Falafel Platter
Meera K.

This is one of our favorite Mediterranean places in the city. They've been around for a while and their quality has not changed. I went my with husband and parents and we all shared 2 falafel platters and fries. The platters come with several falafel balls, pita bread, tzaziki, hummus and then we asked for the veggies which came with roasted cauliflower and carrots. Also ask for the hot sauce on the side! This was the perfect amount for the 4 of us we were able to make our own little falafel sandwiches the way we wanted. The fries are nice and crispy. Occasionally I swing by here to just pick up a plate of falafel if we re hosting Mediterranean at home and it turns out so great!

Their dolmas are vegan and delicious!

I stumbled upon this place, as I was staying nearby and passed them daily. It's a small establishment with a few tables for dining in. My visit was during COVID-19, but they were open for carry-out orders. The owner was very nice, friendly, and quite knowledgeable about what was vegan-friendly on his menu. DOLMAS - All dolmas are not created equal. Lucky for me, these were some of the best I've had. The grape leaves were moist, not dry as some like to serve them. The rice inside was warm and adequately seasoned. They were melt-in-your-mouth delicious! FALAFEL DONER - Basically, a falafel pita, served the way nature intended, with the pita sliced open and all the goodies stuffed inside, like they serve 'em on the east coast and at Maoz, in Europe. The pita was fresh and soft. The magic inside though! Crispy falafel, roasted veggies, including eggplant and cauliflower ((I could've eaten that roasted cauliflower as a side dish!), banana peppers, hummus, and tahini. (I omitted the cucumbers and tomatoes. I added tahini instead of the non-vegan tzatziki sauce.) OMG was it glorious to my tastebuds! I added some SEASONED FRIES to my meal and they were the perfect companion. Crispy and well seasoned, they paired well with pita sandwich. It was a lot of food. Great portions for the price. If I'm ever in Cincinnati again, I know what's for lunch or dinner!

I have never been here before or knew it existed. I was working at the time and we had decided to get some Gyros. I got the Gyro platter which comes with gyro meat, salad, hummus and pita bread. You can add double meat to your platter for only $1 and an extra piece of pita bread for $0.65. The platter costed $10.50. I was stuffed after eating my meal. It was super delicious and plan to go back soon. I got my food To go and the wait for the food wasn't too long. The person working the register was super nice and knowledgeable about the food, he might have been the owner I am not sure. Their are plenty of options between meat dishes and vegetarian dishes. Everything is reasonably priced on the low end. Finding a good Gyro is hard to come by and I believe this place has a really good Gyro!! Parking is limited as it is in a plaza.

So good and filling, but still healthy. This place is small and clean on the inside with lots of friendly staff. I ordered the Gibraltar platter, when it came out I was shocked at the portion. It was big enough for 2 people. All the spaces and veggies were fresh and delicious.

We got food here at 8pm which is pretty late since they close at 9. We were thinking about not bothering them but they were getting steady business up to the last minute. There was a customer when we came in and there was a customer coming in when we left. The guy in charge took our order and his voice had a low, soft-spoken nature. He was very nice and professional, repeating our orders back to make sure he got it right. My takeaway from this place is that it's very affordable Mediterranean protein fast. The price for a gyro sandwich is $7 on the wall and I bet it hasn't changed in years. There's copious amounts of meat in the sandwich. I felt maybe the vegetables and the sauce were a little low ratio to the meat but that's a pretty minor complaint and I bet you could ask or pay for a little extra. The pita was a pita and the fries weren't awesome but not terrible. If you're looking for a quick bite and you want more protein than that scoop of meat in a chipotle burrito, this place is worth a try, but nothing spectacular. I'll definitely try this place again to see if there's a hidden gem in their menu that's not just a gyro sandwich.

Food was fresh and fast. Casual locally-owned spot. Had the gyro plate and falafel. It was delicious. Owner was very friendly as well.

Falafel, Gyro, and tilapia are excellent. Great value. They even serve CINCINNATI style chili now, but haven't tried yet.

If this appeals to you, try this place. Their service makes you quickly feel right at home, and that continues throughout the meal. There were five of us, so we ordered several dishes to share. The hummus was fresh, the falafel was crispy on the outside and tasty, the lamb was tender, and the lahmacun ('Turkish pizza' for those that haven't tried this) was outstanding. The Lahmacun reminded me of my visit to a Turkish restaurant in Kazakhstan many years ago -- it was that good. My adult kids also had the salmon and a chicken sauté and loved both... I almost lost a finger getting a nibble. The drinks and desserts were also spot on. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and has seating to accommodate larger groups, so bring your friends and family and share. One recommendation for the Cafe -- we wish the lighting were a bit dimmer. Seemed a little bright in the main dining area. Other than that, thanks for a great night.

