Chocolate icing that dripped onto the side of the vanilla iced doughnut and onto the box. Very watery consistency.

We were very disappointed. After seeing all the good reviews we were eager to give Alexandria Bakery a try. We hoped to leave a good review but I just cannot. We wish we would have just went to Deluxe or even Jack's. We bought 4 doughnuts and 2 coffees to go. We went at 10:30am. They are only open until 11:30am so if you dare to give this place a try please note their hours. The doughnut icing was WATERY! By far these are the worst doughnuts I have had. Grocery store doughnuts are better than this. The icing was so bad that the icing dripped all over the other doughnuts, and dripped off on us as we tried eating them. If you have never had another doughnut shop you should know that icing is NOT supposed to drip off and is supposed to have a creamy somewhat thick texture. There was barely any flavor at all to the icing let alone anything. The doughnut part was very flat and dense also without much flavor. We had a vanilla iced with sprinkles, 2 chocolate iced cinnamon rolls, and a cinnamon twist. The cinnamon twist was chewy and choke worthy. Very dry and no flavor other than the cinnamon. The coffee was bitter as well and had little flavor. For such a nice coffee machine they have these were mediocre coffees at best. A gas station would have better. We ordered the mocha coffees. Price for 4 doughnuts and 2 coffees was $11.66 so prices are fair but I personally wouldn't spend .50 cents per item here. The quality and care in goods is just not there. The workers were friendly which was nice at least. The atmosphere is nice and it looks cozy inside, but the quality just doesn't hold up. Sadly disappointed and won't be back.

I don't play with donuts. I'm a donut-eating fool. Donuts are my thing. I have glaze running through my bloodstream. I've never eaten better donuts than the ones I got from Concannon's in Muncie. In fact, I'm planning another trip to Muncie JUST to visit Concannon's and get some donuts. What's a two-hour round-trip drive when you can be rewarded with amazing donuts during your journey? I visited Concannon's by myself, and although I wanted one of each of the donuts they had in the bakery case, I limited myself to three donuts: a glazed pretzel-shaped yeasted donut, a blueberry cake donut and an old fashioned donut. My go-to at any donut shop is usually a glazed twist, but they don't have glazed twists here! Instead, they have a glazed pretzel-shaped donut, which turned out to have all of the elements of a glazed twist, but it was just bigger and more twisty. It was amazing, pillowy, slightly sweet and even more delicious when you pull it apart with your fingers and eat it bit by bit. The blueberry cake and old-fashioned donuts were my favorites, though. These melted in my mouth, especially the old-fashioned. It was so tender and fresh. The old-fashioned is one of those kinds of donuts that I wish I enjoyed with some coffee, but instead, I ate it solo while dancing around delightedly in my hotel room. Concannon's has lots of other sweets, desserts and baked goods, like cakes (including mini cakes and individual cake slices), cookies, whoopie pies, chocolates, popcorn, candies and all sorts of other goodies. There is also a cafe with coffee and other beverages available. This is a must-visit if, like me, you love donuts, but also a must-visit in general because it's such a Muncie institution.
