Alex Freddi and foreman ,Norm , were amazing from the first visit and estimate to the completed remodel of two bathrooms. Alex Freddi just completed a dining room addition to my home. My home was built in 1928, and there was no dining area, just a tiny nook off the kitchen. The completed project looks absolutely stunning and I am beyond happy. This is the 3rd project Alex's company completed for me. We had a kitchen remodel done 9 years ago, and a bathroom remodel 2 years ago. All of these projects have gone very well, and look beautiful. We have just completed our second contract with Alex Freddi, who has become our 'go to' contractor when we have a larger home remodeling project. This time there was no problem to be fixed, our circa 1985 house just needed some updating. We mainly wanted to replace the tile countertops, but that led to new sinks, some new light fixtures, fans and the opportunity to make small improvements like dimmer switches and LED tube lights. And just like our first experience, we are extremely happy with the results. We are enjoying our home again. When it comes time for our next project, we will, for sure, contact Alex Freddi again. We had a full kitchen remodel done by Alex Freddi Construction LLC at the end of last year. The old, dark fixtures of yesteryear were completely removed, and replaced with brand new Ikea cabinets and drawers. Our front kitchen window was widened considerably, and the wall between the kitchen and dining room was partially cut away and replaced with a granite countertop. Two other new windows were also installed. New Marmoleum flooring and modern ceiling lighting was added to bring everything up to date. It was a considerable job, which included moving the gas line for the stove, and putting a new water line across the room for the brand new fridge. All in all it took between four and five weeks. Alex met us at Ikea and helped us order our white kitchen cabinets. Gary ran our project and was very friendly and approachable. Everyone involved was always professional, polite, and punctual. This included Gary's assistant who helped with demolition, and new cabinet construction, as well as the electricians, plumbers, and drywall workers. They were very mindful of keeping the area clean and tidy. Gary made sure to sweep and remove debris before finishing up each day. Quite surprisingly, for a job of such magnitude, dust and particulates were kept to the bare minimum. The gas main was moved to the other side of the room so that the stove, oven and microwave could all be together. The plumbing was slightly reconfigured under the sink to fit the water filter and garbage disposer. A small water line was created to reach the brand new KitchenAid dishwasher which was installed under the granite countertop. We now have a lot more cabinet space along the wall by our gorgeous new KitchenAid French door counter depth refrigerator. We were going to stick with our old kitchen tile floor when Gary suggested the upgrade. We're so glad we changed our mind, because the new gray Marmoleum flooring is durable, modern, and beautiful. Gary is an excellent painter and does very good millwork, which framed the large window and the hallway trim. We went with a nice black granite Ikea countertop which adds much more prep room than we had before the remodel. The Ikea guy came out and did lots of detailed measuring, and the installation went perfectly. We found Ikea offered the best value compared to other countertop businesses. During the construction, we set up a makeshift cooking area in the basement living room replete with hotplate, fridge, and utility sink. It actually worked pretty well to tide us over while the new kitchen was being worked on. The prospect of a kitchen remodel can be a daunting experience, but we did a lot of research and knew what our needs were. The best advice I can give anyone contemplating a remodel is to do your homework. If you have a small area, it's important to measure and plan thoroughly so that you take advantage of the space you have. The dark and cramped look is gone. Now the countertop seating area is bright and roomier. Access around the counter is easier because of the wall removal. The large window allows more daylight not just into the kitchen, but into the living area as well. I wanted a window installed in a wall to let in more light and air. My neighbor recommended Alex Freddi Construction and so did Angie's list. They sent Scott over to scope the plan. Once they got started, they were done in 2 days, maybe even 1 1/2 days. They installed exactly what I wanted and it looks fantastic, complete with exterior detailing, interior seals and taping and texturing. The price was fair, and the workmanship was done well. I highly recommend this contractor. Their reputation preceeds them on Angie's List. I agree and am satisfied with my new window install. read more

Kitchen remodeling I bet the quality of their work has to do with which project manager you are assigned to. I did not have good experience. My project manager and his crews messed up with the measurements of my countertop, and so the granite needed to be detached, cut, glued and put back. The pipes were hooked up wrong and so the garden hose got hot water instead of cold water. The floor guys scratched the custom made kitchen cabinets whenever they came in to fix the scratches from moving stuff around on the hardwood floor. The thickness of the shelving in the brand new custom made cabinets were thinner than their own standard, and it was brought to their attention by myself. With all that, my project manager was quick to deny any wrong doing from their part in the hot water coming out of the garden hose scenarios. One of my brand new sink strainers were "collected" by their crew member even though they knew it was ordered by me. Alex Freddie is fair but again the quality of the work has to do with the project manager you will be assigned to. I won't go back to them for my future remodeling projects and that is for sure! read more

