Went here for an alignment. They explained that I would have to pay $100+ more because they have to disconnect the steering column and it's hard to access. I later realized I really just paid $100+ more for them to unscrew one easily accessible bolt since my car is missing AC and power steering making the bolt very easy to reach. Regardless, they still charged me. I would think an honest mechanic would let me know that the job wasn't as hard as they expected and refund some of my money back. read more

Ray and his guys are top shelf. They installed a suspension lift on my truck, along with some SPC (light racing) adjustable UCAs. Not many people know how to install these types of UCAs, let alone align the wheels after installing them. My 1974 C10 pickup needed help. I rebuilt the entire front suspension and steering in the truck, and lowered it with dropped spindles. I took it to another shop to have it aligned, and could tell after driving it away that the alignment was wrong. A friend recommended Alignment Plus and I am grateful he did. I called them and explained that I had done the work myself, but they agreed to look at the vehicle and set the alignment anyway. The first shop was way off, so Alignment Plus set everything correctly. I was also informed of a common problem with Chevy trucks this vintage. The rivets that secure the front crossmember to the frame begin to wear, allowing the steering crossmember to move when the front wheels are turned. They fixed the situation in my truck, and now she tracks straight and rides smoother than ever. No more shimmy going down the road! I have owned the truck for 26 years, and thought the shimmy was just a part of the type of truck! I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend Alignment Plus to anybody who values attention to detail. I had recently went from 18" to 20" wheels on my Cadillac and needed to have the vehicle's suspension re-aligned due to the change. Ray and crew took the vehicle and in less than one and a half hours had it properly aligned. I just got new tires it one of these guys to do an alignment I use them before 20 years ago and they were great. I wasn't having any issues I just wanted to have it perfectly aligned. It never pulled to the right left never Shake OR anything. I'm an avid mechanic for over 30 years but didn't let them know... I leave alignment up to the people that have the super expensive equipment obviously. I was told that I needed five different suspension components. He went ahead and did some work that I did not authorize. It stated clearly in their estimate vat they will speak with you before they do any work that is additional to be paid for. They came out with a bill equaling over$500. But I was finally talked to about the situation of necessary components needed I'll let them know that I wouldn't be doing that right now. I knew they were full of it as I had rebuilt the entire front suspension myself and just wanted it aligned. So I came home and put it up on my rack checked everything and guess what it didn't need one of the items day said were in question. Imagine that! I then proceeded to take apart the two items that they supposedly fixed, removed the pieces that they installed and reinstalled without those pieces. Then I checked those two components and guess what again?... It was absolutely 100% fine. Believe me, I will see retrieving my money from them. It's just not worth getting into a dispute with somebody right then & there when they are so obviously wrong things would never go right. So, just take care of it later because losers will always be losers. I'm sorry to say that I would never go here for anyting again. In my modest opinion, Alignment Plus is a negative. read more

Had a horrible experience with some old dud named Roy.(I think that was his name, but hes not too important to remember) Dude was really short with me and got irritated at the questions I had regarding my alignment. He walked away from me at one point while I was talking to get another tech over to talk to me. Which he still interrupted when he tried to give his answers to me. While I was asking some other questions Roy also rolled his eyes at me and didn't give me an answer. It took another guy at the desk to actually explain to me what I wanted to know. After that I called out Roy for rolling his eyes because it was really rude. Roy just became defensive and it became some childish argument where Roy kept on interrupting me and saying "Im talking" or putting up some "timeout" hands. They definitely lost business. Roy needs to grow up before handling costumers. read more

