The balloons deflated overnight. I called to ask if they could do anything about it as they were their balloons and their service. They just said "No, our balloons only last 5-7 hrs." This place is amazing. 2013 I came here for prom and I came back 2025 for my baby shower. Ivan the manager/supervisor created my balloon arch and did an AMAZING job. That didn't stop me from going almost I'll toil and checking things out. Of course I was looking for deals and found a couple of party favor bags and a glue stick that I need it for my craft, SCORE, 50% off! I'll definitely return. Horrible, horrible store! They had a sign outside the store that said Thanksgiving and Christmas was on sale, which lured us inside. Once inside the door, you have to maneuver through a metal anti-theft device just to enter the store. Once inside the store, everything was locked up! Seriously, who is going to steal a bunch of cheap party decorations that look like they were ordered from oriental trading company? That is the quality of the party decor here! Total junk. The leftover halloween decor and supplies were on sale, but they were all locked up! Cheap, flimsy plastic, mass produced halloween masks....locked up. It was unbelievable. Their helium doesn't work, I rented a tank and the balloons fell in four hours and they didn't want to give me a refund. Other people have had the same issue... Do not come here. First of all, Sonia has very poor customer service. She's rude and demeaning and has no respect for customers. Saturday we rented a helium tank. They charged us 100 dollars AND a security deposit of 150. Balloons were blown up at home with the tank we rented, at 4 am for a gender reveal. By 8 am, ALL the balloons were on the floor. I come to Alin's very often for supplies for balloon arches. I came in and they didn't have the right sizes for the color I was looking for. So I asked the woman (with light brown/blondish hair) at the balloon desk if she could help me combine two colors together to pick the right mix for the color I showed her. She said she didn't know how to do that. I said that's fine, if you could just give me a few different colors I could do it myself. So she did. I found the right match, and said thank you very much, sorry for the trouble. Then she asked if I needed the original bag of balloons (which she moved to behind the desk so I couldn't reach them). This place came in clutch for a party we needed supplies for SAME DAY! The original gender reveal balloon, purchased on Amazon, popped the night before the party (I didn't do it) So everyone was scrambling around trying to find where to get another balloon. Alin Party Supply in Lakewood was not at all what I expected. That's a good thing. Not only is there party supplies for birthdays, baby showers, and weddings, but also for all of those other "just because" themed parties. They sell everything from tableware to balloons and costume accessories to some unique gifts (like the "year you were born" book and some of the children's toys). There's so much more... Candy. Cardboard cutouts for photos. Wrapping paper. Tons of ribbons and bows - very large bows in an assortment of colors. Even a (though it may be small) teacher section. I asked the nice lady behind the balloon counter how much it was to have balloons filled. She clarified that for the regular 12" sized balloons it was $.99 apiece and for the Mylars it was $1.49 per balloon. This was as of 7/8/15. I think you would find Alin's to be a great starting point for your party supply needs. The employees were all busy, however, I was asked on a few occasions if I needed assistance. Most items were reasonably priced. To give you an idea, here's a list of items that I recently purchased there: - "Thank You" cards ($1.99) - Large crayons 8-count ($3.99)* - birthday card ($1.65) - 1-year-old birthday card ($2.00) - bubble bottles (one with one of our daughter's names and the other with a monogram for our other daughter) ($2.99 each)* - Little Mermaid favor bucket ($1.79) - Ariel blowouts ($4.99)* - tablecover ($4.00) - letter banner ($6.99)* - 16-count napkins ($2.50) - 8-count 7" square plates ($2.25) - 8.5X11" stationary paper ($.60 each) *denotes my (somewhat) "splurge" items 2 main criticisms: - the carts! If you're strapping a child into a shopping cart, of course, you have to keep a constant eye on them, but it sure would be nice if the majority of the straps weren't all broken or ill-fitting or put on the highest part of the cart... That's just a minor thing though since I do have a stroller. Carts are just slightly more convenient. - there is usually just one, at most two, people working the registers. But they are fast checking you out. Oh, and debit/credit cards are accepted, but they treat debit cards like credit cards so you have to sign a receipt either way. Try this place out if you're tired of your usual party stores. They recently had the cutest - what I call - "Shark Week" table. I posted a picture of part of that display. I regret not having visited this place when I bookmarked it ages ago. I suppose I'll be here more often with two little girls in our lives now. ;) There's an Alin Party Supply in Riverside too.
