In preparation for this year's trip, we came across great reviews for a restaurant called Tlalli...so we made reservations...and we were not disappointed!! As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by co-owner Manya. She immediately made us feel welcome and like we had just arrived at our family home. Throughout the evening, she checked on us numerous times to see if we needed anything and to make sure we were having a nice dinner. Our server, Ramona, was absolutely fabulous. She was extremely friendly, personable, fun, and informative. Her recommendations were spot on!!! She was very attentive and we had wonderful conversations with her. The appetizer with the tostada and 9 salsas was amazing. Our carnitas tacos and mole duck were fantastic!! And the corn dessert so unique. All the employees treated us like family... our runner Jade was also extremely friendly... every time he brought something out, he explained what it was to us. The ambience of the restaurant was very family-oriented, cozy, and comfortable!!! The employees were constantly smiling...great service all around!!! To sum it up, this restaurant was majestic!!!! Now, I don't typically like my asada burritos with beans, so I asked if it could be made without it. They said the beans were mixed with the rice. I decided to just try it in the burrito. The rice & beans was soooo good, even on its own! Black beans is definitely the way to go. I was also surprised that I liked the fried plantains.
