EXCELLENT lavosh bread with egg coating and a sprinkling of white AND black sesame seeds, served like a gigantic inflated zeppelin. I was SHOCKED by the tastiness and freshness of the grilled lamb. Nothing stringy and tough, just perfectly done, almost rare but prettily cooked through. WONDERFUL Turkish coffee. It is worth the $4. AMAZINGLY ungreasy falafel. Wow, it tastes fresh and green! Extremely hard to find Mid East style food. Ali Babas is a staple of the people who actually LIVE here and work here. Friendly and accomodating. Really good falafel and gyros with the "Spicy or not" option. The pita is actually fresh --not that packaged crap which tastes like old leather---and is warm and soft--a cousin to the Lavash. But the absolute HIT of the place is the LAVASH BREAD fresh and hot and hugely puffy direct out of the open to view flaming oven. Gorgeous with multi coloured and tasty sesame seeds on top---amazing. Parking can be tricky and the "new improved" ie cut ALL the trees down thru the entire area leaving it looking oddly bald and with NO shade --make sure to get a parking slip from the vending machines, AS good as I had in the Mid East. read more

This is the second time I've been here when I have gone to Lake George. Food is very delicious I recommend the falafel wrap, grape leaves, lavash and yogurt sauce, and of course the pistachio baklava! It's a little pricey but it's so worth it. If you like this type of food this is to place to go! People there are very nice and accommodating two small children. I like all the knick knacks on the walls and the furniture it's a very clean establishment and we enjoyed going there. I highly recommend this place read more

Lamb Kebob is fantastic. Don't go by the diner-like photos on the menu. Fresh bread is served to each table with a creamy dipping sauce. Be careful when breaking open the bread (we attacked savage style)....it puffs up really high since its filled with very hot air. read more

Fantastic restaurant! The bread is out of this world, the kabab, too! Finish your meal off with the baklava and you will be smiling all night. We went to this place with my parents and two kids (ages 10 and 7),we were worried that the kids would not like the food. The opposite happened,my son ate the yogurt and bread to my utter amazement! Not recommended based on customer service. The staff were rude and disrespectful. They refused to serve a group of 20+ as they 'didn't want to lock out the restaurant' due to the amount of people. We were basically throwing money at them to serve us but they refused. Logic was warped. I cannot understand how you can turn away paying customers. After challenging their stance we are told to leave the premises. We even suggested to take out the food which was also denied. I strongly suggest you so not visit this place. read more

Visiting Lake George from NYC, this was by far our favorite dining spot. The lamb chops are a must, the grape leaves were the best we've had in a LONG time (and coming from Astoria this is saying something!), and the staff is wonderful and friendly. read more

The restaurant itself looks pretty good compared to others. The food is somewhat good (for a regular -middle eastern food- eater). However, the customer service is horrible. I am not one for looking for mistakes to make a huge thing out them but there were mistakes that kept happening that ruined the whole experience. Firstly, as we are making our order, the waiteress makes a face at our order (ordered plain sandwiches, instead of having sauce and such on it). Secondly, she messed up which sandwiches needed what and gave us -technically- the wrong order. We went to her nicely explaining that there is been a mistake, she understood and went to get our right order. She still brought the wrong order after we went to her twice to explain what our order is to avoid future mistakes. She still brought the wrong order for what was the second or third time. She didn't apologize for the mistake or anything of the sort, she just blatantly ignored us. The manager served us our order the last time and it was finally good. We had to ask for the check twice, after she clearly noticed the first time, because she simply ignored us. I must say the customer service we received ruined the whole experience for us. read more

The food here is very good. The tzatziki sauce is a bit watery. The lafta bread is delicious. I had the Greek salad with gyro meat, it was very enjoyable however there were no onions on the salad and I had to ask for the tzatziki sauce. My father in law had a beef/lamb gyro but it didn't have any lettuce, tomatoes or onions. Basically just meat and pita For dessert I was excited to order kadaif which is one of the 3 desserts on the menu, but much to my disappointment the waitress said they didn't have any. The establishment is a nice size but they only have one bathroom for the customers. When it is full the line is so long. I would come back however the few negative aspects of this restaurant hold it back from it getting 5 stars. read more

