Pizza places are a dime a dozen here in SE Michigan. However, Pizza is what Alibi is famous for and they deliver in spades. It's all about the sauce. A hair on the sweet side but the crust is grease free. It also passes the cold pizza test as well tasting just as good the next morning. Reasonably priced. Went here Friday night around 9pm. I wasn't super hungry so I got a Greek salad. Got the small. It was gianormous. Should have gotten the individual size. Tons of dressing piled on top, next time I will ask for it on the side. I have had he pizza several times. Pretty good. Homemade brownie was by far the best thing I've had there. Everyone raves about this place, but I am not really Thrilled with it. IT isn't bad, I just don't like their salad dressings and prefer a pan pizza. I am gluten intolerant, so when I have pizza it isn't just any pizza! Their Bread sticks are basically Pizza crust ..no special sauce cheese or anything real special. however it is a good place to get together in groups. I go for the pizza. It's the easiest on the wallet and feeds the most mouths. Their salads are great too and that rounds out the meal for us. It's not really on our way to anything anymore, so we rarely get to go. The best time to go is right at 1 pm on Sundays - before the church crowds get out. this place started as a house that served food out of the kitchen and grew from there used to one of my favorite places when I lived in rochester. I do think the the quality has gone down abet in the last few years. Pizza used to be too die for now it's just good but greasy. bread is vg and I love antipasto salad the dressing is home made. I get accused of not liking pizza, but this is not true. I only like GOOD pizza, and Alibi has good pizza! The sweet crust is what makes it so good. I get mushroom green pepper, and onion, and they pile it on. The tortellini Romano is also very good. If it weren't embarrassing, we would probably each order our own bread basket and call it dinner-so delicious. I always have to throw in my dining with kids spin, so here is the only problem. Three hungry boys and me. Eight slices just isn't going to cut it with them, so we have to order two pizzas. Their small table for four just cannot handle the load. We used to go to Alibi's many years ago when we lived in Rochester Hills. It was always a favorite of mine, so I was excited to go back after being away for so long. I brought a group of people with me and was nervous that perhaps I was over-hyping the place. I am pleased to say that it was still every bit as good as I remembered and my guests were equally pleased. Their pizza is still incredible...my BIL even concurred by saying, 'you sure picked a winner'! I can't speak to their other menu items as their pizza is what always kept me coming back, but I do enjoy the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and have always loved the way they decorate for the holidays. It was quite done up for Halloween, so now I am looking forward to coming back at Christmas time to see if it's still as festive as I recall. read more

Someone in my party had their prime rib on the weekends and they said it was delicious! This is my FAVORITE place for pizza in metro Detroit. They always load it up with plenty of cheese and the dough has a sweetness to it that I can't find anywhere else. If you like pepperonis, I suggest you ask for double because they are a bit skimpy in that department. I've dined here many times and never had poor customer service, just a nosy bartender. Good God this place is amazing. Their warm breadsticks? UGH. I could eat like four freakin baskets. I've only had their pizza but it's always been really good. HUGE slices. Seriously, a small is more than enough for two people. Only thing that sucked was the wait. The bread sticks are straight from the oven and very good. The house dressing is the best, it's an Italian dressing with a sweet kick, truly the best I have tasted ever. I absolutely love Alibi pizza, and get carry-out at least a couple times per month. It's incredibly delicious, prepared quickly, and is cheaper than any other quality pizza place around. If you haven't tried their pizza, you need to do yourself a favor and go there. Seriously. Right now. The antipasto salad is also amazing, especially the dressing. The salad comes with black olives, but they never have a problem putting them on the side for me (daughter loves them, so can't just skip altogether.) Most of my friends love the Greek salad as well, and I do agree that it's good, but it doesn't wow me like the antipasto does. I can't really speak to the rest of the menu, because I haven't ordered anything other than pizza in many, many years. I actually used to come to the Alibi with my grandparents when I was very young, and they never ordered pizza, so apparently there must be something else good on the menu. The reason I usually get carry-out instead of dining in is that we haven't had the best luck with service, and the reception staff is usually very unpleasant. The last time I dined in was an exception and everyone was very friendly, which was out of the norm enough that I actually told several friends how crazy my experience was (in a positive way). I don't know if it was because it was a weekday evening or if they finally hired some nice employees, but either way, I'm willing to try dining in again soon. read more

