They have created a wonderful, fun, and safe community to live in. Having a supportive management team and friendly neighbors makes a big difference in the overall experience. Plus, it is a pet-friendly environment that contributes to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The property is well-maintained and there are 3 ponds to walk around. This review is by no means a slight to the staff. This apartments are ancient! Circa 1980's. Terrible carpet that is old and should never be used...EVER! You can clean it and take off your shoes everyday and it will still get dirty. MOLD IN YOUR TUB! There will be mold in the tub and or window seals. I developed very bad allergies while living there for a couple years! Endless dust and allergens. I think there may be mold under the carpet. All appliances are very old. 1980's old! The celling and floors are extra thin. You hear your neighbors every move. Terrible non insulated floors and ceilings. I had a bee problem in my bathroom! Bees somehow nested in the air vent and every time I used the restroom I had bees in my bathroom. It took at least a month to clear them out. The vent wound up falling from the ceiling and was replaced by an open vent! Luckily through me killing the bees myself and them fumigating the vent it went away! When your lease is up they charge you an extra $600 to $1000 on top of your rent to go month to month which should be illegal! Price gouging at it's worst and they will tell you that they do it to make you sign another lease and discourage month to month because you can just leave at anytime! Terrible business practice that should be ILLEGAL! The neighbors do not pick up the dog fecal matter at all! I had to neighbors with a combined 4 dogs and they never picked up the shit! Not at all! Doo doo bombs galore in the grass! Do not move there unless you are just starting off...No what? Do not move there period! Almost 2700 per month including parking for horrible conditions! No bang for you buck at all! This place is a hazard and if I have mold poisoning or skin irritations because of mold that they did not take care of I will sue! AGAIN AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE APTS THAT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED! I hope this review helped. Too expensive for dirtbag scum lord living!

Two stars is for fast approval regarding an urgent matter…read more I was in a situation where a local Veteran organization helped me get an apartment here for 6 months. It was a last minute/last resort kind of thing. I had never rented from a place that only allowed a 6 month lease to be signed. I do not know if they were trying to see if I could afford the rent or not or if that was their actual policy. I was 100% grateful though. The move in process was fast, the remodeled unit I had was nice, and the maintenance guy was always responsive, but here is why I would not recommend moving here. I did not really deal with the leasing agents much and when I did they responded. I remember the person I told I would not be renewing the lease smack her lips and I thought that was hilarious! I paid right at $2k a month to live here with no amenities. That's $2k out of my pocket with no assistance of any kind. I do not know if this place is income based, (it definitely looks that way), but not worth 2000 bucks a month. There were issues with the kitchen sink leaking upon move in, they had contractors come out multiple times to try to fix it, and they eventually got it to stop leaking. While one of the contractors were there... he picked up my stud finder and asked if it was his because he had one just like it. My response was if he'd heard anything fall from his toolbox, he said no, and I told him it was mine. Who walks through someone else's home picking up things that do not belong to them?! Beyond unprofessional. The female who came into the unit with the contractors left energy drink cans in my bathroom and used my paper towels as if she was at her house without asking. Absolutely mind boggling! Issues with package delivery. I stayed filing BBB complaints with FedEx and UPS for leaving my items in the mailroom instead of bringing to my front door to the apartment listed on the address. The trash build up was horrendous! People throwing trash on the ground around the dumpster, having to squeeze in and out of my car when attempting to park on a hill and the first floor unit was down three flights of stairs. Look before you lease. I did not and took a loss. Days before I moved out the kitchen sink flooded in the middle of the night. Maintenance responded, had a plumber come, brought in big fans, but if my items were not already packed up they would have been ruined. I was so glad to leave. I really did not have any interaction with the neighbors except someone barking at me a couple times as I got out of my car. I'm not a dog so I never turned around. There was a weirdo who felt it was appropriate to double park his raggedy truck in the guest parking area which was very frustrating. When the neighbor across from me saw me moving out they told me they had a mold issue and was not able to be let out of their lease which sucked. I also caught neighbors allowing their animals to relieve themselves near my patio and not pick it up. Very frustrating. Overall... this part of Everett is the ghetto. Crime ridden. Stayed hearing police sirens. Something happening on Evergreen Way everyday. Two pros: There is a grocery store/ shopping center within walking distance and if you need to catch the bus for any reason a stop is close by.

