Service is exceptional, as well. I've yet to meet someone there who isn't both respectful and kind. Since we live nearby, we frequently take the kids there to go swimming for a few hours. Again, a tad pricey, but better than a long trek out of town to a public pool. To add a bit of fun to the stay, some swear it's haunted! Do you believe in ghosts?

The establishment was mostly older people. The decor hadn't been updated in any way and felt like it has looked like this for many years which made it look tired and worn rather than the vibe of a thriving business. We had a room with 2 doubles that had a ton of space to spread out and toss your luggage but then the bathroom was really cramped with about 1-inch between the toilet and the bathroom door. Not a big deal but just not a well designed space. If you're looking for something with more character and charm, and in downtown then you should head to the Doherty. If you just need a place to sleep this'll do just fine. PS - The mural of leprechauns in the lobby/breakfast room is a little bit creepy. Not so much that you'll have nightmares but enough that you'll question why on earth someone painted it.

It's a walk in, but more importantly the shower head is actually up high, so us tall people can actually shower comfortably. The only slight negative is the soap dispenser in the shower barely work. The other issue is the sound proofing could be better, you could hear everything in the hallway. Overall a 4 1/2 star review. Since I have to round, it's a positive 4 star. Would I return? The front office is full of barking, yelping little dogs; to the point you can't talk. Outside are two cats who appear to have mange (owned by the owners). The rooms? Initially the screen door locked me out for no reason and the owner makes no apologies. The carpets smell like saturated wet dog, there's cobwebs everywhere, TV and barking dog blares in your room from the neighbor next door, the shower and shower curtain were completely dirty/muddy and full of soap scum. There was white crap (maybe just dog slobber?) spewed all over the brown blanket on the bed. Honestly, it WAS that bad!! I joked the choice was due to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant across the street. Comfy beds, helpful staff, convenient ish location. The ish, I was just in town for a show at the Casino. I friend warned me to not stay at the casino, you pay for the convenience. So, this hotel is on the opposite side of town. Plus size, Mt. Pleasant really isn't that big so it's a 5-10 minute taxi ride to the venue. Getting a taxi back at 11pm was a bit of a boondoggle, watch for Stargazer yaci- way cheaper than Uber. Lol. Sadly, I left a pair of sunglasses (prescription, boo) and some cute cat earrings on the nightstand. It happens.
