Anywho, this stop doesn't seem to be cleaned out very often, based on the discoloration of the toilets. While I was passing by the open stalls, I thought people were being lazy and not flushing, but when I finally stepped into a stall, I realized the bowl was just caked with filth. This stop like most have vending machines and a map of Michigan. It's got a very short and easy in and out. Cars drive to the right and trucks/cars with trailers drive to the left.

The area provided some nice picnic tables and seats, and they looked pretty well maintained, so you could sit down and have your snacks and drinks here while resting. Also, the area was very beautiful and gorgeous. It was super green - with lots of tall trees and grassy areas, perfect for kids to run around a bit to tire them out before having them sit in a car for some more hours again. Also you'd find a nice, semi-hidden little hiking/walking trail in this area and this trail would take you up to a higher ground where you could overlook 75 and realize how beautiful and green Michigan was :) oh and the breeze up there was wonderful too.

This is the Michigan Welcome Center at US-127 and US-10…read more Entrance is on both sides going northbound or southbound. The Mackey welcome area info and store is closed. It's an easy on and off. Plenty of restrooms with dirty well water in the bowls that makes it look not flushed. Nice area for a dog run and for kids and adults to stretch out. There's also plenty of picnic tables for a snack break too. You can see signs of spring in the 3 gardens surrounding the welcome center as well. It's nice and cool or as fancy as some I have been to in other states, like Ohio with food courts and the like, but it serves its function. My husband teased that this is my first rest stop review, ever.

It is accessible for both northbound traffic and southbound traffic and perfectly located for this area of Michigan. It has a store with maps, employees who can help make arrangements. It is so much more than a "rest area". Charles is wonderful, helpful, honest, conscientious and knowledgeable, as well as warm and friendly!! He went above and beyond any expectations in assisting us with a lost item. Truly a great employee and representative for the State of Michigan!

The rest area has bathrooms, vending machines and picnic tables as well as a pet walking area. I found the restrooms to be reasonably clean today and the parking lot was clear of litter.
