1 Star - Terrible Experience, Unnecessary Upselling, and Awful Customer Service…read more I brought my Jeep Cherokee to BJ's Automotive for an oil change, tire rotation, and a nail in my tire. My Jeep only has 38,000 miles on it, yet they tried selling me over $1,375 in additional repairs for supposedly rusted rotors, brake fluid, a cabin air filter, and brake system issues. During the phone call, the woman repeatedly insisted BJ's was a "very reputable company." However, as our conversation continued, she started questioning whether her own mechanic might have missed something on my vehicle. That certainly didn't inspire confidence. Then came the classic upselling tactic: "I already have your cabin filter open in the shop, and it's hard to get to, so I might as well change it." I declined the additional work and paid approximately $200 for my oil change and service. She even made a point of telling me they charged extra for oil. When I got my Jeep back, my A/C was making a strange noise it had never made before. I took it to my own mechanic for a second opinion, and he replaced the cabin air filter for half of BJ's price in about 15 minutes. The strange noise disappeared, and after inspecting the vehicle, he assured me the additional repairs BJ's recommended weren't necessary based on what he found. To top it all off, when my fiancée picked up my Jeep, I asked her to get a copy of the service report. The woman refused to give it to her until payment was made. The interaction was rude and completely unprofessional. I went in for routine maintenance and left feeling like I had been pressured into unnecessary repairs. Between the inflated prices, questionable recommendations, and poor customer service, I will not be returning to BJ's Automotive. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of BJ's!

I was apprehensive, but one review said "Right off the bat I'll tell you 'Hire him!'" convinced me to go ahead and call. Robert was very nice over the phone and agreed to meet me at the motorhome... I had the smog pump part and Robert got right to work. He explained to me that the newer part was metric and that he would have to head to the hardware store to get screws to fit the part. Upon installation there were some other altercations that needed to be done (drilling out larger holes on a gasket piece/or diverter piece.. I think?) At the end of a verrrry hot 98* day, he asked if I trusted him to take the part home and drill a larger hole to make the piece work. I said I did trust him and I headed home. He texted me while I was driving home letting me know he successfully drilled the hole to work!! We agreed to start again the next morning, and although I wasn't available the next morning, he went on his own and completed the job. He sent me pictures of the installed part 100% complete!! And I gladly paid him. Even though the job was done he asked me to let him know the motorhome started with no noise making (from the smog pump) and to let him know if the motorhome passed it's smog test later that day... and it did! Robert is very communicative about the job, he stays in touch with texts, he is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and I feel he went above and beyond! I'll definitely will hire him again.
