My second time at this salon and I love the new location. Very convenient to my home and easy to find. I got a cut and balayage with Melissa. She made sure she understood exactly the look I was going for. For color and cut she confirmed each time what she was going to do and if it was ok. Sometimes I have the stylists guess for me but at the end of the day it is your personal opinion on what suits you best. It did take a little longer than I expected for my visit but well worth it. I had a gentleman that shampooed and applied the toner with magic hands. Definitely felt great! The owner was very personable and talked to me for a bit. His new space is wonderful and will be perfect with all the additions coming into the area. This is my new salon to continue going to in the near future. read more

Jasmin did an incredible job on my hair- I had pretty much given up on a good color/balayage and decided to try a Groupon at this salon because I didn't want to spend a fortune again for something mediocre (or worse). She was so thorough with the color and explained pricing well. Plus, she gave me tips on how to keep my new blond color in good shape until my next appointment! Let me start by saying somewhere else messed up my hair horribly and for weeks I had to wait for it to get healthy enough the try to fix it. It was horrible, straw-like and splotchy brassy yellow instead of my usual ash blonde highlights. I'm getting married soon and was devastated thinking how horrible my pictures would be. I had been to Alexandar salon once before but had decided to try less expensive places. Never again. This is my forever salon. Tina knew exactly what to do. I had no idea it was even possible to salvage my hair without having to grow it all out or dye it back to my natural color. She recommended a different hair procedure (root shadow) than I had tried before since my usual highlights were out of the question. What I left with was the opposite of how I arrived and much less expensive than I had thought it would be. My hair is now feeling healthy again, smooth, and the coloration is like a natural blend from brunette to ash blonde. I don't know how she did it, but Tina is an artist and I am so grateful she saved my hair (and my wedding photos!) read more

I bought the Groupon for this place after I read good reviews on yelp. It far exceded my expectations! The salon is in a prime Buckhead location and has a small, trendy boutique feel. I have had the same colorist since I was 15, so when I moved to Atlanta I was nervous about trying someone else. After Bridgit listened to what I wanted and explained their method of highlighting, I told her I trusted her and to do what she thought best. Shortly after she began working on my hair, Alexandar came over to introduce himself and see how my highlights were coming along. He has clearly trained each hair dresser very thoroughly. Bridgit did a fantastic job - my hair looks much healthier and the color is very natural. Overall, Bridgit and Alexandar were both extremely friendly and welcoming. Had a great experience here, and Crystal did a wonderful job with my color. Next time I will try a cut too. Found out about this place from Groupon and worried that I might get treated like a "cheap" customer, but this was nothing like it. From start to finish, I felt welcome and like they really wanted their customers to keep coming back. Add in the validated valet for the parking deck (free parking! yay!) and wine while my color set (free wine! yay!), plus the charming staff and energetic owner, and you have the makings of a nice little salon which won't make you leave looking like an over-coiffed Buckhead Betty (unless you ask for that, I guess). 4/5 because it was really hard to schedule, and after 4 phone calls not returned I gave up and e-mailed the owner via the website. The salon is big and a great atmosphere, you're not sitting on top of anyone else. I love the way my hair came out, I loved my stylist. After reading several great reviews, I decided to try Alexandar Salon and I'm glad I did! The salon is somewhat small, which I like, and very clean with a contemporary design, and complimentary valet parking is offered. My stylist Alissa, was very sweet and listened intently to my requests and decided that a dry cut would be best for achieving my desired goal, which was trimming my ends and correcting my layers. She did a great job of straightening my hair, which tends to be rather difficult for other stylists I've visited, so that in itself was impressive. She consulted me along every step of the way and I couldn't be happier with the result. Very nice salon nestled in a quiet back area of Buckhead. Ali was my stylist and I think she gives one of the best shampoos ever!! During her consult, she really took her time in assessing my hair and she made sure she gave me the look I wanted. When I arrived, I went straight to her chair. No waiting. To that end, I was done in a