In my experience Michael McNeil is person who has the tendency to follow minorities around the…read moreproperty then lie about it. I would give this property 5 stars if it wasn't for him. He followed my kids home after school, and when I asked him why he said it was because they were letting people in the building using a service entrance and the service elevator. Strange behavior for them especially since the service doors would be out of their way, but sometimes kids get into stuff. I reprimanded them, and they took their punishment while still maintaining that they were innocent. After I moved out a parent from the elementary school told me about the incident because she was there. Our kids are friends. She still lives there so I won't say who. I don't want Michael to retaliate against her. She is another person of color. My children, her, and her children came in the north lobby. When they got in the elevator Michael blocked the doors from closing, and forced everyone out. He then grilled my children about their identities and where they lived. He forced them to re-enter their latch code and then followed them to our door. When I asked him about it today he left out that they were using a service entrance and said it was the north lobby entrance. Which is it? It's not hard to remember the truth. He continued to downplay the experience, and that is exactly the kind of thing that makes people with his mindset so dangerous. This property and my experience here I would consider perfect if it wasn't for Michael making my children uncomfortable and afraid to walk past the front desk. If I didn't have to leave because the cost was too much to handle after getting laid off, I would 100% have broken my lease because of his presence. Donald is amazing. Heather is lovely. The entire maintenance team is fantastic! There are very little issues with neighbors other than the occasional loud/rowdy nights that happen. There was an uptick of inside smokers and people who left trash in inappropriate places as we were moving out. Hopefully those issue get resolved for the tenants.

I've lived in multiple apartment complexes around the Seattle Metro (Bellevue, Issaquah, Sammamish,…read moreand now Lynnwood) and I can easily say that Newberry Square overall is one of the nicest complexes I've lived in so far. The office staff and maintenance staff deserve the rave reviews that they get here on yelp! Parking has been hassle free compared to other complexes out there (And it's free!) My roommate and I are hoping to make Newberry our home for the foreseeable future (assuming rent increases don't happen or don't push us out). The only naggling things that I have about this complex are as follows: 1.) Package delivery can be a pain in the neck, the apartment has a parcel locker system, but some delivery personnel don't pay attention to it, or maybe don't have access to it (Typically same-day Amazon Flex/gig workers don't see it or can't access) 2.) Gig deliveries (Uber Eats, Doordash, Instacart, etc.) seem to struggle with the access boxes (though to me they're pretty simple to operate) so I just wind up meeting them outside instead of expecting them to come in to my floor 3.) The gym doesn't have as squat rack or barbells (I'd love to get back into weightlifting again, this piece of equipment is super rare for on-prem gyms at the apartments I've lived in though) 4.) There's no EV charging in the garage, I'd LOVE to have some of the empty "Reserved" spaces retrofitted with EV Charging! My last apartment complex had this and I miss it terribly (having to go and charge on Public chargers works, but it's a hassle), I'd even be willing to pay for charging privileges at my complex if that was a barrier toward getting it done. 5.) Worried about future rent costs. This complex is fairly pricy (But this seems to be the norm in Lynnwood now), I'm hoping that when we're up for renewal our rent doesn't increase, or if it does it only does so minimally. Rated 4 stars, would be 5 if we had EV charging, the other "complaints" are just common apartment living ones. Definitely hoping we can stay here! We love it!

I was charged late fee $175 because their system was messed up and did not calculate fee for just 11 days. I declined to pay the whole month rent and offered to pay check and Mary said they can't accept and refused to help me saying there's nothing she can do. I should just pay the whole rent online. I did not trust them to give my money back. They made us join a damage waiver program with not being able to opt out of it. Still charge us for the coffee stains on the carpet that could come off with a good carpet clean that would should be doing anyway. I was actually told by the maintenance that they might replace the carpet with wood flooring . Then why charge for stains and cleaning? It's a rip off. I wouldn't trust them to just add all kinds of payments and then refuse the help when you ask saying they can't do anything. I've been emailing to get wrongful charges and no one responds now. When they need money they will harass you. There are better communities for better pricing and better amenities.
