver" line; that would give me a couple hundred dollars for what is about $4000 in damages, including to a wall in my house that has to be repainted. He came up with an excuse and a defensive or offensive response to everything I said. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR BELONGINGS AND YOUR HOME, AVOID ALL-AMERICAN MOVING SERVICES OF MERCED. read more

Total Nightmare! Mr. Araujo & one more person were suppose to load my items in Fresno. 1/2 hr. before they are to show, he calls and states he had another prior commitment. Asked him if they were professional, he stated yes. A gentleman and a lady showed up one hr. later. She commented that she could not fit all items in the U-Haul truck. Explained Mr. Araujo knew what items I had and that the truck I was getting would be sufficient. They worked hard. The gentleman had to leave for his prior commitment and she worked alone for a LONG TIME. I had to call Mr. Araujo, another gentleman shows up, introduces himself as Mr. Araujo's partner and when I returned to my garage he had left. I had to call Mr. Araujo again and finally a younger, younger gentlemen showed up. The lady and both gentlemen worked very hard, however; instead of 2 hours, it took 4 hrs. I ended up paying more. None of them were professional movers. All items did not fit in the truck. This was also passed on to Mr. Araujo. I hired men to unload my items and while they were doing their job, one of the men advised me of the hairline glass crack on the front of my buffet. I notified Mr. Araujo, and finally after much disagreeing, he stated that if the appraisal was not too much that he would split it with me. I paid $122.00, including labor. I sent him a copy via e-mail and then he answered by telling me that the glass could have broken in 3 different ways, so; he would only pay 1/3. Move was from San Francisco to Merced. Elmer (owner) sent his son Martin, and assistant Damien to SF. They showed up 2 hrs late to the Bryant St. Uhaul in SF ; 12:30 PM vs 10:30 AM. I sat and waited and waited on the day of a major move. They had every excuse and said, "we will make this up on the back end by charging less." The 2 hr tardiness, after assuring me that punctuality was their calling card cost us ~ 3.5 hrs b/c of intense traffic at 4 PM leaving SF and going through Livermore vs leaving at 2 as planned. The major problem was I paid a lot for their travel time and for the extra 3.5 hrs which was without question fully their fault. I prepared my belongings very orderly to make their job easy and efficient.They were careful with the move, but out and out lied. I gave Elmer a chance to make this up to me by doing a single washer/dryer pick-up in Merced and he did nothing. Elmer told me that he told his son to leave early enough from Merced, which he did not, but Made sure I paid for that mistake. read more