little over an hour. Very pleased. I don't totally dig the location with the valet and parking validation, but I will say that the stylists are super talented, thorough and highly trained when it comes to hair care. BEST SALON EVER! I went to Alexandar Salon a few months ago to get my balayge done. This was the first time ever that I dyed my hair and I wanted it done by the very best! I went in for a consultation with Kelly and she made me feel very comfortable and excited our my new change. The day of my appointment went smoothly. Kelly started to work on my hair as soon as I walked through the door. Everyone in the salon was so welcoming and made me feel even more comfortable! I walked out of the salon with the most beutiful color in my hair and couldn't have been more content with my result! Kelly did a great job at finding the perfect color for my black hair. Great salon! I'm pretty picky when it comes to my hair, but Amber did a wonderful job. As soon as I walked in, I was offered a beverage (which was a plus!) and had a nice chat with Alexandar. He was so sweet and welcoming. Then, Amber took me back and asked what I wanted to do with my hair. When she was all finished, it was exactly what I had asked for. That doesn't happen too often when you're seeing a stylist for the first time. I am always a little nervous when I try a new salon for the first time but i am SO glad that I came to Alexandar Salon. Anna took my hair from long and flat with brass toned highlights to my dream hairstyle....caramel balayage with layers and lots of texture. She even curled my hair after and had me feeling like a million bucks! I highly recommend her! The appointment took around 3 hours for cut and color but it was totally worth it. I can't say enough great things about this salon! I first came in through a Groupon at their Buckhead location and visited their new location in Chamblee today. It's a beautiful space and SO easy to get to from Buckhead. As I walked in, Alexandar was sitting at the front desk and greeted me by name - and quickly offered me a glass of red wine, which was exactly what I wanted! He was attentive while I was with Kayla & made an effort to really make me feel welcome and appreciated. This is not something I've ever experienced at another salon. I went in with my Groupon for partial highlights, cut, and style not really knowing what to expect because I've never colored my hair before. I made an appointment with Melissa since she was the only stylist available for the time and day I was looking for. I had an idea of what I wanted and I shared that with her along with the fact that I was just looking to dust the ends on my hair. We looked at some pictures together, she picked a color for me and a few hours later I had amazing highlights! Enjoyed a few glasses of complimentary wine while I was waiting. The highlights were just enough to make a noticeable difference while being subtle at the same time. It was a mix of highlights and balayage. Alex the owner also stopped in and came over to introduce himself which I thought was very nice of him. BUCKLE UP FRIENDS. It has taken me over a year to bring myself to write this review. I typically think that negative reviews are petty and just let my anger and/or annoyance subside into the inevitable acceptance of whatever experience I considered so dramatically terrible at the time. But like I said, it has been over one year, and I STILL think about the terrible cut I got at this salon. Unfortunately, I waited so long that I can't remember the extremely polite woman's name that cut my hair. She was so nice. Great conversationalist, she really TRIED to understand what I wanted, there were questions, there was discussion, there was a true effort. The owner was so nice and talkative and upbeat. The receptionist was funny, helpful, and quick. It all had a very welcoming, laid back, friendly vibe. The problem came when the actual hair cut began. The stylist was cutting one side of my hair, and the owner was cutting the other. You read that right. She would start on my hair, and every few minutes he would come over and show her a different way to do it on the other side of my head. I am all about people learning. I am willing to sacrifice a couple of hairs on my head for someone to learn. But he was showing her different techniques that ended in COMPLETELY different results, making the two halves of my head look completely different. Back story: I have a very* short, close shave pixie cut. So when she cut the hair, that was essentially the end of it. No wiggle room to fix one side or make them look similar. I didn't know how to ask them to stop doing that so I simply asked "Does he do that often?" hoping she would pick up what I was putting down. She did not pick up was I was putting down. She gushed about how much she learns from him and they all love it when he butts in on their cuts. Which is great, that you can get along with your boss so