Having only had Alibi Pizza at the Lion's Den in Waterford and loving it, I had to try the original since I was driving by it. I was not let down. The Pizza was delicious. As I have previously said on my Lion's Den review ,Alibi is one of the very few Pizza places takes me serious when I ask for double mushroom to give me double mushroom. It was covered with shrooms like I wanted!!! I got take out and it was the hardest thing to not open the box and dive right in while driving. I might have to relocate to be nearer one of these locations. Bravo Alibi! read more

I used to get their mushroom ravioli, which was good but sadly they're no longer making it. But the pizza is so good. It's the dough that's the key. However, they have the rudest employees in the world. It stems from the owner who treats his clientele like he's doing you a favor to let you eat at his restaurant. Very good pizza! Alibi is famous for their round pizza, so I have not tried their square. Usually I prefer deep dish square pizza, but their round is very good. It is not deep dish nor is it thin and crispy - I would call it "regular crust". The crust has a distinct flavor to it that I can't quite identify. It is slightly sweet and perhaps a bit sourdough-like. I have also had the Alibi pizza from Lions Den in Waterford (apparently owned by the same folks) and it is actually better at Lions Den than at Alibi... odd, but that's my opinion! I have been a couple times at lunch and the service has been very good. On one occasion I actually called ahead and asked them to have two pizzas ready for myself and 3 coworkers to eat in the restaurant upon our arrival. They happily obliged, which was great! I've never tried this at another restaurant, but I imagine some places would be hesitant to cook up two large 5 topping pizzas and then hope we'd actually show up to pay for them - they did not ask for payment on the phone and they do not have any of my information on record. I have not tried their other food but the pizza and lunch time experience was excellent! I also came one time in the evening with my wife for dinner, and we left without eating. Since there were just two of us they placed us at a small table which was literally touching the table next to it... the same as you'd do if you push two small tables together for a party of four. I do not like eating at the same table as strangers when out with my wife, so we left. If you don't mind this, then I'm sure they'd be good at dinner time as well. Let me start by saying that I've been here before and had better experiences. Substantially better even. Then again, every time I came here in the past, I had pizza and/or salad -- the stuff they're known for. I knew that straying from their standards would be risky, but I wasn't that hungry and didn't want to be bloated with pizza for the rest of the day, so I decided I'd try something lighter. I asked our waitress (who was helpful and pleasant) if they could just grill up a chicken breast and serve it with a side of vegetables. She directed me to the "Caprese Chicken" off of the gluten free section of their menu, which is described as "Char-grilled chicken breast topped with seasoned diced tomato and fresh sweet basil. Served with grilled asparagus." Sounded like the plain grilled chicken wasn't an option, but this sounded good, too. When it showed up, it was plated on a smallish plate for side orders, with the five stalks of grilled asparagus on one side and a mound of diced tomatoes with a shread or two of wilted basil on the other side. Under the tomatoes, I discovered a 1/4" thick piece of shoe-leather-tough, dried out chicken. The asparagus was actually not too bad, but what the menu did not describe was what seemed like a good half dozen cloves of raw, minced garlic that was mixed in with the tomatoes. I literally could not taste the chicken whatsoever. Or the tomatoes for that matter. All I could taste -- for a good several hours after lunch, and after several pieces of gum -- was that garlic. Now I like usually like garlic, but this was just gross. I ended up scraping all the tomatoes and garlic off the rest of the chicken and finishing it because I knew I wouldn't be able to eat for a while and it was a way smaller portion than I'd thought. If you go to this place, you'll probably be safe with the pizza and antipasto. Beware of the rest of their menu, though. read more

I don't understand it, this place ALWAYS has a minimum of a 15 minute wait, it's usually much longer. The food is okay, nothing special. The pizza is okay, I'd rather get something delivered, the antipasto is great, but only because the sugar in it is excessive. Decent, but never once has it been worth the wait. read more

My family really loves it here. Local place, family friendly and casual vibe, very clean, and of course, the food is great. We usually come here weekly because the french onion soup and pizza is a great family night out, but after a few very poor experiences with a certain server, we are here much less frequently. Unfortunately, we keep seeming to get a server who has just the worst and most unfriendly attitude. It's as though we've done something to personally offend her, which assuredly isn't the case. Every other server we've had here has been 5 stars just so kind and attentive, we just keep getting unlucky I guess. We're nervous to go because she truly ruins the night and we can't chance wasting money on a night out ruined by someone who won't make eye contact, rushes us to order, sighs and rolls her eyes. doesn't refill drinks, and tosses food onto the table. The first time we had her she brought over an almost empty pitcher of soda, dumped it into my husband's cup, filling it less than halfway and walked away never to return until she brought the check.
