After spending time exploring downtown Martinez's antique shops and farmers market, we headed over…read moreto Five Suns Brewing Company for lunch and refreshments. It was a beautiful day, perfect for sitting outside and listening to live music. The staff was extremely helpful, answering all of our questions and even offering tastes of their beers and sours. I'm not usually a fan of sours, so I went with the Ernst Amber Ale, while my friends ordered the Cosmo Sour and the P-Wing Sour. For sours, they were surprisingly tasty. I may have to give them another chance. Street Steam Bunz was the food truck of the day, and we ordered rice bowls with bulgogi beef and chicken katsu. Both were served with fried rice, ginger, and pickled cucumbers, and everything was delicious. A great way to spend a Sunday. Five Suns and Street Steam Bunz both earn five stars from me.

We met some friends at Five Suns for a couple of beers on a leisurely Saturday. Our first time…read morehere, but our friends are regulars and spoke highly of this spot. Nice, casual spot to hang out. The staff is friendly and helpful, and happy to make suggestions and provide samples. Prices are actually reasonable, noticeably more so than comparable places. I had an OG Burst, and a Ghost Moon Pilsner. The pilsner was very good. RB had the Granger porter and enjoyed it. There is a food truck by the patio, from which we ordered a grilled cheese, which was good. You can also bring in outside food if you prefer. Would return for another visit next time we're in downtown Martinez.

I visited to get another bottle of the: Sepay Groves…read moreFrantoio EVOO which is cold-pressed olives with a high poly- a bit peppery, grassy and (to me) a tad bitter. I use as a finishing oil drizzled on roast vegetables or for pasta dishes. Frantoio olive oil also has known health benefits! A great antioxidant, reduce inflammation, help with lowering cholesterol and for heart health due to high polyphenols. I'm all for it...a daily tablespoon or two will do ya! If you're a bit more adventurous you can go with the other high polyphenol EVOO of Spanish olives called Hojiblanca. Plenty of options of vinegars and olive oils to sample before you buy. Bought the 18yr old aged balsamic which elevates any dressing and your friend's will comment "how come mine doesn't taste like yours" (evil laugh!) ...quality ingredients make a difference! Staff helpful and will provide ideas for pairings with food and educate on the wonderful selection of products. Store shelves were not fully stocked (when I visited in Jan) but you can ask and a bottle will be filled in the back. Plenty of street parking and towards the end of First Street. Make it a destination for waterfront hike, shopping and eating! Support small business

I really like this place. Both owners are knowledgeable and pleasant…read more Their patience with me as I ask stupid questions about olive oil and vinegars. I like what I like but have no real knowledge. That's why I like Sepay. Lots of surprises in the store beyond oil and vinegars. Soup mixes that are really good. Pasta, dips... you just need to go to the store. Next door in a wine place that opens at 4:00 that can round out the journey.

Do NOT miss this spot! The food is made with care and great quality…read more Hamburger- lovely charbroiled flavor with solid options. I ordered the the happy hour burger and added bbq sauce , sautéed jalapeños and avocado. Perfect. Husband ordered Yowza! Bacon, fried onion rings, cheese and bbq sauce. The bbq sauce is house made and perfect balance of tangy and sweet. Chicken tenders- pounded chicken cutlets perfectly battered and crisp. Empanada - yes, empanada. This restaurant has Peruvian flare. It was excellent and it came with a delightful aji Amarillo sauce. I ended up using it in everything! We took a tamal home and it came with more aji sauce AND pickled red onions. Out of this world!!! Service was also friendly and super helpful without being over the top. It's a solid spot and you can tell that the staff genuinely cares about the food they serve. Love this place!

Decided to give them a second chance, because why not…read more The restaurant is clean, and kinda fun with lots of wall art, it's very small with only a few tables. They do have a nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas over the tables for shade. The staff was nice and were decently prompt to assist me when I arrived. They did bring the food to the table and a full jug of water. The burger was okay, I had the Burgertinez, the pesto and mayo was a good touch, with the sprouts. The cheese was sort of melted and the burger was cooked well inside but had some burnt edges on the outside. The fries were solid. The pickle was really good. Happy hour looks like a good deal, wish they would have mentioned it before i ordered my food.
