If I could give zero stars I would. I had THE WORST experience here! I got a quote for part and labor for a brake booster, and informed him I got paid Friday and would provide payment then. He acted like it was no big deal and offered that I could even do it over the phone. As I promised I called Friday morning and provided payment. HE CHARGED MY CARD THREE TIMES! Which left me stranded at a rental car place 10 mins later because my card declined due to him charging my card three times. After HOURS of talking to my bank and his credit card company to get it at least two of the charges credited back (which I should of had all three and run for the hills at this point). Then everyone kept saying, at the least have him pay for your rental for the day. At first he said no and that it wasn't his fault. Finally he came and paid for one day. Big whoop $35. Which he made a huge deal about. He confirmed part was ordered that day. I checked in daily after to see if there were updates on part cuz he said he was so sorry for what happened and would "rush" getting the part. Part comes 4 days later and I'm able to finally get my car in to be fixed. I kindly ask if he'd be willing to let me pay a chunk now and a chunk tomorrow. He freaks out, interrupts me, won't let me speak, starts lecturing me like I'm a child, making me cry and so upset. Narcissistic behavior. Saying he's done everything and I'm a problem customer and on and on. I can't believe how rude and disrespectful he was to me. Now I gotta pray my car is actually fixed and no other issues arise after it's been worked on here. read more

I'm definitely a fan of Byron(owner) and the guys at Perry's auto. I've taken my car to his shop for almost 4 years now. I like cars but I wouldn't say I'm a car guy. I put my keys in the ignition, punch the pedal and my car goes...usually 80 miles per on a traffic free day. I know how to do some of the basics; I can change a tire in a pinch, I've changed the oil but only grudgingly and other than that I'd rather turn over my car to someone else; for a long time, it was the dealer I met Byron at a business function and he made an impression on me. I think he is a genuine person who is clear and articulate(especially about cars). His shop services Japanese and BMW's vehicles. I take my car to him for all of my major check ups and repairs. I just don't trust anyone else. Also, I know that I'm saving at least 25% from the what the dealer would charge for the same service. That's not as much an issue for me as time. I'm not there ALL DAY ! I make my appointment, everything is spelled out, and they don't do the whole "car speak " thing like some shops enjoy doing. Most importantly to me, I get out quickly ready to drive to my next adventure. If you don't want to have an adventure with your car service concerns. I just moved to the Conejo Valley and my "Check Engine" light popped on a week later. I took my 18 year old car here and was hoping for the best. Well, I got it. My car was analyzed in an hour and repaired in two. The price was surprisingly fair and it runs better than it did before I took it to Byron. Absolutely horrible service Byron is the worst shop owner I have met yet! This shop deserves no stars at all! They will lie to you saying that they will warranty their work and when something goes wrong and you take your car back to them they claim that that portion of the car is not covered by the "warranty" I speak from experience because it happened to me. Byron told me that parts from my engine were not covered in the "warranty" he had on the entire engine! Now does that make any sense to you at all?? This place is horrible!! We love Perry's. The owner is a great guy! His mechanics do a great job. We have several drive-em-til-they-drop (and they're almost dead) cars and they keep them humming. We always pass smog tests! Once my husband did some work on the exhaust system and, since he is not Mr. Mechanical, the next time we took the car in I called and asked Byron (Perry) to take a look and see if anything my husband worked on needed attention. I told him I didn't care if he told my husband I called, just told my husband what needed to be done, or pretended to find the issue himself, but to look at it. He did and just told my husband what needed a little tweaking, and fixed it with my husband's okay. Additionally, other times when I have heard noises in the car my husband can't hear (because he doesn't drive it all the time), I tell Byron and he doesn't treat me like a moron, which is great. read more

Horrible and dishonest. I purchased a timing belt and water pump and they only replaced the timing belt and I had it proven to me over and over again by all and dealership included. When I called the owner Byron on it he was very defensive trying to put the blame on others and he never offered a way to honestly fix the situation and make it right again. 0 stars if I could.... Byron's a hack and won't back up his work... My girlfriend bought a civic off of him that he was doing an engine rebuild on ... He takes forever and blamed the machine shop for not having the motor in time it took him almost 2 months to "get the motor back form the machine shop" but when I asked the dudes at the machine shop they said it had been done weeks before and that he just hadn't picked it up ........ Fast forward like a year the timing belt broke (on a freshly rebuilt engine or so I was told) so I took it to my buddy that owns a shop down the street and he told me that thru out the motor there where missing bolts and the timing chain and tensioner were reused from the previous rebuild and in those breaking it bent all of the valves ... So about 2G's later and the cars running great ..... I wouldn't take my car to Byron if it was the last choice seriously amazing how hacks like these can stay in business read more

It took forever for my car to get worked on. I had to call constantly to see if my car was being worked on. He was going to over charge me x amount of dollars for a part to be replaced. When I finally got my car back, the old piece was sitting on the floor on the passenger side. Everything was left a mess in my car. read more