well and everyone has the same very strong willed goal of learning. But I feel like.. maybe on not a living person that has to walk out of your salon after? Maybe I should have been more assertive in hindsight. This is the part that made me vow to never return, and truly pissed me off, to be frank. She asked to take a picture of my hair for the company instagram. I said of course, she snapped a picture, I tipped too much (for how upset I was), and I left. A few weeks later - after it grew out just enough to where I could push strands here and there to hide the unevenness -, I realized I could have been overreacting. Maybe it didn't look that bad. Everyone sees their flaws in a different light. I checked the instagram for a different perspective to see if it really was as bad as I thought it was. ..It was. It was so bad, they did not even take credit for the cut. They took credit for the color that I did *MYSELF* at home a week before I got there. In my opinion, that was just the lowest move. This is just one negative review out of tons of great ones, so take this with a grain of salt. But after a year of carrying this around, I decided it was time I let them and potential clients with very delicately balanced haircuts, like myself, know my experience. read more

Everything about the salon is perfect! Anna is a miracle worker! She transformed my orange, dull, and lifeless hair into a beautiful balayage!! I have been trying to get to blonde from black hair and it completely affected the health of my hair. However, coloring and a haircut with Ana and the health of my hair was restored! The products they use at the salon are very high class and Anna is an expert who knows how to use them to bring your hair back to life! She has an extensive career as a hair stylist and her experience is invaluable! In addition, the customer service is amazing and everyone is super nice! Most importantly, the salon is very affordable and not like other places that charge an arm and a leg for mediocre work. I went in there for the first time yesterday and I am happy to say I think I've found my regular hair place now! I got a all over color by Marie and she was just so sweet and literally worked magic on my hair. I am sooooo happy! Bc of how much hair I have it takes foreverrrrr to do anything to my hair and while I was there they made you just feel so welcomed and even all the other stylist were beyond nice and went over and beyond as well. My husband bought me a Groupon for my birthday (Feb) and I was very excited to get my hair cut and colored as I only go in once a year for color and get maybe 3 haircuts a year, so this was a big deal for me. Unfortunately I was not able to get my hair done here, since this Groupon was only good for new clients. I came to their Buckhead location once in 2009 according to their records. I was able to make an appointment online and mentioned the Groupon, but never received a call to confirm, or any heads up that I could not use the Groupon until I arrived for my appointment. I live in Stockbridge and the drive took me an hour, so to arrive with dirty hair and to be offered 20% off of a 200+ cost without being able to apply the 60+ my husband had already spent on the Groupon there was no way I could work that in our budget without taking away from the Stylist tip, so I left and managed to get squeezed in elsewhere and received a wonderful cut and excellent experience that turned my day back in the right direction. The blame is partly to technology I made my appointment online and mentioned the groupon, but received no call to confirm or to bring up the issue of new clients only which could have been done weeks before my appointment. I also should have looked over the Groupon for the fine print, but my hubby was so proud of doing his research and finding a great salon which in his defense he did, and how was he to know I had been here one time 8 years ago!! I also am very disappointed in how the issue was handled, it was almost a sorry not sorry conversation, I understand rules are in place for a reason, but at times unique circumstances arise. With so many great salons in the area I definitely will not return to this establishment. Also since the Groupon was bought months ago there is no way we can get our money back which is also very awful, but with the money spent on my hair from the other salon I went to that day plus the Groupon I spent less than I would have here. On my experience 8 years ago I remember my hair turned out great, but my experience was not, I recall the girls doing my hair talking to one another the entire time, complaining that they had to work and not really interacting with me at all, hince I only came here one time...in 8 years! When someone is coming in and spending over 200+ and tipping you 40-50 perhaps you should be more pleasant. All in all this salon is super high quality, but don't expect them to work with you if things get mixed up. read more
