From when we first called PermaDry regarding french drains in the yard and an improved sump system…read morein 2015, to a major basement flood mitigation project in 2020, and through our last issue-free annual maintenance appointment in 2023, we've always thought that these were the folks to call. We've recommended them to countless friends and relatives over the years whenever homeowners in Seattle inevitably need help dealing with drainage issues. We've sung their praises to people on forums seeking help finding the best company to help them deal with drainage and repair jobs. Never again. Even if we set aside the fact that our last annual service appointment took almost 9 months (with four reschedules and three no-shows) to actually happen, this company is no longer even able to bill correctly for work that has been completed. We've now gotten three invoices in a row that are not only the incorrect amount, but they're for a bill that we paid in full back in February. They're not even system glitches for an old bill in the system: someone literally created a brand new invoice for the wrong amount and for services that we've already paid for, and they did it after we paid in full. No one ever answers the phone. No one calls back. We just keep getting texts with this wrong invoice over and over. The last response we had about this was in an email on April 1st, and all it said was that Ryan (the owner) had recently fired the back-end staff person who'd screwed up all the scheduling for 2024 and that he'd asked another person to handle the invoices. No apology, no attempt to resolve, and (most importantly) no follow up since then from anyone at PermaDry to actually fix the incorrect invoice that we keep receiving. We've stuck with the absolutely terrible customer service for over a year now because we didn't want to invalidate the warranty we have for the work they've done for us, and we've tried to have patience since they've done great work in the past. At this point, though, it's probably going to be better in the long run for us to just let that go and move on to picking someone else for future household needs. Do yourself a favor and choose another company.

He dropped off the chair two weeks later and installed the table leg. The chair arm was fixed where it had split but the detached portion is still detached. The table leg was still damaged and warped. He was going to leave it as-is, but ended up taking it back. Two weeks later I hadn't gotten responses to my emails and we had family arriving so I crafted my own table leg. He came the next day, suddenly, and installed it. The furniture looks great now, but expect work to take a lot longer than estimated.

Worst experience I have ever had in the construction industry…read more We recently completed a full condo remodel and initially had a very positive impression of Huntwood Custom Cabinets. We visited their showroom in Lynnwood and were impressed with both the cabinet quality and the level of attention we received. The salesperson, Donna Ley was responsive during the sales process and helped us design our custom kitchen, master bath, and powder room. Although we received lower bids from competitors, we chose Huntwood after visiting their factory in Liberty Lake because we believed the higher price would translate into higher quality and better service. Unfortunately, everything changed after we signed the contract and paid a 75% deposit. We were quoted a 7-8 week delivery timeline with an installation estimated at 3-4 days. Delivery ultimately took 13 weeks, and the installation process became a complete nightmare. What was supposed to take less than a week stretched into 12 weeks of repeated visits, ongoing corrections, and constant follow-ups on our part. The installation quality was extremely disappointing. The lack of attention to detail was unacceptable, and every unresolved issue seemed to come with another excuse as to why it could not be fixed properly or completed on time. Communication became frustrating, and the entire process created unnecessary delays and stress during our remodel. By the end, we finally accepted the project, even though it was not completely to our satisfaction, simply because we wanted the ordeal to end and did not want any further delays. We requested a modest 15% refund due to the delays and poor workmanship. Huntwood eventually offered only 10%, but even that process took another five weeks -- and the refund amount was calculated incorrectly, resulting in an underpayment. At this point, it is difficult to believe the company values its own reputation or customer satisfaction once a contract is signed. I could provide many more examples, but the bottom line is this: I would never use Huntwood again, nor could I recommend them to anyone in good conscience.

After our floors were damaged by a flood, we chose Seattle Style Flooring/Andy's 5-star Flooring to…read morereplace our floors with LVP. Nearly 8 weeks after the initial faulty install, the company has evaded our persistent requests to correct the installation. Given the frustrating and exhausting experience of working with this company, I would never recommend them and would advise anyone interested in hiring them to steer clear. For those interested, here is a detailed account of our experience: - We scheduled the initial installation, and to our surprise, the installation crew called a week early to say they were on their way. We told them it was the wrong week and they could not come that day. - No one called us to apologize or reschedule. Instead, we made several calls and sent an email to our salesperson, Scott Whitmarsh, and the job was rescheduled to begin on the date originally agreed. - As for the installation, I will preface this by saying that Scott proudly sold us on the fact that this company hires craftsman to install floors, as compared to the inexperienced flooring installers that may be found at somewhere like Lowes. - The crew that came to install our floors were clearly inexperienced and unqualified to complete the job. While they managed to adequately lay the floors in the living and kitchen area, they neglected to level the subfloor at any point, which became an issue with the bedroom installation. The bedroom LVP floors have high and low spots that visibly bow when stepped on. The company has repeatedly evaded our requests to properly level the floors and redo the installation. We have persisted for nearly 8 weeks at this point to have the bedroom installation completed properly. - The crew also installed baseboards. Some of our original baseboards were damaged during the flooring removal and dry out process from the flood, so we needed the same type of baseboard installed where the old ones were missing. The baseboards were the wrong size, but the crew installed them nonetheless, never voicing to us while there that the boards were the wrong size. In fact, it turned out that they installed baseboards of two different sizes, which were both different from our original baseboards. - The baseboard joints showed very poor craftsmanship, with large gaps and joints that were poorly cut. See photos. - The quarter round installed at our front and balcony threshold were noticeably damaged during install. - Several of the baseboards were damaged during installation. - The baseboards in the bedroom closet were installed misaligned so that the closet doors no longer close properly. - The crew used silicone to caulk the baseboard joints, which is not a paintable surface. We discovered this when our painter came to paint our walls and pointed out where the paint would not adhere to the areas near the baseboards that were covered with silicone caulk. - After much complaining, it was agreed that a more experienced crew would come back to properly install the baseboards. - When the day came, the same crew arrived. - We called to say that was not acceptable, and later that day a different person came to perform and supervise the baseboard re-installation. - This more experienced person also trimmed some of the LVP boards in the bedroom to see if that would correct the bowing. It did not. - We continue to work with the company to correct the poor bedroom install. However, given all we've been through, we would advise anyone looking for new floors to shop elsewhere.

