My Experience I had…read morea unique experience today at your salon in Avon, OH (French Creek Square), and I feel it merits me taking a minute to write about it. I have been receiving my haircut at French Creek Square salon for at least 5 years. Ninety nine percent of the time I am happy with the service I receive. Shannon and Lauren are the ones who usually cut my hair as they have proven they are an expert in their trade time and time again, providing insight to product knowledge and assisting me with changing my haircut to contemporary trends when necessary. Today (August 19, 2015), I stopped in for a trim and gambled if one of my regular stylists would be in. Neither was, but Shannon always reassured me the staff at Great Clips was more than qualified to assist me if she wasn't available. My name was already at the top of the list as I utilize online check-in. After a brief minute of waiting I was called back to a chair, and a young lady read aloud what was saved in the system regarding how my hair usually got cut. I concurred and gave a little more direction, as I had never seen her before. Minutes into the trim I could tell this stylist wasn't the most experienced or seasoned, but I was okay with this because how else was she going to learn and become better if she didn't practice her craft. My haircut was looking quite a bit different than usual but I didn't know how to provide direction to correct it. It just didn't look right. As she was finishing up and gelling my hair, another stylist approached her and asked if she could step in for a moment. Apparently she could tell from her chair across the room there were some major flaws with my cut. You could immediately tell this stylist had years of experience once she started to cut (I later found out she has been cutting hair for 30 years). She made a few adjustments with the clippers and my hair was already taking regular shape. I mentioned to her "Please feel free to make any other adjustments you see fit, I'm in no rush". To sum this up, she cut my hair all over again. The downside is she had to take it shorter than usual to fix a few mistakes she found. Let me tell you why I am sharing this experience with you. I don't care my haircut was flawed, because nobody is perfect. I can live with the shorter hair as it will grow back in a few weeks. The PROFESSIONALISM, exuded by this stylist is why I will continue to call Great Clips my salon. In her mind, she refused to let me leave that salon with a haircut I would've been sure to hate after I took a closer look in the mirror at home. Instead of calling the next client back to her chair, she took an extra 10 minutes out of her day to fix my haircut and make sure I had a pleasant experience. I also want to note, she did not in anyway embarrass the newer stylist. The newer stylist watched and learned, as you can tell she wants to be the best she can be at her craft. For both of those reasons, I am proud to call Great Clips my Salon. So to the lady with three flowers tattoos on her chest (sorry I didn't catch your name), I thank you for your professionalism and candidness.
