I encountered Alfred's Arepas at the Medford farmer's market today and it was exactly what I needed today. I ordered the chicken arepa. The chicken was grilled and put together with a slaw and avacado. The flavors all worked really well together. The frescas sounded delicious so I ordered the ginger and lime and liked that it wasn't too sweet. I would be happy to order from Alfred's again!

Very good. Hand made and fresh ingredients. If I had to guess everything here is made from scratch and very tasty. They have hot and extremely hot sauces. The hot sauce was pretty hot and had good flavor. The owner was very friendly and had nice seats and little tables to eat at.

I absolutely LOVE Arepas but good ones are hard to find. I'm home for a Summer visit with my family & I was stoked to find Alfreds Arepas at the Farmers Market this morning!! They are naturally gluten free & super easy to make Vegan so my go to is plantains, black beans & avocado. Their fresh plantain chips that come with your order make this place my new favorite. I already can't wait for the next farmers market! read more

My coworker and I have been eyeing this place since it popped up, so happy we did. We shared the asada (grilled flank steak) and the pernil (pork) arepas, both which were delicious and super filling. Ingredients are super fresh, too. Can't wait to go back. read more

Mistakes have been made -I have driven by this food truck several times and just found them at the Ashland Farmers market. Holy cow, the carne asada and the pulled pork are insane, tender delicious meats, tasty sauces. I will be stopping by again. Great service even better food! read more

Got one at growers market in Ashland and I am pretty much haunted by them now. To me also it is the purchase experience, the immersive quality of the server. I have rose and fell by that particular element. I like the wonderful servers of this new community of mine. I am sold on this wonderful food truck...incredible food, so many flavors and levels, sold on the warm goofiness of the owner(? ) who cared about me moving there. Wow...I went to this food truck at the farmers market because 1) they are gluten free and 2) they had a shorter line. I got 2 vegetarian and one queso arepa, along with the ginger lime Fresca. The owner (I think) was working really hard cooking all the fresh food, and I was amazed how yummy it looked when it came out. I was even more amazed when I got home and started eating it - it was simply DELICIOUS. I was really hungry and looking for something quick to grab at the farmers market and wasn't sure I'd like the plantains in the arepas so I had low expectations, but this is something I'll likely go back every week just to get. It's fresh, super flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The plantain chips are perfectly seasoned and the ginger lime Fresca was so refreshing and not too sweet. Everything here was such a treat. I highly recommend this place! read more

My god it was amazing. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture. This is the best food truck food i have ever had in my life, I'm tempted to drive back to the farmers market to get another. 11/10 would devour like a starving badger again. read more

Excellent service and the food was unbelivable. I'm from Colombia and these areas are better than many I tried before in my country! The owner provides excellent service too. Ask for the patacones if you go and the tamarind water is to die for. read more

All fresh. All made on premises. Heat ranged from mild to pretty hot...all were extremely flavorful. We also had guacamole. Don't believe that when you've had one guac, you've had them all. VERY tasty. Fresh. Our group of 3 had the Tacos de Carnitas (pork shoulder). Fantastic. Slow cooked to perfection with just the right accompaniments. My favorite of our 3 items. We also had the Mole Poblano. Chicken with the absolute best mole I've ever had. Creamy and complex. I'm not even a mole fan. I guess I never really had good mole before. Tlali's was delicious. Our 3rd entree was a special. It was slow-cooked short ribs in mini tostadas cups (I forget the exact name of the dish) with various salsa and vegetables. Delicious. All of the food was great. We did share the flan as desert. It was very good but not as special as the entrees. Our only nitpick is the drinks. We had a couple of mixed drinks, which were extremely flavorful. The cocktails were extremely well made and beautifully presented. The mixed salsa appetizer (Salsas y Tostadas) is a must to try ~10 different house-made salsas. The taco plate (Tacos de Carnitas) was the standout entree but we enjoyed them all. The flan dessert was solid. Only downside was due to popularity it was quite loud and the music bass was turned up so loud it was irritating and difficult to hear. Next time we will ask for the quieter, "secret garden" seating outside in the rear. All employees were friendly and they even squeezed us in last minute without a reservation! Not cheap, but a great date night spot.