The salmon wasn't as "well done" as I would have preferred but still very good. The cooked veggies were seasoned very well too. It's a great date night spot or for a girls night. Food: 5/5 Dishes are explained as slightly larger plates than tapas style. My favorites: Wood Grilled Octopus, Crispy Falafel, Bouillabaisse. Love the Moroccan Mint Tea as well! Service: 4.7/5 Very friendly! They course out your plates for you which I always love. They were able to accommodate my pescatarian diet (I.e., meats on the side to give to others at the table). On a less busy night, they offered a free toast for my birthday. I've been for other celebratory dinners here on busier nights where that hasn't happened, so it was a lovely surprise! Ambiance: 4/5 A little busy and can get loud on the weekends with table chatter, cutlery clinks, and the brick walls echoing noise around. Tables are also close together, so you can definitely hear the conversation next to you. The decor is pleasant and the lighting is soft and romantic enough that it is still a perfect date night spot! There are also a couple larger crescent booths for larger parties.

After a Great Clips haircut, on the recommendation of the stylist, I tried it out, was very impressed. Been there many times since, never been disappointed. I've since moved to Liberty Twp. but the Phoenician still beckons. Had dinner last night there with my wife. It was a wonderful experience. I felt it was high time I wrote them up. We started with an excellent double-hop IPA and a great Lebanese red wine, I think it was called Kefraya. Gonna seek it out locally, maybe at Jungle Jim's. As always, the pita bread is fresh, oven-hot and delectable. The shankleen appetizer is outstanding, a lovely fusion of greens, lentils, feta cheese, olive oil and spices. Wife ordered schwirma - slow-grilled combo of sliced chicken alongside sliced beef and lamb. The waiter obligingly substituted a side of couscous for rice, no extra charge. I had a braised shank of lamb in a rich tomato sauce. Both entrees were delicious. As always, the portions were very generous, so we took food home along with complimentary fresh pita bread. Besides the great food, the service is superb. The owner makes a point of stopping at each table to ensure that the diners are happy. We look forward to our next visit.

Finally she made reservations for Saturday evening (it is recommended because they get super busy). We got there and was greeted by the owner. BTW, was very down to earth. So their menu looked good (Lebanese food). There is so much to choose from and hard to decide. I especially loved their drink menu, especially wines. We ended up ordering: Appetizers: Baba ghannouge M'hammara Taverna falafel Dinner: Shawarma chicken Kebab mixed grill Drinks: Chateau kefraya, Les Bretches Almaza Pilsner My favorite from the appetizers is the eggplant and falafel! Super fresh and the bread that came with it was so good. Even the dipping sauce was amazing. My Shawarma chicken was super delish. You have to put the garlic butter on the rice! It gives it great flavor. My Mr enjoyed his meal as well. We definitely had to get a to go box because there was so much food. But we will look forward the next day to eat it. Overall, the service was great and I loved the experience. We can see ourselves coming back for more! I can see why my best friend loves it here! Highly recommend you try it.

We are in town visiting and we went there for a nice meat meal after several days of dairy on the road. There were 6 of us at the table with 2 children. If I lived in town I would not be going back. They had 1 waitress working the entire place. She was kind enough but all she did was make excuses. We sat down at 6:15 and we did not get our hummus appetizer, which apparently they ran out of soon after, until 7:15. When we arrived there was only 2 tables occupied so it was not bustling. I am not sure how or why it took so long to prepare Hummus but given the ingredients I could have scratch cooked our entire meals in a fraction of that time. Again, when we arrived there were 2 other tables of 2 and maybe 1-2 small orders picked up during out time there. During our visit they had several more groups come in, some served before us, some getting the constant refrain, "we are out of this." It seems like there was 1 chef in the kitchen preparing all the food on their own. It is also highly problematic that they had 2 small children sitting there for an hour with not even a little bread or anything. We had to push the waitress to get the hot dogs out so they would calm down. As for the food, most of it was OK. The ribeye was properly cooked. The braised short rib was tender with a little wine flavor. The kids hot dogs were hot dogs. The chicken schwarma was flavorful. The Israeli salad was what you would expect. The green beans were overcooked, unseasoned and tasted like nothing. The worst and most impressive thing was how they got the mashed potatoes to taste like they came from a powder out of a box. I don't often leave something completely uneaten but they were inedible. How you can serve a $50 steak with such artificial swill is beyond me. I get it, they are the only option. Fail!