I did my research and I asked a lot of my car buddies for recommendations for an alignment shop. I got a good amount of recommendations, but for once I took a risk and tried Alignment Plus. I'm glad I did. I talked on the phone to Linda, prior to bringing my car in and she was very helpful and friendly. I took that phone call into consideration, so good thing Linda was helpful or I would've tried a different shop ;) I brought my car in during the weekday and there was no wait. I met Linda at the front desk and later on I met Steve. I believe Steve is the owner and the man! I don't know too much about alignment, but Steve was very helpful and informative. Steve and Linda know how to take care of their customers and if you read my past reviews, I'm all about customer service. My car is riding like new, the service was quick and I can always bring it back to check the thread of my tires to see if it's still riding evenly. The location is nice because it's close enough to walk to The Grand Plaza or better yet, Rip Current Brewery is a closer walk and it's been hot so that is a good place to kill some time, just don't go on a Tuesday...they are closed that day. I went in for a standard alignment job and got the dreaded phone call that the job would be much more substantial. Therefore, I really appreciated that when I arrived to pay, they walked me through every step of the job and show me the broken parts to reassure me I wasn't be fleeced. I only knocked a star off because on my drive home it was clear something was very wrong with my car. But I drove back and they took car of it right away. I went here for an alignment. I paid $45 for them to tell me the couldn't align my car as I needed 4 new parts and labor alone was over $300. I was told they would call me with a quote on the price for used parts on the next business day. I was called 2 days later and told they couldn't locate any used parts so I asked for a quote for new parts he said "sure I will call you with that tomorrow" it has been over a week and haven't heard anything back. I checked around at a few different places and asked some family members as we all came to the conclusion that alignment plus was jerking me around and not exactly being all that honest with me. If you have been in this business as long as you have it shouldn't take longer than a day to give an estimate. I ended up taking my car somewhere else for alignment. So I lost my $45 but I am ok with that. I found out that my car only needed 1 of the 4 parts Alignment Plus said that I needed and was given an estimate for the part and labor that same day. The cost of the part, labor and re alignment $170!!!! Plus the place I went to aligned my car as best as they could to hold me over until I am able to get in and get the part replaced. Buyer be ware! I was surprised when I came on Yelp at how many good reviews this place has as I did not have the same experience. They were dishonest and tried to get one over one me and made me pay $45 for nothing ... not even for them to align the car as best as they could and put it towards the cost of alignment smh very sad to have been deceived this way. read more

I have a 675,000 miles 30year old Mercedes that needed alignment after i installed new tie rods and center drag link. I took our 65 Mustang to these guys after putting a new suspension in it. There are actually very few shops around who know how to do an alignment using shims, but these guys came highly recommended by C&G parts. It's more of an art than a science with older cars and they really did an awesome job. When I came back to pick it up, the tech went for a ride with me to make sure I was happy with how it handled. They also gave me some great recommendations for other local shops to do some other work I needed (that they brought to my attention). 100% professional, Ray and his team know everything thing you need to know about alignment and suspension. My 2010 Tacoma has a factory leaf springs recall. When I received my truck back from Toyota of Escondido my truck sounded like a squeak horse carriage. My rear alignment was off, the dealer did not realign my suspension. Ray and his team, shows me the issues when my tuck was up on the rack. An hour and thirty minutes later, all the squeaks were gone and the ride was good as new. This is my second visit to Alignment Plus, this time for my wife's Prius Plug-In. I suspected that the Prius needed an alignment mainly because of how it handled on the highway. It seemed to be a little "squirly" rather than setting a straight line and although we had 45,000 miles on the recently replaced tires there was slightly uneven wear. I should explain that I know a lot about cars as an engineer that worked on automotive diagnostic systems, so I had chosen Alignment Plus because I was told by a colleague that they were one of the best, most thorough alignment shops in the San Diego area. This visit and my last, with my Mercury Milan Hybrid didn't disappoint. I had a great conversation with Ray about technology in the business after I saw his new alignment machine while the guys checked the Prius. Sure enough they found that the back end was not tracking straight behind the front wheels. Normally to fix this would take the technician a few tries to get it right since this is a more difficult adjustment, but it took only one try with the features of this particular alignment machine. The cost was reasonable, but the best news is that it is like we have a different car. I thought questionable highway handling was a Prius design, but now I know I just needed to take my wife's Prius to Ray at Alignment Plus. I should add that I have been impressed that Alignment Plus works on practically every vehicle made, from cars to full-on busses. They obviously know their business. read more

This is a great shop! Steve helped me out w/ removing and reinstalling bushing and ball joint on the '59 Cadillac I'm restoring. Since all the parts were powder coated, his technician had to make a special jig to assemble everything. He took the time to explain the entire process and that there was likely to be a small amount of scratching where the bushings were pressed in. I don't think anyone could have put these parts together without some scratching and I had to put my reading glasses on to find them. Also, he gave me a price break when I agreed to letting him fit my job when the shop slowed down. This shop and another around the corner was referred by the neighboring shop Lyon's. These businesses work together to make sure the customers is well served! read more
