What a find. Not the best neighborhood, but most good eats are found in the not so nice part of town. Super nice and clean! Decorated very nicely. The lil' shop has a wide variety of Mediterranean spices and items. The menu is typical. But oh man, was it good!! Gyro platter with hummus, tazsiki, rice and pita, for $10! Awesome meal! Friendly staff. Will most def be back!

Great little place in East Tulsa. Found myself on South Mingo today and remembered Alfred's. It was a little after noon, so lunch was on my mind. Entered the place, and was greeted quickly by I suppose, the owner. Quickly glanced at the menu and went with the Mediterranean Platter. While waiting on my order I browsed the various spices, herbs and other offerings the place provides. Honestly, there's some pretty diverse stuff available, and I will be making a trip back to fill a few odd holes in my pantry stores. Food arrived very quickly, as you would expect. Don't let the looks fool you... this place delivers some great food. Not sure what it is with tabouli, but it seems you either get wheat with parsley added, or you get parsely with wheat added, with not much in the middle. Alfred's leans more to the parsely w wheat added, but it's still a great offering. Tart, flavorful and a great complement to the rest of the plate. The hummus is smooth and subtle in flavor. I could probably nosh my way through a gallon of this stuff. Rice was cooked perfectly, and I mean PERFECTLY. Not sticky, light and fluffy. The gyro meat was plentiful and very well prepared. There was more than enough for a good lunch portion. Served on the side was a nicely done yogurt sauce that just rounded out the entire plate. Looking forward to making my next trip back and sampling other items.

Alfred's Mediterranean Grill is a combination of a Middle East grocery store and a restaurant. You can find parking right in front of the place. The menu looks very attractive and is mainly divided into two main kinds: gyro meat and kabobs. We were gonna order the lunch special for two plate for $15.99 but the owner says we will need a 25 minutes wait. We were pretty hungry already so we just settle with the Mediterranean Platter instead. He said it's pretty common for the first time visitors to make this mistake of expecting having kabobs dishes but happens to find out it will take very long time to make. We should call ahead to order first. One thing I enjoy a lot about their food is that they have that homemade feel to it and not salty like the other mid-eastern restaurants. The gyro meat is tasty and have good texture. The hummus and rice are well-cooked but doesn't have much seasons to it. However, the Tabouli is very delicious (well-balanced). Pita bread is cooked as expected. One thing I want to share with you is that they have very reasonable prices for their groceries and have a great variety of dry herbs that you can't find even in Wholefood. We bought a bottle of Orange Blossom Water home to make cocktails.

Fresh Mediterranean food cooked and served with pride by the owner. Alfred's Mediterranean Grill is a one man show. The owner does it all. So if you are short on time, be very patient or, the best thing to do is call your order in about ten to fifteen minutes prior to your arrival. The chicken pita was very good. The combination platter came with tabouli, hummis, cucumber yogurt, pita, freshly grilled chicken, beef kabob and rice. It was a large meal. The beef kabob was well seasoned and had an excellent flavor. Overall a very good meal! The restaurant is small. There is nothing special about the atmosphere, but it is a clean and quiet place to have a very good Mediterranean meal. You can see the owner's pride in the way the restaurant is maintained and the attention he gives his customers.

I'm super picky on my Mediterranean food. Small very clean place. nice market inside as well. the food is just outstanding. very fresh tasting spiced very well. I was very impressed with this place.

Taziki Yogurt with Cucumber bits. Hummus, flavourful of Tahini, not drowned in Olive Oil. Love it.

Ordered #13 Kebab with Rice and Onions because I love onions. I was given a side of Tatziki, a side of Hummous and a Parsley Salad. I don't know how I did not discover this place years ago. I love Persian food and have had it in several places in Tulsa, but this is absolutely perfect. Not too salty, just tasty and perfect. Yasmin

I'm not sure how I drove by this little gem everyday and didn't notice for years, but I'm sure glad my wife brought it to my attention! The cuisine here is Persian, owned by a very kind gentleman, and it was spectacular! It had a great flavor with the right amount of heat. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it as did my infant son. The gentleman that owns the place was so courteous and interacted with my boy. He was also patient with my son who decided to squeal loudly and throw food in the ground. I can't wait to go back for a gyro or the chicken bariani!

After a quick recent Yelp search this place kept popping up as number 1 in the area so I broke down and tried the restaurant again. It was nearly a completely different experience! The pita bread is probably the best I've ever had. The portion size has much improved. The mix & match plate options are more balanced. I love I can order a LARGE tabouli salad! The garlicky potatoes have always been delightful. They packed all of the things I paid for and curbside was literally instant. I WILL return many times if this restaurant keeps up these new changes. I suspect the restaurant is under new management or something.

I went with the Falafel Shawarma (when it comes to Mediterranean food & it's my first time visiting, I usually try their Falafel before I try anything else). They have a lot to choose from because I almost went with a couple of other things (that I'll come back for). Their falafel consists of: "Garbanzo and fava beans blended with spices and fried until crispy" along with tahini & pickled turnips being on deck. I enjoyed the falafel in each bite. I'd ask for extra tahini next time (speaking of which... I just found out you can buy their sauces bottled at 8 & 12oz). The spices were subtle. I didn't have a big appetite to the point I didn't get a side, if I had space for one, I would've ordered the garlic potatoes, house rice or lentil soup. We went on a Sunday (after 6pm) & it was pretty business inside & curbside. Located inside one of the newer plazas in Tulsa with other local businesses. Side Note: I want to try all of their bowls & the Banging Beef Shawarma.

New favorite restaurant in Oklahoma!!!…read more I've lived in the Middle East and I can tell you this place is an absolute gem for the very healthy ancient cuisine. The greedy part of me thought I shouldn't review this place because the food is so good I don't want the quality compromised by too much customer service but the food has literally compelled me to write this. Friday evening 6:30pm: the place doesn't have a single chair available, tabouli is sold out. Plan accordingly. The Mezza Platter & the Shish Kebab are winners! The tenderloin shish kebab was the best I've EVER had! The tzatziki cucumber yogurt dip was perfectly thick...not runny like other inferior restaurants. The cabbage roll was surprisingly pleasant. I liked the herb olive oil dizzle over the hummus and eggplant dip. I also enjoyed the subtle hint of charred eggplant in the background of the dip. The place is across from Natural Grocers so it's perfectly located for multiple shops and stops. Will I come back? Definitely! Honest review & not paid by anyone to write these words. We're a sharing is caring group and I sampled from the other vegan items ordered. The falafel was great, the red onion and cabbage salad was great, and the red lentil soup was sooo good. This spot is going into the heavy rotation category forthwith!

It is definitely divey, but oh my gosh-the food is delicious and a great price. Can easily get full off of an $8-9 shawarma or kebab wrap. The plates are about $11-13 and great if you are more of a meats and rice kinda person. I suggest trying different types of kebab. The hummus is really authentic and creamy. It tastes like all the hummus I had in Palestine and Jordan. The family who owns and runs this place are sweet and keep it clean. If you've never had kofta kebab, try that first as a chicken/kofta kebab plate. I really am a huge fan of the folks running this hole in the wall, and the great food is such a treat!

The Reuben i got was fresh and hot. The meat was sliced thin and it was tender. They used Kraft thousand island dressing on it but didn't take away from the sandwich. Service was fast as I was the only patron ordering and only one other customer was seated eating. I know a reuben is meant for rye but I wanted to change breads . I was informed that I couldn't and decided to order anyway. The place is in a small storefront with a few tables but it seems like it has its regulars. It was clean and pretty quiet besides the TV playing in the background.