After seeing Alex Freddi's A+ rating on Angie's List, I reached out to get a quote and was surprised by how quickly Alex responded. I was looking for some help on a full gut kitchen remodel but wanted to tackle as much DIY as possible and contract the rest. Alex was happy to accommodate my request and was always fast to respond throughout the quote/contract process, so I felt like I was in solid hands right from the start. Bob took point as PM on my project and did an awesome job moving the reno along at a steady and timely pace. He also had a keen eye for detail, catching a couple of errors with the plumbing and drywall install and calling the workers back out to fix the mistakes cost free. Probably the most appreciated and impressive part of the whole process, though, was his team's ability to take on a couple of my major DIY tasks last minute after falling ill, including drywall/mudding/taping and our cabinet installation. His crew scheduled the add-on work in without delaying my project and despite having another large project outside of mine to tend to. I now have the kitchen of my dreams and am so incredibly happy and thankful! read more

Bath addition This was a bathroom addition in a small 1,000 square foot condominium. The condo only had one bathroom and this was a real problem for my mother. Considerable expertise and skill was needed to figure out a location where a bath could be added within the confines of the existing walls and spaces in the condo. Kyle and Alex did their usual superior job in figuring this all out and then getting the plans approved with Washington County. We added a toilet, pedestal sink and a walk in handicap tub. The work was just phenomenal. Kyle had to figure out the engineering needed to add a pocket door to enter the space and also get this approved separately by the permit folks in Washington county. This required special drawings and engineering determinations about the load above the proposed pocket door. The tub also proved a bit tricky to install because it was a floor model that I got for a heavy discounted price. Kyle had to do some special planning and refinishing work to make the installation work -- but he did a beautiful job! I will try to attach pictures if I can. Figuring out the placement of all the fixtures also required considerable skill due to the small dimensions of the addition -- but it all looks beautiful now! very exquisite. Also, another nice feature, Kyle installed by Ginger grab bars and they look terrific -- beautiful but functional -- in addition, he also suggested the use of a radiant towel bar to supply the heat that would be needed in the bathroom since connecting to the furnace was not going to be possible. It too looks beautiful but has a very special function. In case I forget, Kyle also installed the Robern cabinet accommodating its special lighting and electrical hook ups. These cabinets are terrific but they are bear cats to install - they are heavy and very complicated -- Kyle is a master when it comes to getting these cabinets in place and getting them to function properly. All of this work was completed in March -- I feel confident that the work has substantially increased the value of the condo and has certainly resulted in a better quality of life in this small space. Oh I almost forgot to mention the amazing tile work done by Kyle's tile guys. They are masters of matching and laying out tile -- that is doubly important in a small space. Kyle and Alex are so terrific to work with -- they are always just a text or phone call away -- I never have to worry that if I am worried about something that I cannot reach them -- they are terrific about calling and responding immediately!! After having to use some other handymen for small projects, I cant tell you what a difference it makes to have contractors who are so responsive and nice about questions. I never get the feeling that they are patronizing me or that they think my worries or questions are stupid! You are always kept informed about what is happening with the project -- communications are their strong point no doubt!! but also too -- the quality of the work is so fantastic!! It just comes out beautiful. In 2014, they did work for me on a house that I sold for 100,000 dollars over what I thought I was going to get! the buyers who looked at the house loved the work that Kyle and Alex did -- the same will be true in the future for this bath addition which is beautiful and wonderfully functional! Bath remodel and Kitchen updates and floor This was a bathroom remodel where an old tub was removed and a new walk-in shower was created. Kyle and Alex helped us design a plan to install a walk in shower and redo the electrical and furnace vent placements to greatly improve the safety and efficiency of the bathroom. My mother had fallen in the bath tub shower combination - slipping on the tub and then breaking her elbow as it became wedged in between the handrail and the wall in the tub/shower combo. This project removed this dangerous tub and created a curb free shower!! What a delight it is to just walk into a shower!! I always knew that a walk in shower would be nice, but I cant tell you how much less stress and strain it is to have a totally curb free shower and it is gorgeous. Kyle helped me get DT glass out to install a sliding glass frameless door. Kyles tile guys were amazing, taking great pains to lay out the tile pattern so it would look beautiful -- its really a work of art. IN addition to the tile work in the shower, Kyle put in this most ingenious slit drain that looks so pretty and ensures that water never flows out of the shower area into the dressing area. He also installed a Mr. Steam wall seat for the shower that looks just terrific. For the rest of the bathroom, Mh custom cabinetry created the most beautiful custom cabinet. Kyle then installed a series of Robern cabinets that required wiring and linking them together along with a special lighting package. Overall, the bathroom is so much more functional and beautiful!! I highly recommend a project like this and Kyle and Alex are the ones to make it happen read more

Having someone with extensive work experience and knowledge in the area helped us tremendously, as this was our first big remodel project.