The flavor of the food is on point but the meats don't complement the flavor/ texture. I ordered the chicken curry. It was cubed chicken breast with warm rice and brused/cold green beans on the side I paid $13.95. You don't use breast for curry you use thighs which complements the stew of the curry. The breast made the dish difficult to eat because it has a tough dry texture to it. My wife ordered the chicken gyro $10 again they used big cubed chicken breasts. Which made it a messy meal to handle. As soon as you take a bite the pita start to break apart in weird directions making the whole sandwich fall apart in your hands. Not to mention $3 for crap Pepsi brand drinks THE ONLY THING GOOD HERE WAS THE HUMMAS. read more

It was a pleasant surprise to dine here and have such good authentic Mediterranean food. The homemade hummus was wonderful as was the pita ? bread. I'm not sure what it is called but it was wonderful and hot and fresh. It looked like a football when it arrived and I had never had anything like it. This is a pretty straightforward kebab-ary with the caveat that the portions are especially meager (and the meat sometimes not so great) and the prices surprisingly high. On the other hand, they make fresh flatbread - it's always great fun to watch the soft pillows deflate, though perhaps I am easily amused - and the simple food is satisfying. This place is anything but authentic. If you have had middle eastern/mediterranean food before THEN RUN!!!!!! If you havent, ALSO RUN!!!! This would be a sad 1st choice for this type of cuisine. Came here with my friend and boyfriend when we visited Lake George last week. My friend and i ordered the falafel platter, my boyfriend got the falafel wrap. When we placed our orders, i asked for pickles to be brought to the table (ALL MIDDLE EASTERN OR MEDITERRANEAN PLACE SERVE PICKLES AND OLIVES WITHOUT YOU ASKING) they had to go check first if they can give us pickles. Once the waiter got the OK... he brought us a small plate of chopped up red cabbage. Is this considered pickles lol? i dont know once our meals came i was a little bit horrified. The falafels were YELLOW. no falafel in the world is yellow. The texture and consistency of the falafel was WAY OFF. Falafels are made of ground chick peas and spices, these falafels were made of FLOUR. The balls were light and empty and inside. No flavor. A lot of air pockets inside the falafel. This was a shame for anyone to think these were real falafels. The salad that comes with the platter is served with no type of dressing, its just dry salad. The hummus is wattery but decent. The garlic cucumber yogurt dip was good. 2 skinny slivers of lavash bread came with the platter, not enough bread to enjoy the hummus or yogurt dip. When i requested more bread from the person who i assume was the owner by the cash register, i was told NO. The bread is made to order with your meal, you cant get more. They did not even offer me the option to PAY for extra bread. This was a disgusting way to treat customers. The bread is obviously made as a big loaf and then cut, they tried telling me that it wasnt. My boyfriends falafel sandwich looked repulsing when he got it. it was a few falafels (fake falafels) drenched in a pool of yogurt dip. He specifically asked for hummus, falafel, cucucumbers and pickles in his sandwich and hot sauce. Nothing else. The waiter argued with him that that was hummus in his sandwhich. Which NO it wasnt. Hummus is creamy and tan colores, the sauce in his sandwich was wattery and WHITE!!!! My boyfriend said he didnt want his sandwich and handed it back to the waiter. The waiter comes back 5 minutes later with the same sandwich and says "I JUST ASKED IN THE BACK, THIS IS HUMMUS IN THE SANDWHICH" We said no it wasnt, my boyfriend refused to eat or order anything else. My friend also had little fuzzy stuff in her salad. This place is very disappointing. Only come here if you have no taste buds and are desperate. What a shame this place was. This was the first time that i have had any Mediterranean food, and what a great place to start trying it! i have no clue what i was really ordering, but there was chicken and something tomatoy so i got it. It was sooo good. as was the curry and lamb gyro my friends got. you have to order the Lavash bread. it was piping hot and steamy. and the dip that it comes with was amazing. however, $55 for 3 ppl was more than what i wanted to pay for lunch. read more

Decent Turkish food although somewhat overpriced. The Lavash bread is definitely the best thing here. It is fun to share are dip in the yogurt dill sauce. The falafel plate was unusually good here; it was sprinkled with tahini and spicy sauce, and the texture was unusually soft. I wasn't crazy about the rice, and my gf's veggie iskender plate was nothing special either. While I have definitely had better Turkish food elsewhere, in Lake George, quality food is hard to come by, and I would have no problem eating here again. read more

I went last week with my step mom and sister and we had a great meal. I recommend the salad platter that has a little of all the options with Lavash bread. I had the lamb gyro which was good and my sister had the falafel which was amazing! We finished off with Turkish coffee and baklava. Yum! The staff was very friendly, the decor was cute and what a refreshing change from the usual suspects at Lake George. Highly recommend!