I connected with Scott Whitmarsh of Seattle Style Flooring on a project with clients creating an custom outdoor BBQ and fire table with single piece counter tops. This project is in process, but I Scott has been a knowledgible and responsive resource for a complicated project. Meanwhile, my husband and I needed to replace the very tired carpet in our home. As our knowledge of carpeting was nil, Scott started us with an overview and primer, asking many questions about our home, lifestyle and priorities (small spaces, high traffic, 70 pound dog, quality, aesthetics, feel) so he could make the best product recommendations. Within a couple of hours we walked out with three sample boards, mulled them over in our home and made exactly the right selection. Three weeks later we have beautiful new carpet installed by Raoul and Jon, their in-house installation team who were a delight to work with. I am very particular about installation, both process and care for details. These are craftsman who are rightly proud of their work. Communication was excellent with both Scott and Raoul and his crew. Raoul was even very patient with me, explaining how to clean the carpet after our dog promptly walked with his muddy feet on the carpet that had been just finished 10 minutes before. Glad we selected for durability and an active household. And glad we selected Seattle Style Flooring!

They are a standard size cabinet sales and install company & do not have custom size cabinets. They didn't have black cabinets that we originally wanted but we do like the dark espresso cabinets we settled on. We also ended up with two deep dead end cabinets vs corner units since they do not do custom sizing. We were, however, highly motivated by their low prices & ability to install both cabinets & quartz counters in one day. The rest of our experience was less important to us than getting a good price and install experience. I noticed a couple earlier reviews marked them down to one star for the customer service. In our experience in the show room, they let you look around independently and don't use high pressure sales techniques; which we appreciated. some of the other reviewers seemed to want a lot of direct personal attention & other sales bells/whistles. If shoppers expect high-end customer service for low priced product, I do see how they can be disappointed. To place an order, take your measurement drawing to the person at the counter. If you use them as installers, they will check your measurements on site prior to install and revise the order, if needed. I do recommend using them to install cabinets, counters, AND pulls since if you make a mistake installing it yourself (drill the wrong holes in the cabinet fronts, etc.) they require you to buy the whole cabinet to replace the parts. They don't sell separate parts like hinges & fronts. We made the mistake of not having them install the pulls & our handyman made a mistake drilling the wrong holes (4" vs 5") for pulls on two drawers. He had to buy two whole cabinets just to replace the drawer fronts. I have marked down half a star for this since they didn't warn us about this policy during our purchase & there was no mention of them installing the pulls during our purchase. Luckily, the cabinets are not super expensive & our handyman thinks he can resell the cabinets with the 4" pull holes. I have further marked down another half star for a couple of small issues during install. 1) They didn't warn us about the very strong & toxic smelling adhesive that would be used for the counter tops. In retrospect, we likely should have been out of the house during countertop portion of install since we all had headaches the next day. 2) There was a small issue with the electrical outlet for the microwave cabinet. They mis-measured where to cut the hole in the cabinet & attempted, to instead, move the electrical. Our electrician popped over during install and told them that wasn't safe. So, they cut an extra hole in the back of the cabinet (where it should have been to begin with) to allow for the outlet. Due to a soffit situation for heating ducts, the right side of the microwave cabinet is permanently closed (as expected) & so we will never see the extra hole at the back of the cabinet & don't really care about it. In all, the price was right for our basement kitchen set-up & has met our expectations.

There were multiple units being worked on in our area so our complex & parking lot was strewn with construction debris, nails, falling pieces of wood while they worked on roofing, etc. I lost count of how many nails got stuck in my tire. The worst part was when they did glass work and the glass SHATTERED all over the unit during the removal process early in the morning. I was finding chunks of glass months later. There was no apology, no contact from management. Just a MESS. The absolute most unprofessional construction company I've ever come across. It is unfortunate that as renters we don't have a choice as to who gets hired to do work on our place of residence. I assume they are one of the more affordable options because my complex is known to hire the cheapest possible labor (eye roll) - but if YOU have the choice please save yourself the trouble & steer clear.

DO NOT HIRE! LOOK AT THE VIOLATIONS ON L&I WEBSITE! Repairs began December 2024 and they approved…read moremy occupancy June 2025. Before moving in, I found construction defects, damage to personal property, they completely missed items on the scope causing breach of contact, had to replace plumbing fixtures but never submitted a change order, and dozens more. I don't think the insurance company is aware they've been charged for items Mcleod SKIPPED or multiple items added (ex: the scope says to paint window trim in the Entry but there is no window trim). After moving in I discovered multiple fire hazards, plumbing issues, handles were uneven or partially unscrewed, dirt and debris in the new cabinets and drawers, equipment left behind, and so much more. Because of the safety hazards and multiple construction issues- I filed a complaint with L&I and contacted the city permitting office. They are receiving a violation from L&I for doing electrical without a permit and for not obtaining a building permit. They did not apply for a permit until Aug 2025- TWO months AFTER we moved back in. IT'S BEEN OVER 365 DAYS SINCE REPAIRS STARTED AND THE PERMIT IS STILL NOT APPROVED!
